Gelato #33 Diary Week 2: (all measurements per liter) - I'm using Nitric Acid for my PH down (Will switch to Phosphoric Acid during Flower) Day 8 - Fed the girls a very light mixture 4 liter bucket of water (1 liter each) consisting of 1mL canna-coco A / 1mL canna-coco B / 2mL Rhizotonic / 2mL Cannazyme / and 0.5mL of PH Down to bring my levels to PH 6.0 / EC 1.0 Day 9: Fed the girls this time only 500ml of water each (2liters total for the day) - 1.25mL canna A / 1.25mL canna B / 2.5mL Rhizo / 2mL Cannazyme / 0.5mL ph down bringing my levels to PH 6.2 / EC 1.0 Day 10: Rotated them all 45 degrees - Same feed as yesterday - 500ml of water each (2liters total for the day) - 1.25mL canna A / 1.25mL canna B / 2.5mL Rhizo / 2mL Cannazyme / PH 5.9 / EC 1.4 Day 11: Stepped up to 4L of water (1L each) - Ratio's per liter - 1.5mL canna A / 1.5mL canna B / 2mL Rhizo / 2mL Cannazyme / PH 5.9 / EC 1.4 --- Also made a foliage spray of 1L water (0.2 EC) and 1mL Rhizo, brought PH to 6.1. Sprayed the underside of all the leaves, then the top sides. I let sit for a few minutes then gently blotted only the tops of the leaves as to not magnify the light intensity on them. I also brought down the LED light from 80cm to 70cm - All are looking healthy with nice growth. Day 12: 4L of water (1L each) - same amount and ratio as yesterday - 1.5mL canna A / 1.5mL canna B / 2mL Rhizo / 2mL Cannazyme / PH 5.9 / EC 1.4 --- Used the left over foliage spray i made yesterday, the PH has crept up to 6.3 which i think is still fine. Will probably make new next time. After i spray the UNDER side of the leaves i make sure to take a dry soft paper towel and gently get any droplets on the TOP of the leaves so they do not magnify the light and burn them. I also lowered the light from 70cm to 65cm today (eventually 60cm will be where its headed in a day or two). Just want to get them acclimated slowly and methodically. They all have a faint wonderful smell now, each unique in its own right. Day 13: Two feedings today, I wasnt getting much run off the past two days so i wanted to make sure to get plenty this time to flush out any salts and make sure the large 5gallon(20liter) pots are nice and saturated. First feeding in the morning a few hours after the LED popped back on from its timer. --- 4L water with a EC of 0.2, added Calcium and Magnesium seperately in a 4 to 1 ratio to bring the EC up to 0.5 / 2mL A / 2mL B / 2mL Rhizo /2mL Cannazyme for a total PH 5.9 / EC 1.6 ------------ hardly any runoff ------- 2nd daily feeding no CalMag this time / 4L water / 2mL A / 2mL B / 2mL Rhizo / 2mL Cannazyme for a PH 5.9 / EC 1.4 --- Plenty of runnoff, will return to 1L per plant a day tomorrow and monitor the runoff amount to make sure its getting all the way through so no salts buildup. Will post a new picture tomorrow. Day 14: 4L water 0.2 EC added Calcium & Magnesium in a 4 to 1 ratio bringing EC to 0.4 --- 2mL A / 2mL B / 2mL Rhizo / 2mL Cannazyme for a PH 6.1 / EC 1.6 -- Perfect amount of runnoff. I'm back to 1L per plant a day and 1 feeding per day if this amount of runoff continues What a week, they've grown so fast. Each are doing great and any worries seem to be in the past and gone. I think I'm getting the feel for the nutrient mixtures and the plants seem to be responding well. Next week I'll be doing some LST for the very first time so here's hoping for that.

Worried if the tips of the new growth are exhibiting any signs of a micro-nutrient deficiency, CaMg? I've been feeding her CaMg but not every feed, about once every 3 days.

You may have a light stress issue, I see the serrations on the leaves are starting to curl up a little bit. I've had this problem as well. Try either moving your light up or turning down the intensity, and see if you notice a difference in 3 days.

I second @smoke24 about light stress. Had the same with my HLG fixtures, these new led diodes are mega powerful with minimal heat, the good old rules to determine light heights you find on sites apply to HPS/MH mostly, but not high end LEDs. Try to stick with the manual that comes with the light, however I had to move my HLG a few inches further than listed on their site cuz it slowly burned my babies with too intense light (not heat).

