Week 7 - Gelato #33 Auto All measurements are per 1L of water Start of week 7! Day 43 (Flower Day 15) - Wow halfway through 12 weeks already. I'm excited and the ladies are all doing great. I've got the light at 80% power (drawing 240w out of the possible 300w) and they seem to like that best currently. When i tried it at full power their leaves would start to fold downward towards the end of the day. Still waiting on my cheap LUX meter so i can halfway figure out the PAR rating as the light seems more powerful than what the manufacturer lists on their website for their readings interestingly enough. I mixed up 9 Liters total today, 3 for the purple punch and 2 for the rest. The purple punch seems the thirstiest and always has the least amount of runoff so i wanted to make sure she got a decent amount of runoff. I did also test the runoff and it came out to EC 1.2 and PH 6.8 which i think is fine for what i've been feeding them. The total mixture this week was as follows (per 1L measurements as always) also note the A and B are slightly strange as i just did 20mL of A and B for the 9 Liters of water which came out to the following: - water 0.2 EC added CaMg to 0.5 EC / 0.5 Rhizotonic / 2.22mL A / 2.22mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2.22mL Boost for a final reading of EC 1.4 and PH 6.2 - Going forward I think I may keep the dose of A and B under 2.5mL per Liter as the plants seem just fine with it and their stretching and growth phase seem complete, now they just seem to be filling out the bud sights and growing new leaves here and there. Day 44 (Flower Day 16) - Slow day today, just a regular feed of 2L each and a few leaves defoliated here and there, not much. Feed was as follows: water 0.2 EC added CaMg to 0.5 EC / 0.5 Rhizotonic / 2.0mL A / 2.0mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2.5mL Boost for a final reading of EC 1.4 and PH 6.2 - Will post new pics with some measurements tomorrow but i think they've stopped stretching (thankfully). Day 45 (Flower Day 17) - Rained again all day so humidity back up near 60%. There was quite a bit of runoff from yesterday so they are pretty saturated and with the already high humidity i didnt want to chance bumping it up anymore. I'm skipping feeding them today as the medium is still very dark and saturated. They'll be getting a full feed tomorrow. I took measurements today. Gelato #33 seems to be the same height and the rest grew a little bit. Day 46 (Flower Day 18) - Humidity still hovering around 60% but i have hope for the weather getting better. If it persists i'll be getting a dehumidifier. Fed the ladies 9L total today, 2L each and 3L for the Purple Punch as she's always the thirstiest. All had about 10% runoff. The feed was as follows: water 0.2 EC added CaMg to 0.5 EC / 0.5 Rhizotonic / 2.25mL A / 2.25mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2.25mL Boost for a final reading of EC 1.6 and PH 6.1 - Will update tomorrow with pictures. Day 47 (Flower Day 19) - Finally stopped raining and the next week the weather is starting to warm up in time for summer (finally). I didnt feed the ladies today as their medium was still very moist at the top and sides. I feel that as they've stopped stretching that they've gotten a little less thirsty now. Tomorrow I'll try 1.5L feed each and see how they like that. Everyone's starting to flower with the Purple Punch being the largest but the slowest to flower. The Critical Jack Herer is looking beautiful and Gelato#33 is really catching up in flowering with White Widow not far behind them. Day 48 (Flower Day 20) - Fed the ladies 2L each of the following nutrients: water 0.2 EC added CaMg to 0.5 EC / 0.5 Rhizotonic / 2.0mL A / 2.0mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2.0mL Boost for a final reading of EC 1.5 and PH 6.1 - Will update tomorrow with pictures. Day 49 (Flower Day 21) - End of week 7! Ladies have been hungry so I fed them 3L each today of the following nutrients: water 0.2 EC added CaMg to 0.5 EC / 0.5 Rhizotonic / 2.25mL A / 2.25mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2.25mL Boost for a final reading of EC 1.6 and PH 5.8 - They all look healthy and thriving. I noticed that the trunk of the purple punch is much larger than the others, which is probably why she's the tallest. I think Barney might be wrong on their genetics as she looks way more sativa than the indica that they note. Oddly enough its the Critical Jack Herer that's suppose to have the lone (most) sativa genetics of the group and she looks the most indica from her leave profile. Check out the pics, more to come for week 8 and i'll take measurements tomorrow to start it off!

Worried if the tips of the new growth are exhibiting any signs of a micro-nutrient deficiency, CaMg? I've been feeding her CaMg but not every feed, about once every 3 days.

You may have a light stress issue, I see the serrations on the leaves are starting to curl up a little bit. I've had this problem as well. Try either moving your light up or turning down the intensity, and see if you notice a difference in 3 days.

