So all my stuff arrived this week. Will be using fox farm ocean floor soil for this grow. I have blue dream going for this grow. My seeds are germinating and I don’t have pics of them from the paper towel and from when I first put them beneath to soil in the dixi cups. The soil I used was miracle grow bloom potting soil for my initial planting (now I know was probably not the best choice) but I actually noticed some great results to start with the grow. I’ll keep updating as I go and hope to get some great feed back and comments while I go along. Happy growing everyone.

So I moved the germinated seed into dixi cups with potting soil. I know a lot of people recommend not to do it but honestly I have heard my friends stick a seed in their back yard with some miracle grow and voila. I figured if I make a mistake early on, live and learn, and get back on your horse. But surprisingly these babies blew up. Seriously was blow away by how big and bushy they were getting.

I noticed over the last week the growth wasn’t as big as I had expected, but it’s my first grow and I’m inexperienced. I felt that maybe the plants had out grown the dixi cups I had started with, so my goal was to transplant this week, as well as introduce a sleep cycle to help the root systems develop and give them a break from the transplant shock. I also noticed the leaves seemed to be showing some kind of nutrient burn or lock out, and I would later find out what I believe to be the reason why. At first I assumed nutrient burn, since the plants had grown really fast, but I had used a potting soil for the initial planting from paper-towel germinating. I figured that the roots were developing and that the nutrients in the soil were over kill. So I prepped my water with MagNifiCal from Reno nutrients to help flush out an balance the nutrient overload. But then, my PH tester arrived and found out I had been watering with water that was way to high in PH. Thankfully I was mostly using bottled water till this point, and just used some of the really high ph tap water to dampen the soil during the transplant. Regardless, it was probably nutrient lock out as my new growth was seemingly happy, and it seemed like the nutrients it was missing were being vampired from the lower growth. I gave the plant a decent feeding with the mixture I prepped to help lower the ph in the soil and get them back on track. This week I am hoping to help the plants rebound from my negligent watering with water that was not ph tested. When I ph tested the water I was using I found the bottled water I used when I started the germination process was 7.3 or so, and then my tap water once boiled was actually at a ph of 8.5 and up. Anyone know if this will screw my crop entirely from this point forward? They seem to be recovering from the negligence, and are peeking up nicely. I did start to notice a skunky / piney smell in my tent today after waking up the ladies. Any questions or feed back hit me up.

This week I noticed a decent increase in height and I figured I should get LST started. I wanted to wait to transplant my ladies, but due to covid, my supply of soil is not here yet, and I can’t fill my 10 gallon pots for the transplant. I looked up online and people said you should be able to transplant the plant successfully by cutting the ties and ensuring you just don’t disturb the roots / medium. I went ahead and got started with LST and I accidentally snapped one of my plants main stems during the process. I mean literally snapped, could see the hollow centres, hanging by a thread of fibre. *so heart broke * I had read online e you can repair it with duct tape and that aloe Vera helps. I did not have duct tape handy but I got some aloe and used the ducting tape that came with my exhaust fan to try to secure it. Fingers crossed it’ll heal If I had some root stimulant I would’ve tried planting it but I don’t have any. I was wondering could that be a form of super cropping? Do you think it’ll just be like a really brutal attempt at topping the plant? Very curious about everyone else’s thoughts on this Pics are attached. Aside from that one my LST went well from what I can tell. I did not train my blue dream out of fear of wrecking my one plant of that strain. I also did not LST one of my mystery caramel due to the stem feeling the same as the one that snapped. The rest I tied down and attached photos can you guys tell me if it looks like I did it correctly ? Would love some feed back. All in all I feel like we are kicking off the week strong. Good growing to everyone

Do you guys think my plant will recover with the main stem break? Details are in the journal but basically it completely snapped, was hanging by a thread of fibre. I used some allow and ducting tap that came with my exhaust.

I've done this to a couple plants over the years and more often then not the plant recovers. If you got that tape one there and the two pieces of stem tight together it should heal in a week or two. Keep tape on there for a while tho!!! If the top that broke off is wilting and leaves feel limp and soft likely it's been damaged too much

You've done it like someone who has follow a step by step method and you've done it right. I can't see any things wrong in your LST , maybe you could use LST + topping to build a bushier shape ans increase the secondaries growth while keeping the a flat cannopy.

the leaves falling down are not a good sign but just leave it and let it do its thing it took my plant a couple weeks to heal up and recover fully dont get impatient and take the tape off just let it do its thing it if it dies it dies but give it a shot anyway man

So I flipped to flower this week. And the canopy looked great i lollipopped / defoliate and the plants practically grew back to full bush in a day installed a scrog net and stretched out the canopy and things were going great Were... Then the pollen sacs showed up. I basically made a face like my profile pic. Had to cut out the scrog net and bring those plants out to be snipped. Permanently.

