Hey bros, The burned tips have been slowly progressing so I've cut down to 1/4 and for today I gave her 6l of pure water with 2l runoff. But I did not notice any other slow growth factor, etc. She's thriving and I long to see how she packs some more weight on the next weeks, because her trichs are already bursting with resin! =) So I guess 3 more weeks to go, making it 10 weeks flowering. The smell is strong and amazing. The buds are sticky and usually stick to each other, amazing! =) I will be updating the text and adding more photos through the week. Tchau, do Brazil! =)

Hello there, I hope I can help with this one and I do have a link for you that I'll post below, along with a member that defo's on this site. Firstly if you're to defo, the majority of it should be taken before entering flower. Not 100% necessary, but defo in Veg allows the plant to recover much faster then when she's in bloom. I would do the majority of any defo you need to do a week before flower. When in flower, you can take fan leaves as you please but I would limit how much you take at a time, taking only 2 or 3 at a time, per day until you have what you want. This is all to reduce stress and encourage fast recovery. In veg, take what you want but ensure it's either directly before or after a feeding. The nutrients added will help her rebound much quicker. Why defo? Mostly to open up the canopy to light and air. Shoots and flowers below a bushy canopy will be under-developed and will probably become LARF (shake). By strategically defo'ing leaves that are blocking potential colas/shoots, we expose to air and light. These shoots will then grow like crazy and roughly match canopy and the size of your other tops. On to your plants. You trained them very well and there does not seem to be any light/air being blocked out. Your tops are all nice and far from each other, even height and their fans should not interfere with their individual growth. If a fan leaf does get in the way, you can take it, but I suggest massaging the fan stem out of the way first. A trick "naturalist's" use. Massaging the fan leaf stem between your forefinger and thumb, gently, will allow you to soften it up and direct it into the position you please. This isn't permanent and the fan will probably migrate back to its original position within 24-48 hours. BUT, this method allows us to keep out sugar maker, cause zero stress and still get the results we're looking for (light/air canopy penetration). Just takes a little more of your time to maintain the process. SO! at this time, I don't feel there's any 'necessary' defo to do on your girls. As they grow and get bushier you may like to take some fans at that time. For now, I'd suggest keeping all your sugar makers until or unless they actually become a problem and get in the way. Here is a link to growweedeasy pertaining to defo, why we do it, when we do it and the benefits of doing it with overly bushy girls. https://www.growweedeasy.com/defoliation. I'm looking for a contact I know who does defo and I will send you their diary link and/or name in PM, I just need time to source it. I hope this helped you in some way and if you need anything else, drop me a PM and I shall see if I know anything about it. Cheers, looking great and definitely on your way👍😉

Hey bros, take a look at the last Day 102 pics, mold... what do you think? Does not smell like it, comes from outside. Looks like a bunch of white pistils together. I've cut one of to examine further with the mic. I will update the pics later. Oh, and also, one more week to go?

Mold or genetics???? I have a GG#4 in 8th week of flower, and I have three top buds that are actually developing cotton tops in the center of their buds. I would think mold would be thinner and more widespread.

Hey man great grow so far! Shitty about the split but there is definitely lots of hope, similar breaks happened on my outdoor this year during flower and tape and time healed everything! My first mainline is going on now too and after seeing what unfortunately happened to your girl I'm going to support the main stem before the same happens to me. Good luck with the rest of your grow man, I'll be following!

amazongrowcommented5 years ago
@ButtersStotch, thanks for the visit bro! yeah, that was sad but she keeps growing like a champ! I will tape it tomorrow to give a little help. Hope she gets heavy after that. I will be supporting my mains two, I will tie them to the tent's side stickys and also use some internal ties on the branches themselves. Btw, very nice outdoor grow.. beautiful plants.

BladeCuttercommentedweek 85 years ago
About your N deficiency concern. You are right that it normally starts at the bottom of the plant, but if it is only a few leaves or just older leaves, it probably is not a problem. Lack of light, as you suggest, is more likely. It also tends to start at the tip of the leaf and move toward the stem. Your pictures show it starting at the stem. If it is not widespread and expanding, I wouldn't worry about it. If it gets worse over the next week, post some more pictures and I can see if I have any other suggestions. 😊

amazongrowcommented5 years ago
@BladeCutter, Hey guys, we got 3 new other leaves at the bottom with N deficiency. I think the girl was proper feed, but the last watering was only with pure 175ppm water..maybe it might have helped her on loosing those soluble N..anyways, got her fed up and she is growing vigorous.. .I will update the diary later. I will let you gentlemen know, thank you

@BillMonroe, thanks for the input! that is what I am doing, just prunning the lower branches. I took a few two days ago that were too low or would grow to shadow or too small.. those left are the ones i'm sure betting! but I think at the end of week 3, as you said, would be the best time now.. the race is open and Im cheering for them!
BillMonroe
BillMonroecommented5 years ago
@amazongrow, I agree with @BladeCutter , no worries mate. You can remove the lower branches whenever you want. If you're unsure which ones to remove, do it in week 3 or 4. You'll indeed notice that they have low amount of white hairs compared to places which are getting more light. After a while you get the hang of it and yuo will recognize which branches are gonna make only larf and waste energy. The lollipopping of branches in flower has never stressed my plants but defoliation sure has.

