Week 5 - Gelato #33 Auto All measurements per 1 liter of water Day 29 (Flower Day 1) - Everyone looking healthy, I'm quite excited to start this flowering phase. As stated yesterday (day 28) in week 4 I've lowered the Rhizotonic, changed from Nitric acid to Phosphoric acid, and added Boost. I fed them twice yesterday 2L each of solution and in that solution i have them 2.5mL of Boost per liter to get the substrate nice and saturated with it. Going forward at least for now I'll be maintaining 2mL of boost per liter of water. Today they'll just be getting 1L of solution each consisting of the following and in this order: water with EC of 0.2 added 0.25mL Ca and 0.1mL Mg to an EC of 0.5. I always let this sit for awhile and stir occasionally to give time for the water to get to room temperature and for the Ca and Mg to bind together. Then I add 1.25mL Rhizotonic / 2.5mL A / 2.5mL B / 2mL Cannazyme / 2mL Boost and about 0.25mL of Phosphoric acid to bring my PH from 7 to its final reading of EC 1.8 / PH 6.3 Day 30 (Flower Day 2) - I think they grew another 5-10cm overnight, maybe from the boost, maybe just part of their flower grow rate, either way great growth. Will post pics with measurements tomorrow. Normal feed today consisting of CaMg water to EC 0.5 / 1.25mL Rhizo / A 2.5mL / B 2.5mL / Cannazyme 2mL / Boost 2mL for a final reading of PH 6.1 / EC 1.7 ... I'm updating the watering rate from 1L per 24h to 1.5L per 24 hours to better reflect the reality. Every other day i'm feeding 1L of water then the next 2L of water so it equals out to 1.5L a day. Day 31 (Flower Day 3) - 2L of nutrients for everyone today. They sure are getting big, i took another measurement so you can see the difference in two days. Feed was as follows: Water EC 0.2 added CaMg to EC 0.5 / 1.25mL Rhizo / 2.5mL A / 2.5mL B / 2mL Cannazyme / 2.5mL Boost (up from 2.0mL, not sure which i'll stick with but just seeing how they like it for now). To a total of PH 6.1 / EC 1.8 Day 32 (Flower Day 4) - Another 2L of nutrients today. The ladies are very thirsty lately being in flower mode so i'm updating the watering volume per plant per 24h to 2L. I'll probably keep the 2L feeding schedule a day. I dont water all 2L at once, I normally feed them 1L when they wake up and a few hours later another 1L which gives good runoff and gives them time to absorb the nutrients without wasting too much nutrient. First solution was: water CaMg to EC 0.5 then 1.25mL Rhizo / 2.5mL A / 2.5mL B / 2mL Cannazyme / 2mL Boost for a final reading of PH 6.3 EC 1.8 and the second feeding was the same but the water was EC 0.4 after the CaMg treatment and the measurements but came out to PH 6.1 and EC 1.7 will update tomorrow with pictures. Day 33 (Flower Day 5) - Everyone looking great. The Critical Jack Herer has really grown up fast, she's not the shortest anymore. The Gelato #33 is now the shortest (not by much) but has the most developed flowers. Purple Punch is still the big lady and White Widow is really doing well, she doesnt seem phased at all from her accidental topping. Everyone starting to develop their flowers (see photos). Feeding same as yesterday, 2L per plant. I did defoliate just a little bit to maximize the light to the cola sites and tucked fan leaves when possible. First 1L was the same measurements as yesterday with a final PH 6.3 / EC 1.8 and the second feeding a few hours later was PH 6.1 / EC 1.7 Day 34 (Flower Day 6) - A bit more defoliating today as the humidity's been creeping up as its been raining outside. Humidity levels peaked at 65%, since defoliating a bit and airing out the tent its down to 50% which is where i want it. Standard feed of 2L per plant today with a final reading of PH 6.3 / EC 1.8 - Pictures to follow tomorrow. Day 35 (Flower Day 7) - Last day of the week. I added in my trellis net to somewhat help me keep the plants a bit more organized and also to get a little experience with it as next grow i intend to use it to greater effect (and earlier). It's certainly not a scrog or even a sog at this point as i started so late but it does help me keep the flowers a bit separated from each other and its easier for me to try to keep their light penetration up. The other added benefit is the fan in the back middle it allows me to keep the plants away from it somewhat. Its been raining a ton where i live and will continue all week so the humidity has really crept up, reach as high as 65% however it seems to normally be a bit below 60% which is fine for now. I defoliated although i didnt want to, to try to keep the humidity down and to maximize light penetration as much as possible. I've also bought a much larger bucket that makes feeding much easier, instead of two different 1L feeds they get 2L at once, although i do try to water them as slowly as possible. The interesting thing here is that the Purple punch i get maybe 10% runoff from this but the other three ladies i'm getting 30%+ runoff. I guess the Purple Punch is just a thirsty girl. The feeding today was the same as I'm trying to keep things normal for them since i've been defoliating a bit everyday this week. Next week i'll be lowering the Rhizotonic (the roots are at the very bottom and sides of the 20L softpot) and seeing how they like upping their A and B slightly. Their feed was as follows: EC 0.2 water CaMg to EC 0.5 / 1.25mL Rhizo / 2.5mL A / 2.5mL B / 2mL Cannazyme / 2mL Boost for a final PH 6.3 / EC 1.6

Worried if the tips of the new growth are exhibiting any signs of a micro-nutrient deficiency, CaMg? I've been feeding her CaMg but not every feed, about once every 3 days.

