Day 43 - Still going well I think. I decided to go with a bigger light. I'm currently using a Mars Hydro TS 600 but will be switching to a Mars Hydro TS 1000 this weekend. TS 600 was okay but now that some stems are really reaching up, I had to raise light and the light to the lower stems is getting weak. This should do it. Watered 48 oz. plain water. Day 44 - Watered 48 oz. with 1/2 bloom nutes and 1/2 fert. I cut off the splint I put on 2-3 weeks back on my broken main stem. It appears to have healed up perfectly. hardly a scar visible. I also cut off a couple bottom leaves that were looking bad and yellowed. These were bottom leaves on the first side colas off the main stem. Day 45 - Watered 32 oz. with 1/2 bloom nutes and 1/2 fert. Installed TS 1000 light. Lots brighter...Hope this makes plant happy. Day 46 - Watered 32 oz. with 1/2 bloom nutes and 1/2 fert. Plant seems happy. This light is much brighter. Photos are more difficult because they are over-exposed. Looks like there are 5 main colas that have shot way up above the rest. Is this normal? There are many others but they seem to stick around the top of plant canopy. Hoping this light will make it to them and the can also shoot up? Maybe this is all normal with no training to speak of. I started LST but broke a stem and abandoned training. However, I'm not sure what difference it would have made... Plant is already wall to wall. New TS 1000 has also increased the temps ever so slightly but not enough to be concerned with. It gets a little warm on top of light but not really bad at all. Day 47 - Seemed a little droopy this morning. Soil was dry and pot was light. Watered 48 oz. with 1/2 bloom nutes and 1/2 fert. I've been going back and forth between 32oz. and 48oz. but I think I need to stick with watering 48oz. at a time now. I'm also having a little trouble with humidifier in that the humidistat is in bottom of humidifier at bottom of tent and measuring device I track is at top of canopy. There is a difference in humidity levels at these two places and it's getting harder to keep this differential in check.. I also think this is because the plant is providing humidity to environment. I'm hoping that I'll just be able to eliminate humidifier at some point. Day 48 - Watered 48 oz. PH water. Noticed some spots on some of the leaves. A couple of the lower leaves have turned a little yellow also but will probably be trimmed off soon. It's the spots on upper leaves that has me a little concerned. I'm watering every day now..Is this normal? Plant seems to want between 32 and 48oz. /day. With 48oz. 2 days in a row, I may have a little runoff show up in pot tray. I'm thinking light may be too much or watering too often is causing the spot. Should I not water every day?? I'm also having as little trouble maintaining heat and humidity overnight. During day when light is on, I'm seeing temps and humidity pretty stable at ~80* and 45%RH. When light goes off, temperature drops to a low of ~60* and humidity may climb to 70%. I think some of this is caused by dehumidifier and heater being in bottom of tent under canopy and monitoring/logging temp and humidity from an instrument mounted just above the canopy on side of tent. So maybe there's a thermocline right at the canopy? Could spots be caused by this temp and humidity variance? Day 49 - I took photos to my local grow store and they advised that my spots were caused by a calcium deficiency and that it's pretty common problem using our city water. So, I bought a bottle of Cal Mag and started using it today. Watered 48oz. with PH water mixed with Big Bloom and Cal Mag. We shall see what happens. She looked pretty good this morning and doesn't seem to be stretching vertical as much anymore. The bud sites are really starting to really fill out though. I also trimmed a few more bottom leaves that were yellowing a bit. I'm still having to monitor humidity and temp carefully but I suspect with the weather warming up here and the plant being pretty fully developed that I wont have to worry about it too much longer. I have no idea how much longer till harvest but time seems to be passing quickly and I better start figuring out what to do next.

What to do with vent flaps at bottom of my 2 x 2 tent? Exhaust fan running at ~33% speed with carbon filter in tent as intake. Tent In cold room (overnight temps 45-55*F) , running heater and humidifier in tent. Currently, 2 of 3 flaps tented at bottom of flap to allow air in.

I would close them to keep the heat inside. At this point there isn't much need for them to be open unless you have heat issues and wanted the cooler outer air to get in the tent.

Help! I thought I had this. Is this calcium deficiency? I've been using treated water (1tsp CalMag+ 1tsp Grow Big per gallon). It's just getting worse. See photos and descr. from past few days.

Hey man I just saw your question about harvesting...first the plant isn't ready to harvest yet. Your pistils really aren't starting to die off yet. You have several weeks to go from what I see. The damage on your leaves is a light or heat related issue. I would try to get the light as far away from them as possible so you can push them longer. Good luck!

Are you allowing for runoff when you feed & wAter? Mine are in 3 & 5 gal fabric pots and I’m watering ever 2 to 3 days.

@HiddenOp831, Humidity too high or too low? I found a great humidifier (and heater too) that's perfect for small grow tent. Winter here and tent is in cold room with ~25% RH.. That's why I'm running space heater and humidifier in tent.

@Gewroo, totally understand. I’m right there with you. This is my first auto, second grow. And my first grow was just one plant. I’m having humidity issues at the moment that I’m dealing with.

@HiddenOp831, Using plastic 5 gal. pot. I'm not really watching for saturation runoff. I did that initially before first planting to get idea of pot weight. Since then, I've just watered when it seems like pot got light. This seems to be accompanied by the first inch or so of soil to be very dry. I dunno. Seems to be working for me so far. After planting and during early veg stage, I was watering 1/4 gallon every 3 days or so.. At current stage, I'm giving plant about 1/4 gallon per day. I'm also stressing over keeping temperature and humidity in check. Other than that, I have no idea what I'm doing.. LOL

Good choice of seed for your first grow. A couple of them took longer than I was expecting for an auto but I was very happy with the results I had from this brand. Hope you enjoy your grow as much as I enjoyed mine.

Is the spotting happening on the top leaves? if yes, then it is a calcium defiicency, which by the pictures it appears to be the case. The problem with calcium deficiency is that the symptoms appear several weeks after the deficiency is present. At this point there is very little you can do. your water should always have a base of 0.5 EC (250 PPM), if not then you need to add cal mag to get to that point.

@@Athos, Thank you!! Not necessarily on just top leaves.. It seems to have started on lower leaves and spread up. I have cut out a lot of the lower leaves that were looking bad. Now it just seems all over. I have been using CalMag (1 tsp/gal) the last few days and yesterday I treated with Safer 3-in-1 Garden Spray for Rust fungus. I'm really suspicious of rust fungus because I've had occasions were nighttime temps were in the low 60s with 70% humidity. I've since started turning off humidifier at night and just let the humidity drop into the low 30s overnight.
