Day 21:
Great week for growth she put on 3 inches in height and still seems to be going the buds are starting to form nicely all the way to the bottom of the plant fairly consistent size bud sites. I’m noticing that a few buds that are slightly blocked by light seem to be swelling a little bit faster. Think I found the groove of coco finally and she seems to be loving life despite getting mites back every few days but that will all change this week.
Her smell OMFG for only 3 weeks in to flowering this is one hell of a potent smelling girl it actually reminds me of harvest day to the mother skunk no1 plants with a little extra umph. I personally don’t smell it when I’m in there but just opening the tent I can smell it in my whole 3 story house. Yesterday I took her out because she still has a few mites so I gave her a treatment in the room not the tent I then went outside for a smoke and when I opened the door as soon as it cracked open was like BLAM harvest day x2 for a 3 week flowering girl wow the strong smelling father really adds to and compliments the skunk. Touching stems is a deep pungent almost arm pit Odor and touch small sugar leaves is a very fresh almost hospital hand sanitizer with a touch of lemons and juicy fruit. The skunk no1 juicy fruit pheno that I am using is showing strong but I am also seeing some additional features coming through from the father such as structure and the added potent smell because he was one of the smelliest males I’ve seen yet.
Side note was running low this week so went to a gov run dispensary for first time since it’s been legal 2018 and nice place what crap selection of bud and omfg was it dry I just give it the look 😠 and poof it was powder driest weed I’ve ever seen and kush haha ya.... yea okay and 16$ a gram at that lol no more dispensary for me.
Watering:
Per gallon
Ghe floragro 1ml
Ghe flora micro 4ml
Ghe florabloom 5ml
Ghe CaMg+ 4ml
She is already up to 2L every 48 hrs about 15% runoff
I wish I potted her in my new 5gal mesh bags I’ve never tried them she clearly could have used more space.
coco is a forgiving medium mate. make an error and it can be instantly flushed away if needs be. I love it as a quick grow throw together too. As long as you keep the ph around 5.8 going in all will be good. It leeches calmag from the plant and nutes so have some handy as your going to hit the most needy bit next. The gnats area pain in the ass but if you cover the surface with decent sand , the larvae get stuck and the adults cant get down to lay eggs. you can also try a 20%milk/80 water in a spray bottle to wet the coco surface and mist the plant with it too. it wont smell or do any damage at all but will kill any soft bodied insects as they breath through a membrane on their backs often and suffocate from the milk deposit. It will go straight through the coco too so no horrible stinky residue
@Ganjagrandaddy, thanks for the advice, yea I’m liking the coco compared to soil I just got the watering down I was still watering like soil up to a few weeks ago. Just waiting on some mesh pots coming today I’m going to try with my clones either way much better with coco.
Yes I been feeding CaMg+ which is organic base for soil but the bottle is almost done I feed usually 4ml per gallon throughout the grow. And will get some CalImagic once this bottle is done.
Adult Gnats I got under control they can’t fly far either to the floor to get squished or on the sticky pads it’s the young ones. I’m going to try the milk idea I recently used 9 parts water to 1 part alcohol and it literally destroyed spider mite population was only a few stragglers left and on another plus side it didn’t kill all my pistils on my flowering plant like insecticidal soap that killed barely any mites just pistils lol. So I totally believe and will try the milk lol thank you.
@Grnhead, thanks bud it’s a fun process found out some cool things along the way. So weird best weed I’ve ever smoked was on vacation in Jamaica called Columbian Gold (some really Skunk bud) and it turns out was one of the parent plants to Skunk No1 small world no wonder I like this particular skunk so much. Can’t wait to see what the lemon adds to it was a smelly one to
