Hey all. This is my first grow on coco, i will be using “Castomans” quantum board, handmade by nice guy from Ukraine (uheled(dot)com).
This lamp is claimed to be more efficient than 600w HPS, we shall see.
Started with 40% of light power (using dimmer).
Been facing some problems (feeding i guess) and i was about to end that idea with coco and start new grow with good old soil. First leaves came out sick, but after feeding with A+B solution situation seems stabilized.
I would really appreciate if somebody could give me a hand by giving tips for growing in coco (yea yea, i know, we have almighty google but still).
Now he has new neighbour in soil - Gorilla Zkittles (Barneys Farm). Gonna repot into a bigger pot (10l) after getting rootball.
Finally plant (FLC) starts progressing, the start was awful (very slow), Now the is no issues, both looks good. Topped Franco's, preparing for main-lining. Made SCROG little bit bigger to use all the box volume.
Haven't been at home for 3 days and when came back, i noticed fishy smell - monkey fan was dead. Glad i came back in time as motor got very hot, thank God it didn't catch on fire. Plants are feeling good, repoted Gorilla Zkittlez to 10l airpot. That's pretty much all.
Lemon cheese feels bad, i guess i overfed him OR it's just my shitty tap water (if im wrong,please make it clear for me). Gave him Flawless Finish AN to clean coco a bit.
Gorilla Zkittlez looks good, still drinking only water, next week gonna start feeding next or other week. Topped it and put some honey on wound.
What's wrong with lemon cheese? Is it overfed? Drain showed me 800 ppm and after flawless finish drain became 600ppm. Or is it my tap water (300-400ppm WITH FILTER)? Should i get reverse osmosis?
Hey there , this looks like pH fluctuations to me , you can tell from the " splotchy burning ", soiless is challenging , can't tell what nutes you're using for some reason but seems you're doing well already ... You're looking to add one of each veg NPK , calmagmicro , and a chelation agent like flawless finish what you're already using. So if out have these nutrients you should also get some pH up and down , getting pH right is the toughest part of growing , you're looking for 5.9/6 .... I use strips because they're cheap and you don't need to calibrate the things ... Fix this and the problem will stop spreading but the affected leafs won't recover . Hope this helps ! 🚀
I was always wondering if im calculating nutrient mix right.
For example:
My tap water is 350 ppm.
In late veg i should feed 800 ppm mix.
How should i mix? :
1. 350 ppm tap + 450 ppm nutes = 800 ppm mix
OR
2. 350 ppm tap + 800 ppm nutes = 1150 ppm mix
I always mixed "1" way
You're doing it right, it's total ppm you want.. using distilled water to mix nutes iß best because you can squeeze the most ppm into it without being too salty.. also in late vegi target 900-1000 ppm at a pH of 5.8.. to get them used to a saltier solution.. in flower it's 1000 ppm target to start and in week 3 I jump to 1200 ppm +/-. pH of 5.5. They love it.. . In soil id work with a slightly higher pH. More 5.7-6.0 in flower.. cheers! Keep it Green! DWCHC 👈 👍
Let the flowering begin! Removed scrog for GZ as i don't see a point of it anymore (gonna be small tree but killer *i hope*).
Delta nueve is must have for each grower, i used it for 2 grows and the results are fantastic!
Defoliation has been performed,hidden buds & leafs from the bottom removed, next time will be before harvest. Delta 9 after 1 feeding did a job, buds are becoming very frosty, today is second feeding of it (1-2 times to go). Smell is not that strong as expected, maybe it's too early to show off it at full power. Can't wait to try em out!
It was nice to have this experience with coco and scrog. Actually i thought it will be bumpy ride since i never grew with coco. Strain is easy to grow, easily recovers from stress. Buds needs some curing, but tastes good enough to smoke. I realized that 20l pot for coco a little bit overkill, gonna use 10l pots next grow instead. Gorilla Skittlez is already finished, gonna post result when will get dry. I will be starting new grow in 2-3 days, 4x Auto Bubble gum (bonus seeds from Holenderskiskun.pl), if interested - stay tuned.
Good indica hybrid, buds are not so dense as FLC but looks nice. Good smoke without harsh taste. Good for night, wouldn't smoke at the daytime. Will grow it again later.