You may have a light stress issue, I see the serrations on the leaves are starting to curl up a little bit. I've had this problem as well. Try either moving your light up or turning down the intensity, and see if you notice a difference in 3 days.

I second @smoke24 about light stress. Had the same with my HLG fixtures, these new led diodes are mega powerful with minimal heat, the good old rules to determine light heights you find on sites apply to HPS/MH mostly, but not high end LEDs. Try to stick with the manual that comes with the light, however I had to move my HLG a few inches further than listed on their site cuz it slowly burned my babies with too intense light (not heat).

@Lord_Gabe_Newell, Ya I think you're both right. I've already moved the light up. We'll see if thats enough. I have a lot more room to move it up as these girls are shorties

@teddaykgb, Thank you sir! I'm trying as best i can, hopefully a good result will come but who knows? Atleast with my 2nd grow i'll have crazy notes of where i went wrong or right that i can maybe change πŸ˜‚

@smoke24 Thanks for your help. I think that is exactly what it is, light stress. I havent measured my plants in awhile and some of them grew closer than 60cm (50cm about). I've since raised the light. Thanks again for your astute observation and help!

Yes Yesss Brother 😊 Good to see a fresh update on the babies and they're all looking super fine my friend!! I know you was having a few issues but it looks like everything is in order and tidy man!πŸ‘ Have you been watering with runoff or do you just stick to a certain amount of water only? I noticed you're only feeding 1ltr in a bigger pot but I've been feeding my plant 3ltr per day in an 11ltr pot to get my PPM correct on runoff and my PH runoff has been perfect too! I don't know if it's the best way but it's been working so well I don't wonna change Shit!!!!! πŸ˜• On my first grow I didn't do this and on flushing my PPM was CRAZY high which made me do things different this time round!! It made me concerned that they were sitting in a high concentration without me knowing because I hadn't runoff properly!! Respects πŸ˜‰

@@Lit_1, You're a lucky man bud with humidity perfect then!!! πŸ‘. So good that it remains low where you are as we know what high humidity can do for the babies!! Speak soon brother πŸ˜‰

@Bushbaby808, I just took out the humidifier (Rowenta Aqua Perfect) a few days ago as it wasnt kicking on anymore since i set it for 45% and thats where it seems to be without it. Outside humidity in the room is about 38% on average, inside the tent it seems to range from 38-48% which i think is ok, although maybe on the low side for the plants health. I'm paranoid against budrot though so i think i'm ok with it being that low. I live near the mountains so the humidity isnt very high here and its been raining quite a bit lately so that always spikes it up. During the day and night i try to keep the window cracked open for fresh air/cO2 and equalize the temperature in the tent. I'm hoping these conditions will be good but as you said we'll see what happens and we're learning as we go 😎

@@Lit_1, Yes bruv, more than likely a bitta both to be honest!!! I'm definitely moving up a pot size next time as I've got roots peepin out all over pot so I'm sure she would've flourished with more room!!! Hahaaaa, the venture continues.......Let's see what happens man, we're learning as we go!!! How are you doing with regards to humidity? There's no way I'm gonna be able to clock a 30-40% for late harvest!!! What dehumidifier do you run and do you deal with humidity inside or outside the tent?

Your running your ph a little high for soiless in the veg stage. 5.8 is ideal for what the plants want at this stage. You only need to add a little calmag if your using coco coir. Ppm should be 4 to 500 until they start to vigorously grow

@GMSgrows, Thank you. I've been using Nitric acid as my PH down during Veg as it breaks down to nitrogen just for this reason (during flower i switch to phosphoric acid). It also has to be a micro nutrient 'immobile' issue as its in the new growth and not the old growth. Nitrogen is a mobile nutrient and i believe the leaf color is healthy besides the new growth tips, which indicates micro nutrients. I'm not sure if its just because they are so new and i'm trying to see a problem where there isnt one. I believe its good to let the PH fluctuate a little bit in the healthy range so that the plant can take up certain nutrients it needs at more optimum PH levels. I'm not really a believer in runoff levels as you can get a pretty large discrepancy depending on your runoff on which nutrients happen to wash out during that time and which do not. Thanks for the help though all the same, i do appreciate it!

@@Lit_1,your correct there. But 5.8 is where your babies take up more nitrogen, that keeps your leaves green. Can't say for sure its calmag issue, if it is there is a reason why. Check your runoff make sure the ec is not way higher than what's going in. Luck my friend

@GMSgrows, 6.2 is the proper PH for maximum CaMg uptake. The range of 5.6 to 6.6 is generally whats recommended. Still this doesn't answer my question "if the tips of the new growth are exhibiting any signs of a micro-nutrient deficiency, CaMg?"
