This week I added a new light to my 5x5 tent. Mars Hydro TS3000. The plants reacted very well to it and shot up 2 inches in 3 days. Also a few new branches forming.
All four plants were topped and didn't show any signs of stress. A lot of growers say that you can't top Autos but I've always had really good results when I top between weeks 2 & 3. Some time this week I will start lst and eventually manifold the tops and branches.
Week 2 I began giving the girls Recharge to build up the microbials in the soil. I usually water twice a week and feed once a week.
Growth is exploding this week. All 4 plants are showing sex. Constantly having to move the garden wires that are holding each branch down because of new branches popping up. Think Like Buddha is growing wild. Its getting harder to contain her branches. Tops will start being trained to circle the pot this week. I'm only doing nutrients once a week for now and watering 1/4 gallon of water each plant. I think this will be the last grow with Fox Farms Ocean Forest and Happy Frog. Water puddles on the soil and runs off. Never had this problem before and I'm reading that ocean forest has 30% more wood than it did before. It's getting kind of annoying because I dont feel that the girls are getting enough water.
It's been a crazy week with these girls. Seems like every day I have to adjust the garden wire and pipe cleaners because the tops are rapidly growing. The next 2 weeks will consist of keeping the tops spaced apart. I'm expecting a ton of new growth this week.
Horrible pictures. I didn't have time to pull them out of the tent for their private photo shoots. This week I upped all of their nutrients to full dose plus some. I'm trying to hold a ppm of 1150-1200. They all got there last dose of cal mag for the grow. I had to do some trimming on two of the girls, bud sites were being blocked and I got rid of the lower leaves. Training is done, now I will just keep the branches separated while they fill in.
Think Like Buddha (Think Different x Purple Kush) is starting to show purples and trichomes are starting to pack the bud sites. This week has been kind of hectic with Think Like Buddha and the Sour Diesel. They started showing signs of nute burn. I'm thinking it's the Open Sesame because they handled the regular dose of Fox Farms just fine before I introduced the open sesame. I will hold off on nutes for the 2 plants for 2 weeks and I did a 3 gallon flush @ 6.5ph. Run off ppm was around 1100ppm, final run off after the flush was around 240ppm.
This week has been kinda up and down with the girls. Last week I thought they had nute burn after introducing them to the fox farms Open Sesame. I did a full flush on the Sour Diesel and Think Like Buddha. Within 24 hours more leaves started turning yellow with green vains. Did a little research and it turned out to be a magnesium deficiency. I did 1 watering with 5ml of cal mag, two days later a feeding with beastie bloomz & 5ml cal mag and today another watering with 5ml of cal mag. Most of the leaves that were fading out are now starting to turn green again. I think this week I will reintroduce the girls to Big Bloom and Tiger bloom along with one more feeding of Beastie Bloomz then on to Cha Ching from fox farms. Sour Diesel, Think Like Buddha and Cherry Bomb have really been packing on flowers. Pineapple Head Express just started increasing in size within the last 24 hours. Think Like Buddha is really sticky and frosted.
Not much of a difference this week. Flowers are packing on weight. Cherry bomb and think like Buddha have a few branches that are starting to sag from the weight. Beneficial fungi is really taking over the soil (recharge is working like its supposed to). I checked some trichomes with the scope 2 days ago. At this point I believe that Think Like Buddha and Sour Diesel will be ready for harvest within the next 2 weeks. Both are showing 60% cloudy trichomes with some amber. Cherry Bomb is still showing a lot of new bud production and has 40-50% cloudy trichomes, no amber. I'm guessing 3-4 more weeks. Pineapple head Express is showing around 30% cloudy trichomes, no amber. Looking at 4+ weeks on her.
Girls are still packing on weight. Trichomes are really starting to get cloudy. No major changes. Beneficial fungi is really starting to form in the soil. Recharge is definitely a good investment for microbes. This is the first grow that I've used any kind of mycorrhizae and I am very impressed. This will be one of my biggest harvests with autoflowers. If you haven't noticed, Think Like Buddha was not shown. Three days ago I decided to check her trichomes and low and behold she was 80% cloudy and 20% amber. I flushed her and she is currently in darkness.
This week has been kind of hectic. I am down to one plant in the grow off, pineapple head express from Maggie's. Trichomes are starting to get cloudy but she is also starting to pack on a lot of weight.
Feeding schedule this week has been 2 nutrient feedings in a row with one day in between feedings (ChaCing first feeding second feeding was Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, ChaChing and recharge). Then I did a gallon of water two days after the second feeding. Feeding ppm has been around 1300ppm, run off around 350ppm. So she is definitely feeding well.
Think like Buddha from Maggie's Auto Farm has been a great run. This plant exploded with growth from day 1. The smell has been really sweet like a lemon smell. Final dry weight was 146.8g.
This is a great strain to grow. Very easy but a lot of lst is required with all of the growth. Main cola is very thick and secondary branches are thin. She can take a lot of abuse. I split one of the branches a few weeks into the grow but the branch quickly recovered. I highly recommend using wood or bamboo dowels on the sides because the branches will droop from the weight of the buds.
