Getting closer! Weather here is finally starting to turn warm including and after this weekend. That means I’ll be taking Cream Caramel, Bubba’s Gift #1 & #2 and Black D.O.G. outside to be transplanted in 45 gallon pots. Bit of a crazy week after taking my loupe to my soil and spotting a LOT of bulb mites in my soil. Nematodes surprised me with their presence too. Explains the issues I have been having with Jack Herer in my other tent. Thankfully despite them both existing in this tent the plants are doing quite well. Just a little LST and defoliation this week. They’re doing well and I just want to leave them be until they’re outside or remain in the tent with more space. I can’t wait to tie down Bubba’s Gift #3, Chemdawg’91, The New and Black D.OG. Plan is to give them about a week more and then flip them to 12hrs. Still just watering with dechlorinated water. Top dressed with 4-4-4, worm castings and insect Frass. Before that a Soil Drench one day with Neem oil and Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap mixed into Mosquito Dunk water for pest control. My mycorrhizae shipment won’t be arriving until May 20th so even if the plants go up this weekend I will leave them in their existing pots until I return next weekend.

Trouble in paradise. Issues with new growth on a few plants in my 2nd tent. Rather suddenly. Past experience lead me to suspect a pest eating my roots (no, not a deficiency). Checked soil. Bingo. Bulb mite? Best way to attack issue? I have 3 weeks before these go outdoors. Neem?

Hello.. Hope you are well.. Ive read that Hypoaspis mites Are a natural wat to get them little critters.. Just also read that Cosmolaelaps claviger, a beneficial mite that is a natural predator of bulb mites.. Contact ur local gardening centres or hyd3shops and ask if they stock these natural predators.. Stay safe n gud luck.. Please let me know if u are successful as i haven't tryed this myself yet luckily but never know for future reference.. 👍🍀

@jef79 with a great answer : biological solutions are the only solutions that really are sure to work with no damage to the quality of your bud. I personally use bacilus thuriengiensis, or ladybugs

What do you put in your tea? Just started a batch this morning myself? 💐🌸🌲🌵🌹🌺

HanzGrowzcommented5 years ago
@PotentiallyPotent, depends! Early Veg I have just been doing a simple molasses and worm casting tea with a tiny bit of liquid Kelp and Gaia Green 4-4-4 in there too. Later I’ll do a more fungal dominated tea in flower.

Pest management has been a major focus with everyone this year. I've sprayed down spider mites in mid veg then thrips and now the damn silk worms are repelling out of the fucking trees! Good luck and great looking grow.

@Obitrice, Haha seems like a never ending battle sometimes hey? I just try to keep the plant as healthy as I can so it can fight off whatever comes at it. Hope it all works out!

@Sweet_Seeds, very excited to give Cream Caramel CBD version a go. It was a freebie seed (and a pretty old one at that), so I’m just happy it’s popped and keeping up with the others so far!

Thanks all! I ended up using/ordering a combo of all three suggestions (Neem, Soap and predatory mites). Plants in this tent all still look good, and the other tent with most affected plant hanging in there. Outdoor organic environment will take care of these issues, and the mites I add should help for the 4 ladies I leave indoors and flip/flower for the next 70-75 days. Appreciate the support!

I also wanted to note I added Insect Frass and Worm Castings as a top dress. The Frass provides the only immediately plant available Chitin, which will help activate the plant’s auto-immune response. I mixed aloe Vera powder into my last watering as well to help the plant out. Later this weekend I will top dress with Malted Barley.