@Lord_Gabe_Newell, Ya I think you're both right. I've already moved the light up. We'll see if thats enough. I have a lot more room to move it up as these girls are shorties

@teddaykgb, Thank you sir! I'm trying as best i can, hopefully a good result will come but who knows? Atleast with my 2nd grow i'll have crazy notes of where i went wrong or right that i can maybe change πŸ˜‚

@smoke24 Thanks for your help. I think that is exactly what it is, light stress. I havent measured my plants in awhile and some of them grew closer than 60cm (50cm about). I've since raised the light. Thanks again for your astute observation and help!

Yes Yesss Brother 😊 Good to see a fresh update on the babies and they're all looking super fine my friend!! I know you was having a few issues but it looks like everything is in order and tidy man!πŸ‘ Have you been watering with runoff or do you just stick to a certain amount of water only? I noticed you're only feeding 1ltr in a bigger pot but I've been feeding my plant 3ltr per day in an 11ltr pot to get my PPM correct on runoff and my PH runoff has been perfect too! I don't know if it's the best way but it's been working so well I don't wonna change Shit!!!!! πŸ˜• On my first grow I didn't do this and on flushing my PPM was CRAZY high which made me do things different this time round!! It made me concerned that they were sitting in a high concentration without me knowing because I hadn't runoff properly!! Respects πŸ˜‰

@@Lit_1, You're a lucky man bud with humidity perfect then!!! πŸ‘. So good that it remains low where you are as we know what high humidity can do for the babies!! Speak soon brother πŸ˜‰

@Bushbaby808, I just took out the humidifier (Rowenta Aqua Perfect) a few days ago as it wasnt kicking on anymore since i set it for 45% and thats where it seems to be without it. Outside humidity in the room is about 38% on average, inside the tent it seems to range from 38-48% which i think is ok, although maybe on the low side for the plants health. I'm paranoid against budrot though so i think i'm ok with it being that low. I live near the mountains so the humidity isnt very high here and its been raining quite a bit lately so that always spikes it up. During the day and night i try to keep the window cracked open for fresh air/cO2 and equalize the temperature in the tent. I'm hoping these conditions will be good but as you said we'll see what happens and we're learning as we go 😎

@@Lit_1, Yes bruv, more than likely a bitta both to be honest!!! I'm definitely moving up a pot size next time as I've got roots peepin out all over pot so I'm sure she would've flourished with more room!!! Hahaaaa, the venture continues.......Let's see what happens man, we're learning as we go!!! How are you doing with regards to humidity? There's no way I'm gonna be able to clock a 30-40% for late harvest!!! What dehumidifier do you run and do you deal with humidity inside or outside the tent?

Your running your ph a little high for soiless in the veg stage. 5.8 is ideal for what the plants want at this stage. You only need to add a little calmag if your using coco coir. Ppm should be 4 to 500 until they start to vigorously grow
Lit_1
Lit_1
@GMSgrows, Thank you. I've been using Nitric acid as my PH down during Veg as it breaks down to nitrogen just for this reason (during flower i switch to phosphoric acid). It also has to be a micro nutrient 'immobile' issue as its in the new growth and not the old growth. Nitrogen is a mobile nutrient and i believe the leaf color is healthy besides the new growth tips, which indicates micro nutrients. I'm not sure if its just because they are so new and i'm trying to see a problem where there isnt one. I believe its good to let the PH fluctuate a little bit in the healthy range so that the plant can take up certain nutrients it needs at more optimum PH levels. I'm not really a believer in runoff levels as you can get a pretty large discrepancy depending on your runoff on which nutrients happen to wash out during that time and which do not. Thanks for the help though all the same, i do appreciate it!

@@Lit_1,your correct there. But 5.8 is where your babies take up more nitrogen, that keeps your leaves green. Can't say for sure its calmag issue, if it is there is a reason why. Check your runoff make sure the ec is not way higher than what's going in. Luck my friend

@GMSgrows, 6.2 is the proper PH for maximum CaMg uptake. The range of 5.6 to 6.6 is generally whats recommended. Still this doesn't answer my question "if the tips of the new growth are exhibiting any signs of a micro-nutrient deficiency, CaMg?"
