The theme of this week is: Low stress training, high stress deficiency.
Mid-week update: okay, I think I figured out the deficiency. Magnesium. My PH’s have been 6 or under thus far, so I’m assuming that’s what caused the issue. The past couple feedings I added 6ml/gal calmag at 6.5 ph, and the plants almost immediately started looking better. Darker green new growth with no signs of the spotty yellow between veins.
I also think I may have been under-watering. Finding the balance is a lot trickier than I was anticipating!
The girls are getting tall, so on day 23 I tried my hand at some LST. I’m sure I didn’t do it correctly, but we’ll see how the plants respond.
Well, shit. Plant number 1 split on her main stem. After some cussing and flailing, I wrapped her injury in electrical tape and said a prayer to the herb gods. At the end of week 4 she is doing well. I’m noticing no adverse affects at the moment. I unstrapped her LST and will give her a few more days before trying to train her a little more (she’s the tallest in the tent and is going to get out of hand).
Plant 2 is a squatty little thing. LST probably wasn’t necessary, but she seems to be responding well.
Still struggling with watering frequency. It’s not helping that my RH has been super high. Looking into a dehumidifier for the room.