Stretched the scrog over the plants. Hoping to get some support as them juicy buds start to grow. Don’t know exactly how to place light but I’ll keep an eye on it. Super cropping is working well and getting fat knuckles. Happy growing.

Flowering seems to be going well, height is becoming a bit of a concern but I have some idea of how to better hang the carbon filter to allow more height clearance for the cannabis buds Looking forward to seeing the fruits of my labor from my first grow. Been an up and down ride and I’ve implemented a lot of growing techniques for my first grow. Thanks to everyone who’s left a comment and a kind word thus far. Happy growing.

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by my grow page for yet another update for this week. My plants have been responding fine to the way I’ve been feeding and so I haven’t adjusted the formula at all, as I’ve seen no sign of deficiency or toxicity in my plants. Both strains are producing an abundance of pistils and flowers, I can really tell how beneficial the low stress training can be especially when comparing the two plants side by side I’m checking on the branch daily and you can see in my photo that there was definitely some burn damage to that nug. Hopefully it’s minimal and the plant can recover at that site. Any information or insight into the issue wild be greatly appreciated. Thanks for stopping by again and as always happy growing everyone.

Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to stop by and read about my grow. This week the blue Dream have freshly frosted up. I know I repeat that over and over but I’m blow away by how great they’re looking and it’s only been 4/5 weeks of flower leading up to this. They’re really begging to get dense and I’m eager to see my yields. I’m growing in a short grow tent (5’tall) but feel I’ve really maximized the space using training, Scrog, and finally monster cropping. The strain has been a pleasure to grow so far and would consider trying to get more of this seed from I49 or try some of their other genetics. I can’t wait to taste the buds and give you guys a great review of the final product. Happy growing everybody!

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by for yet another week of my grow diary. I did a major defoliation of my plant to try and help with light penetration and help with the relative humidity levels in my tent they’re sitting roughly between 68% above my canopy and 80% in my canopy. It could be a faulty hygrometer that’s providing the huge difference in readings, but if I am to work under the assumption that the actual RH is somewhere in the middle there, it’s still way to high than I’d like. I’ve bought a small dehumidifier to address the issue as I really don’t see any other option at the point. Ultimately I’m not to upset about the extra investment as I’m sure it’ll come in handy during the drying process. As for the ladies themselves they look fantastic. Buds are fattening up and the pistils are beginning to turn a bright fiery orange. Unfortunately I’m seeing bananas on one of the plants. For those of you who don’t know, a banana (or nanner) is a pollen producing organ that can sometimes develop on female plants when they flower. It’s not uncommon to happen to plants that are left to flower to long, as it’s basically a plants biological response to the end of its seasonal life cycle, and it tries to self pollinate in an attempt to preserve its own genetics through seedlings. It can happen also due to high stress being introduced to the plant, whether that be light leaks, pests, defoliating to late into flower, heat stress, etc. In my case I think it’s a case of stress the defoliating I did the couple of days prior, in addition to the light stress that occurred when it grew into the LED over night must’ve stressed the plant out a bit to cause the bananas to form. I don’t know how quick they can form but 24-48 hrs seems reasonable enough. I gave the whole plant a good look over and really only saw 2 of them. I clipped them out of the bud and ate them (yes, I’m not monkeying around here, I ate the bananas to dispose of them) and will continue to watch the plant to ensure I don’t see any more forming up if, or more likely when it gets outta control and I feel pollination is inevitable, I’ll harvest the plant. Given it’s really only flowered for 4 weeks or so now, it’s a bit too soon at this point. All in all the buds look fantastic. I am very happy with the tolerance and resilience of these genetics but the early nanners are making me worry. Both plants have nice hues of colour. Good luck everyone and happy growing.

