Didn't run into many problems. Started out germinating the seed in a paper and then proceeded to put it in soil with a plastic bag over it to keep humidity high.
After it came up of the soil, then I started using my humidifier as the soil was getting green, most likely due to no airflow and high humidity.
Anyways, its growing fine with a very nice structure. Going to be very cool to see this one grow!
Shes slowly starting to grow faster, and the green stuff is gone since i added a fan into my tent. Shes been loving it
Also added very low amount of nutrients and it seems to be alright with it, new growth did get a little light green though. probably gonna transplant her soon, in a week or less.
The structure is absolutely amazing though, love looking at the symmetry of the plant.
So far so good!
Time was coming for transplant, saw signs of yellowing and getting very droopy after waterings, and also very very fast drying out.
So I decided to transplant and it seems to have went well, did add a small amount of nutrients this time.
Plant is getting stronger, and looks to be getting nicely into the veg period from germ.
This is the result a week after transplant. She litterally exploded with new growth, did also top her a few days ago as you can see on one of the pictures.
Theres been no signs of nutrient burn since I started adding nutrients, so I might add a bigger dose next watering.
Been trying to wait a week for each watering, so she can dry out and expand the root mass.
The ''true leafs'' has come out and is looking fantastic! I think I will start low stress train her so the lower growth can get some more light.
I started LST this week, all the lower growth has come up and is catching up with the main top.
I want to end up with a even canopy, and a lot of tops (Any tips is appreciated!)
So far I've been pulling the plant down each side, every other day, to maintain even growth.
The plan is to fill out this pot with roots and transplant to a bigger pot and then switch to flower, hopefully in the next few weeks the whole pot will be filled with green so theres no soil to be seen.
It's all coming along fine tho!
Just watered today, been doing a lot of reasearch and I'm trying to create a lot of tops and its slowly evening out!
Love how it looks, and its getting close to another transplant, I'm going to put it into the final pot next and then flip to flower.
For my first grow, its going well I think!
Still seen no signs of nutrient burn, seems like this genetic can take a big dose of nutes and I guess I will increase it next time to feel it out.
Its week 7 and I transplanted to final pot, could of probably given it 1 more week, but it should be fine.
the pot made it so I could use the scrOG to continue creating a sea of green, I might actually wait with flipping it into flower, probably giving it 1-2 more weeks.
Didn't grow a lot lately, not sure why but its still looking very healthy. It seems a bit down on the pics as it just was transplanted and probably is getting used to the new soil.
Today I watered with a higher dose of nutes, since I havent seen any signs of yellowing at the points or droopy ness.
We're now at week 8 and I've decided to put it into flower by switching light schedule to 12-12.
The training has created a lot of new tops, and I'm hoping for it to put on some good weight!
Havent had any problems yet!
Week 9 and we are in preflower! It was hard to catch the white hairs on pictures, but they are shooting out on the tops!
I can see that they are gonna stretch alot, decided to pull the tops on the left under the SCROG, to let the new growth create more tops on the left side.
Overall the canopy is pretty even and the stems are thickening up, which is expected.
Planning to fill the whole tent with tops, gonna wait with removing lower growth until we are in flower and stretching is done to stress the plant less as possible.
This one is going to be packing, I'm calling it.
Week 2 of preflower, a lot has happened and its stretching wildly. Canopy is working evenly which is just what I wanted.
Hoping it to stretch at least another 10 cm before its done, it's been 14 days since switching to 12-12.
Next week ima take a lot of lower growth off, and some leaves to open up some airflow in the plant.
So far so good!
Week 3 of flower!
Had my first problem with a bit of droopyness, couldn't figure out what it was but it fixed it after a watering. I think I wasen't watering evenly all around the pot and some areas was getting less water, anyways shes back to being happy now and just in time for pictures!
Decided to strip the bottom of growth that wasen't getting any light, I wont be taking anymore off in flower. Growth was stunted for a few days, but shes back now!
The white hairs are getting long, and its looking beautiful. It's slowly thickening up ;)
Week 4 of flower!
Things are looking great, stretching is done and you can see everything getting a little thicker, also the THC is slowly showing on the leaves.
This is the first plant I've grown with long white pistols, and its showing to be the most promising too.
The plant is drinking ALOT of water in flower, which I didn't know and it made me think I had a problem. The more you know.
There should be little over a month until Harvest and I can't wait!
Week 5 of flower!
I'm still feeling out the plant for how many nutes I should use, ended up giving it too much but luckily shes a heavy eater!
Tips are a little burnt, but im sure it's nothing to be concerned about.
I still start mixing nutes up in a bigger container and water throughout the week.
Had no problems, only difference this week really was the buds getting thicker, it's easy to see difference from every week that passes.
Week 6 of flower!
Growth has been doing fine, though I am not satisfied with the results and the progress in flower for biobizz the past grows and have just ordered the nutrient line of Advanced Nutrients, heard a lot of good stuff about them.
Hoping to put some size on the plants in the last coming weeks.
I'm thinking there should be around a month until harvest, which is good. The genetics itself is really nice, love how it growed so far and how easy going Moby Dick is.
Next coming weeks is going to be crucial for the outcome!
Week 7 of flower!
First time watering with Advanced nutrients since switching out biobizz, feel like I already see a difference in size of the buds!
Plant has been loving it, the only reason is that shes a little droopy on the pictures is cus she was fully dry and just got a water.
The plant is lacking production of THC as u can tell by looking at the leaves, but I'm sure its partly my light and due to bad conditions which is my own fault.
But ima start flushing next week, and try some techniques I've heard to work well!
Not long, not long left 😍
Week 8 of flower!
Got a new grow light! Decided to get the HLG 260W QUANTUM BOARD V2 RSPEC LED light, which I heard really good things about.
Before I just had a random brand china grow light, excited to see results with this one on future grows.
I'm postponing flushing by two weeks as I'm not satisfied with the amount of orange hairs and the buds isnt ripe yet, so flushing starts next monday!
Plan is to get a 2nd of the same grow light, which is going to be crazy!
Week 9 of flower!
Buds are still growing a lot, and new white hairs are shooting out. The crystals are changing a little now, so going to flush this week!
I also added a co2 exhale bag into the tent to raise co2 levels.
I was surprised how much my new light did, even in late flower. Buds has grown a bunch and are getting really heavy, branches are starting to lean cause of the weight its putting on ;)
I counted 15 tops in total, It's a truly beautiful plant, loving it!
Week 10 of flower!
Been flushing her all week, and has one more week to go then its harvest time!
Sadly I lost two tops due to budrot, it's really a bitch which u can see on one of the pictures.. hoping it wont take more, really focusing on the airflow etc now.
But the buds are getting huuuge, growing big in no time! Touched one of the buds too, hard as rock, dont want any airy buds so I'm really happy with that!
My girl is making me prowd! 1 more week to go!! HYPE
Moby dick was really easy to grow, really strong and resistent. Basically had no problems throughout the grow, changed my light and nutrients at the middle of the grow and changed it for the better.
I dried the buds for 11 days, sadly the buds shrunk quite a bit I feel while drying. They came out really dense though, which is what I'm looking for.
Decided to put the plant in a 48 dark period before harvest, to push it the last bit. Also tried a training method I learned from a guy from the Netherlands, which is poking something through the mainstem to make the plant think its under attack and ''defends itself'' to make it increase buds size.
Flushing went on for 2 weeks, and removed all the nutrient salts, the plant quickly showed colors.
Overall I really enjoyed this grow, idk if I will grow it again though.
