No training, no defoliation.
Just water again this week.
Growth is steady but not rapid.
Chemdawg still appears to be front runner for yield, with Black Dog definitely looking like the runt winner. Scent on it is nice though.
Bubba smells fantastic in the back there but she’s not fattening up and I know she’s only got another 25 days left or so. Something tells me I may have forgotten she did the exact thing last year haha. The topping and training I did definitely changed bud site formation. Last year her shape was essentially “natural” with a main cola but the veg time this year made me change that. I definitely know even with this year’s 5-gallon vs last’s 7-gallon that I’m still likely to beat her 70grams in dry weight.
The New was steady and impressive in Veg, especially when I did HST. However after a decent start to flower she’s slowed a little. Resin production is impressive, Bud size, not yet. She has possibly 50 more days so I’m being patient with my full feedback
Slight tip burn visible on some plants that showed up soon after my last Gaia / Insect Frass / Kelp / Alfalfa / Aloe / Humic Acid feed a few weeks ago, ideally their last feed so I should have gone a tiny bit lighter. It’s not increasing though so I’m content.
Also! Sorry for the shitty blurple pics. I’m adding an old Mars as supplemental lighting for Chemdawg. She’s earned it and doesn’t seem to mind the extra attention.
Trouble in paradise. Issues with new growth on a few plants in my 2nd tent. Rather suddenly. Past experience lead me to suspect a pest eating my roots (no, not a deficiency). Checked soil. Bingo. Bulb mite? Best way to attack issue? I have 3 weeks before these go outdoors. Neem?
Hello.. Hope you are well.. Ive read that Hypoaspis mites Are a natural wat to get them little critters.. Just also read that Cosmolaelaps claviger, a beneficial mite that is a natural predator of bulb mites.. Contact ur local gardening centres or hyd3shops and ask if they stock these natural predators.. Stay safe n gud luck.. Please let me know if u are successful as i haven't tryed this myself yet luckily but never know for future reference.. 👍🍀
@jef79 with a great answer : biological solutions are the only solutions that really are sure to work with no damage to the quality of your bud. I personally use bacilus thuriengiensis, or ladybugs
@PotentiallyPotent, depends! Early Veg I have just been doing a simple molasses and worm casting tea with a tiny bit of liquid Kelp and Gaia Green 4-4-4 in there too. Later I’ll do a more fungal dominated tea in flower.
Pest management has been a major focus with everyone this year. I've sprayed down spider mites in mid veg then thrips and now the damn silk worms are repelling out of the fucking trees! Good luck and great looking grow.
@Obitrice, Haha seems like a never ending battle sometimes hey? I just try to keep the plant as healthy as I can so it can fight off whatever comes at it. Hope it all works out!
@Sweet_Seeds, very excited to give Cream Caramel CBD version a go. It was a freebie seed (and a pretty old one at that), so I’m just happy it’s popped and keeping up with the others so far!
Thanks all! I ended up using/ordering a combo of all three suggestions (Neem, Soap and predatory mites). Plants in this tent all still look good, and the other tent with most affected plant hanging in there. Outdoor organic environment will take care of these issues, and the mites I add should help for the 4 ladies I leave indoors and flip/flower for the next 70-75 days. Appreciate the support!
I also wanted to note I added Insect Frass and Worm Castings as a top dress. The Frass provides the only immediately plant available Chitin, which will help activate the plant’s auto-immune response. I mixed aloe Vera powder into my last watering as well to help the plant out. Later this weekend I will top dress with Malted Barley.
