So last week i was having some issues. The lower fan leaves were gettimg brown spots and dying out at an alarming rate. Also there was some twisting in the leaves.
I had assumed this was a cal mag deficiency. But adding more didnt seem to help. Then I happened to notice one of the tubes in a bucket was slimy... yup... when i looked they all had a slimy film. I think i got lazy and left the lid off the reservoir for a couple days. Light must have gotten in and created algae.
I drained the whole system , cleaned, scrubbed, and replaced 100gallons of nutes. Sprayed off the roots. I also went back to my tried and trusted GH flora series. I was trying growth science but im afraid it may have contributed..??
System change and new nutes did WONDERS. Spotting and dying has ceased and they all appear to be thriving once again. Success!
I decided to upgrade my lights . I just want to try different options with each grow and see first hand what i like and don't. I tried a 1000w cooltube last run. This run i wanted to step it up and try a DE. Im in a tent though so i went with the air cooled one from Sun Systems. This light is HOT! Lol im also going to be getting a 600w LED for the other half of the tent to offset the heat a bit. It will also gice me a chance to compare the 2.
Til next week. Happy growing!
Hi @Yummynugz these deformations in the leaves seem to me to be genetic flaws in crossing. it will not affect you at all, many times after 4/5 the knot starts to form leaves without defects. good luck mate 🙏👍
Damnnnn! What a nice mainline!! I wish I had tried one of my first as one but I was afraid i'd run out of room.. Glad I didn't as it's full as heck. Come check it out! Notorious T.H.C. by Humboldt Seed Company! Gave ya a follow can't wait to see the harvest! Happy growing!
I have no experience with hydro, so I can't help much, but I can say that I have seen many young plants outgrow their awkwardness as many teens often do. Be sure to keep an eye on new growth, as older growth often indicates what was done in the past several weeks. Also keep good notes of your feeding, and keep an eye on your pH (remember it is a logarithmic scale). Good Luck🙏.