She looks fabulous! I would do something about the split. She’s going to get heavy. Maybe lift up the two branches and support them and then also run a piece of wire so the split is held together.
Tazard
Tazardcommented5 years ago
@amazongrow, she will be fine I have no doubt. Stem splitting is a viable option to gain multiple tops so an accidental split really doesn’t effect anything except for the open wound. However, when purposely stem splitting it’s difficult to do because a newly formed stem is so small in diameter.
amazongrow
amazongrowcommented5 years ago
@Tazard, I just taped and suppoted but could not get tem together. i also GoT sad and defoliated and took the little branches. She is lighter and the light is more through. Lets see if she grow some big leaves on top. She was too small at tops with much stretch I thought. Hope she can manage and still produce some heavy buds As She is a lonely child. Thanks for the visit

I imagine everytime you open the tent you must just smile ear to ear. It's a beautiful girl an you're doing a hell of a job with her. A burnt tip here and there, meh. Looks great to me!👌 I wish you the absolute best of luck this week as you start to wrap her up. And it is interesting that her trichs are already bursting with the amount of time left. I take it as a good sign. She's just pushing and pushing. Awesome. Cheers my friend. Happy grows.😀
amazongrow
amazongrowcommented5 years ago
@JinksyGrows, thanks for the kind words. Indeed she looks beautiful and I hope she will get heavier on the next weeks. Maybe the stem breaking give a bust on the trichs, uh? I too find that she has much of it. The smell is great and the colas are sticking to each others sometimes... I've never seen that before! Any last peace of advice for the rippening? =) Thcau, do Brazil! =)

She looks great . What a stretch. I would loosen some of your ties. It will heal and scar up but you have to take some tension off. Otherwise as the stem grows it will continue to split I think.

@Growing_healTHCare, it's on 120W now, 3000/4000k... from the tests of similar products using the same LED I guess around 500-700 at the center at 30cm or so... but I raised the lights to 45cm when she did the first stretch, damn! Next time I will leave it like 20-30cm all the way. I want a short and dense bud, no need to be tall, but heavy. Not now though. =) She had some minor twisted and yellow growth at early flowering so I thought it might be the light was to close and got from 30cm to 45cm... I'm guessing she didn't like that much know. Not next time. =) I have a trellis. I will put it on the saturday. =] Thanks for the input, bro, much appreciated!
Growing_healTHCare
Growing_healTHCarecommented5 years ago
@amazongrow, a homemade 1/2 PVC trellis is pretty cheap to make and you can weave it in between the stems to give it support. PVC is cheap here anyway. Put in some screws and weave in twine. You can support them with twine to the main stalk or from above but I prefer a quick trellis. Do you know what you PPFD was at canopy level during the stretch? Not sure if the 60 watt LED shown in the description is correct or not. You may have gotten extra stretch from lack of photons. I hope so or I will be super cropping :)
JinksyGrows
JinksyGrowscommented5 years ago
@amazongrow, Looking good brother. That split! Oof, but taped up nice. This is unsolicited advice, but have you considered plant yoyos hung from a horizontal string line to take all the pressure off those laterals? I know you already did some work and I'll check it next update👍. Just a thought! Cheers man. Have a good week with her☺️

amazongrow
amazongrowcommented5 years ago
@Growing_healTHCare, LOL... yeah man, I know all of that and at first I tried but I can't fight nature, no money for AC, small grow. It is what it is. I've had the previous grows with the same humidity and I know I will never have a 100% top notch product because I dont have the necessary climate conditions.. but still I'm here and trying to improve and manage things with what I have. =) During the summer it gets to 32C in there. I think that is worse then humidity. Actually my VPD is on the avarage for veg and early flower because of the temperature. But I can not get humidity to 40-50 in flower, no way! =) I have a good extractor I use neem cake meal. No bugs, no mildew, nothing. Gone. Since I started using it I had no problems. Drying and curing is a whole different subject, but still I had no problems with mold, but I take care and clean. Thanks for the input again bro, much appreciated! =) Tchau!
Growing_healTHCare
Growing_healTHCarecommented5 years ago
@amazongrow, look into VPD. You can get away with higher humidity(though 80 is a bit much) if you raise the temperature. You need really good airflow to keep away the mold and pest that come with high humidity and temperature's though. 80 really needs to come down the further you go into flower though. Once the stretch fills in with foliage it is going to be like a jungle in there.