I second @smoke24 about light stress. Had the same with my HLG fixtures, these new led diodes are mega powerful with minimal heat, the good old rules to determine light heights you find on sites apply to HPS/MH mostly, but not high end LEDs. Try to stick with the manual that comes with the light, however I had to move my HLG a few inches further than listed on their site cuz it slowly burned my babies with too intense light (not heat).

@Lord_Gabe_Newell, Ya I think you're both right. I've already moved the light up. We'll see if thats enough. I have a lot more room to move it up as these girls are shorties

@teddaykgb, Thank you sir! I'm trying as best i can, hopefully a good result will come but who knows? Atleast with my 2nd grow i'll have crazy notes of where i went wrong or right that i can maybe change πŸ˜‚

@smoke24 Thanks for your help. I think that is exactly what it is, light stress. I havent measured my plants in awhile and some of them grew closer than 60cm (50cm about). I've since raised the light. Thanks again for your astute observation and help!

Yes Yesss Brother 😊 Good to see a fresh update on the babies and they're all looking super fine my friend!! I know you was having a few issues but it looks like everything is in order and tidy man!πŸ‘ Have you been watering with runoff or do you just stick to a certain amount of water only? I noticed you're only feeding 1ltr in a bigger pot but I've been feeding my plant 3ltr per day in an 11ltr pot to get my PPM correct on runoff and my PH runoff has been perfect too! I don't know if it's the best way but it's been working so well I don't wonna change Shit!!!!! πŸ˜• On my first grow I didn't do this and on flushing my PPM was CRAZY high which made me do things different this time round!! It made me concerned that they were sitting in a high concentration without me knowing because I hadn't runoff properly!! Respects πŸ˜‰

@@Lit_1, You're a lucky man bud with humidity perfect then!!! πŸ‘. So good that it remains low where you are as we know what high humidity can do for the babies!! Speak soon brother πŸ˜‰

@Bushbaby808, I just took out the humidifier (Rowenta Aqua Perfect) a few days ago as it wasnt kicking on anymore since i set it for 45% and thats where it seems to be without it. Outside humidity in the room is about 38% on average, inside the tent it seems to range from 38-48% which i think is ok, although maybe on the low side for the plants health. I'm paranoid against budrot though so i think i'm ok with it being that low. I live near the mountains so the humidity isnt very high here and its been raining quite a bit lately so that always spikes it up. During the day and night i try to keep the window cracked open for fresh air/cO2 and equalize the temperature in the tent. I'm hoping these conditions will be good but as you said we'll see what happens and we're learning as we go 😎

@@Lit_1, Yes bruv, more than likely a bitta both to be honest!!! I'm definitely moving up a pot size next time as I've got roots peepin out all over pot so I'm sure she would've flourished with more room!!! Hahaaaa, the venture continues.......Let's see what happens man, we're learning as we go!!! How are you doing with regards to humidity? There's no way I'm gonna be able to clock a 30-40% for late harvest!!! What dehumidifier do you run and do you deal with humidity inside or outside the tent?

Your running your ph a little high for soiless in the veg stage. 5.8 is ideal for what the plants want at this stage. You only need to add a little calmag if your using coco coir. Ppm should be 4 to 500 until they start to vigorously grow

Lit_1commented5 years ago
@GMSgrows, Thank you. I've been using Nitric acid as my PH down during Veg as it breaks down to nitrogen just for this reason (during flower i switch to phosphoric acid). It also has to be a micro nutrient 'immobile' issue as its in the new growth and not the old growth. Nitrogen is a mobile nutrient and i believe the leaf color is healthy besides the new growth tips, which indicates micro nutrients. I'm not sure if its just because they are so new and i'm trying to see a problem where there isnt one. I believe its good to let the PH fluctuate a little bit in the healthy range so that the plant can take up certain nutrients it needs at more optimum PH levels. I'm not really a believer in runoff levels as you can get a pretty large discrepancy depending on your runoff on which nutrients happen to wash out during that time and which do not. Thanks for the help though all the same, i do appreciate it!

GMSgrowscommented5 years ago
@@Lit_1,your correct there. But 5.8 is where your babies take up more nitrogen, that keeps your leaves green. Can't say for sure its calmag issue, if it is there is a reason why. Check your runoff make sure the ec is not way higher than what's going in. Luck my friend
Lit_1
Lit_1commented5 years ago
@GMSgrows, 6.2 is the proper PH for maximum CaMg uptake. The range of 5.6 to 6.6 is generally whats recommended. Still this doesn't answer my question "if the tips of the new growth are exhibiting any signs of a micro-nutrient deficiency, CaMg?"
