Starting to gain some weight now. IC is showing some purple of leaves, temps did hit an all time low of 18 during lights out recently.
IC is feeding heavier than OJ, taking about half a liter extra at each feed
Got some serious bud development now, and the smell! OJ honestly is starting to smell like someone's peeled an orange everytime I touch a bud! IC is also comming through with that distinct diesel smell, god I miss diesel in the mornings....
Had a decent defol just to clear up some space between the buds. IC is almost entirely purple now so I'm starting to think this is defo some rare pheno trait. Temps have been stable at 25 lights on and 20 lights off.
Just comming up on the start of week 8 and things are pretty much perfect, buds have weighted up very nicely, I have some minor bleeching on the very top of IC on a couple buds, must be a bit light sensitive, wish I had a bit more height!
Drying, I cut each stem, hang from net, no fans on just extraction on timer every 2 hours for 30 mins. Temps held solid between 18-19 degrees and minimal trim removed beforehand. I can still notice the smell fading and a hay like one taking over. Does anyone have any advice?
Wait until the stems make a snapping noise when bent but do not break clean apart. Then trim and cure in containers. A good cure can help that hay smell significantly.
All is looking very well in the last weeks, crystal coverage is abundant and overall aroma of the room whenever the tent is opened is tantalizing. Nutrient schedule switched up to a lower ratio to allow flavours to ripen. Have found a lot of leaves just coming off by its self, going to make trimming a much easier job :)
Final update before chop, sorry about photos my phone was out of action that week! These photos were taken on day 69 of flower and chop will be around day 75. Overall, I would defiantly say OJ is more suited to the scrogg technique, she trained much easier than IC which I found to be a bit difficult at times, it kept very stout and had thick foliage on numerous occasions which required attention and trimming. Nevertheless, I'm sure the pungent diesel flavour and potencity will more than make up for that ;)
OJ is a beautiful strain to work with and to smoke! Really did need minimum input from me and really suited the scrogg method. Really strong genetics and a decent yeild, this strain was the better of the two from start to finish to grow. For smoking the OJ is definitely a good day time smoke, strong enough you know about it but the high allows you to carry on being an active member of society 🤣
I grew this with a very red heavy spectrum. Nevertheless their is unmistakable smell of orange and just general tropicalness. I will be running this again under a HPS and have high hopes it's gonna stink the place out when done
Ice cool has been one of them legendary strains I've only heard about from friends and other growers. Pure diesel stank, laced with sweet orange overtones and a high that really makes you feel like your heads are literally in the clouds.
Now I didn't get the orange pheno... I did however end up with a beautiful diesel/skunk pheno with a high that I absolutely cannot get enough of. This is such a positive smoke, leaving you with a pure feeling of euphoria, don't think I'll ever get bored of this!
Ice cool has quickly become one of my favour smokes ever. Its not the best suited to a scrogg technique, but you can't defiantly make it work with some patients... It takes it time to stretch.
Flowing this bad boy is just a beautiful site, thick crystal coverage from very early on in flowing, the finished buds also look extremely frosty. Defiantly the more potent of the two.

It can turn purple in certain conditions as it can in other plants. Factors such as altitude or temperature, can stimulate the plant to show purple tones.

Thanks apollo! I've heard so much about IC over the years but never got a chance to try it, very excited with how she looks and smells I know she'd going to live up to the hype. I do have one question, have you ever heard of a purple IC pheno? My whole plant is turning purple around week 6/7 flower??
