Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods.
I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and ยฃ150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste.
I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually.
I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds.
So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. I plan on using a quadline for them all to keep a control for the comparisons too.
Be green folks
Welcome aboard and a huge thank you to Fast Buds for the opportunity to try autos.
@Ganjagrandaddy, vraiment trรจs intรฉressant ! Je v utiliser les mienne de cette fason alor je n'y avait jamais pensรฉ ! Good luck bro ๐ค I send you lots of good vibes!
@@Pseudo,They can be used to offset electrical fields of all the power packs and lights. I use also 2 " organite " pucks and towers. Google Organite and read up. it is a very positive and proven method. good luck
@Silky_smooth,haha love your turn of phrase Silky. I am total auto Virgin so will be interesting. I plan a topping and quadlining and a few 90ยฐ bends if needed but am not sure on how quickly recovery happens with them. scary prospect now I am going with them. lol. I hate the early phase as they look so weedy and weak , imagining being able to even blow on them too hard would feel like abuse atm.lol Seeing your work is inspiring to say the least but a low plant count and need for yield has me contemplating.lol
@KuuurRecords,They are so unique looking it makes it hard to do it as normal .lol. I went with the trichs and starting to amber. The 1st one I did to the suggested max days + 3/4 and wished I had let them go a a little longer like the other 2. not huge yield but a nice smoke. good luck mate
@Denzul,Cheers bud. They are a great grow to do and I would advise anyone to do one of these. Seen so e nice stuff over the years but nothing like these close up. soon as flowers came on it was special. smells so potent too. Thanks for the comments.
@Silky_smooth,She is so greasy and smelly now too. just love organic bud. The megacrop fed girls are smelling nice too so will be interesting to see how it tastes in comparison. I thought they were about finished but I think she has other ideas and still wants to produce pistils top to bottom. She is too good to rush now though and her sisters still keep pushing too. The different pheno still looks longer to go than these two also as its only just starting to withdraw the old pistils and out new ones out.
@regionallystoned420,Even hours seem to be dragging now.lpl still going string but the trichs are still clear with a few cloudy. I want the amber 30% in bud to get then out. Thanks fornthe vibes mate
@Kid_Colombia,Thank you very much for your comments and I will happily join the fun with you. Hope you had a great christmas and your keeping in the green.
@Silky_smooth,Thank you. I am enjoying this auto fun. so easy to get to grips with so far. I am glad I changed up to Mega crop and the LOS so I didn't have to worry about hitting the right spot with bloom nute changes too. feels too easy. New growers should start here I my opinion. A good 1st grow could spell continued growing. I see so many give up if it goes arse up.
@Fast_Buds,Thankyou very much for the opportunity to enjoy them. They are doing great already and 2 are showing signs of dominating the race.lol I am pleasantly shocked by the speed of their growth and keep double checking my previous pics to the room.lol I am soooooo looking forward to this strain. Have tried another photo version before but it did not have the vigour or high that the breeder claimed. this is not even a consideration with your genetics at all. not to mention your reputation. Kills me waiting weekly to showcase as they grow.lol