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by my grow diary. More pics to follow, just got my microscope and was eager to use it as I was honestly very underwhelmed by what I could see with a jewellers loupe. I know that is the recommended tool by most people that I have seen on forums and sites in order to check on the development of the plant. Personally, I can see why if this is the tool being used that there is such a huge discrepancy in people’s harvest times and why people seem to think majority of growers will harvest to early The jewellers loupe was challenging to use. Unless I was pressing tight up to the buds, and probably damaging them, I wasn’t able to get a good and focused zoom on the buds. Even when the loupe was held to the phone it was a pain to use and I couldn’t get a clear image. Additionally, the viewing lenses were small and the only one I saw even being useable was the 30x mag. The 60x mag was way to challenging to use to get a good and clear look at the tris. The USB microscope, while not easy to use to snap clear focused photos, was a big joy to use just to get a clear view of the tris. It did take some messing around but I feel a lot more confident with the images I was able to see and capture than I ever was with the jewellers loupe. In my opinion most definitely worth the extra 40$ if your looking to judge your harvest in this way. ***UPDATE**** 29th Omg the smell of the blue Dream is so amazing it smells like a blue berry pie up in my tent right now it’s making me smile uncontrollably in anticipation of this harvest ***UPDATE*** July 1 So I’ve been watching the trichomes and they’re milky with a hand full of amber showing up here and there. I’ve decided now is a good time to start (technically continue cause last feed was a PH water only feed) the flush. I’m guessing they’ll be ready to chop in about a week so I am a little behind the flushing out process, but I have been consistently following a feeding schedule where I only included nutrients every 3rd feed so I don’t imagine I have a lot of build up in the soil anyways. Never had toxicity or deficiency issues I was aware of so fingers crossed with a proper dry and cure I’ll be set with my first harvest soon! ***Update*** July 3rd I keep checking the trichomes daily, and it’s truly time. Most tops are showing about 10% amber at most. The rest are all milky. Even the smaller buds beneath the upper canopy are showing completely milky trichomes despite the pistils being about 10-20 percent orange at the moment. I have the ladies one last feed of straight ph water (6.5) and have pulled the plugs on the lights putting them back to sleep about 30 mins earlier than scheduled. I’m going to leave the ladies in the dark for the next 24 -36 hours Depending on my schedule and allow the plants to ripen up their thc levels overnight a bit more. I am going to check on the tris every twelve hours and just make sure I’m not seeing a massive increase in ambers. If I do I’ll chop earlier than I was planning and begin my drying process. I have to admit this really snuck up on me. I’m hardly reaching the end of week seven and am pretty well on track to be harvesting for the beginning of week 8. The breeder online stated this strain is a 9 week flower but I am looking for a more active high balanced with euphoric state of mind and pain relief, and feel like letting the plants run on the full 9 will result in a CBN heavy harvest. I’ve attached pics of the ladies and their tris to this weeks photos. I’ll be checking back with updates for you guys as the time for harvest approaches. As always, happy growing everyone!

So this was my first grow, and I felt it went smoothly overall. I had some bumps in the road with males, as well as one plant beginning to throw nanners early into flower, but over It doesn’t seem to have impacted my harvest overall. I love a lot about the strain the flavour, aroma, potency, type of high, checking a lot of boxes. I’m just wishing I had fatter buds. The density is great though. It could be the genetics, more than likely it’s just something I can improve on with my growing experience.

So I got just over 7oz in my final grow. My scale doesn’t weigh in fractional grams, which is fine because my medicine is all for personal consumption. So I just take the weights at face value and add a gram given I had four weigh ups that were likely over the exact gram weight that was displayed. All in al I got 7 oz (4 from one plant in the 10 gal container and 3 from the plant in the 5 gallon container.). It is hard to say if the difference in weight is a result of the extra size in the pot because the differences in the plants life (plant 1 had more extensive training and plant 2 was grown outdoor for a portion of its life) I love the flavour and aroma of this bud and burping is a pleasure just to get a whiff of the goodness. I’m looking forward to growing some strains from some more reputable genetics. My next grow will be some auto flowers as opposed to the photo periods to try something new. I’m happy with the results and the fruits of my labour. Happy growing everyone!

@KenSpliffeyJr, Looks like it yes. I have just recently gone through this with a glookies strain. I didn’t notice it hermied until too late. Wasted a lot of time for a subpar harvest, could’ve ruined the other plants as well. Me being stubborn thought it could be worth it to grow it out. So far wishing I had destroyed her. Lots of work cleaning after pollen, it will never be a happy plant. Just my 2 cents. Keep it realz. Greazy
