Week 6 - Gelato #33 Auto All measurements are per 1L of water Start of week 6! They've grown so big, I really need them to stop soon as they are getting close to the light again. I've turned down my light to 80% power (pulling 240w instead of 300) hopefully that'll help them with the light burn on the tips. I ordered a cheap LUX meter that i'll use to convert to PAR to get an approximate idea of how much light they are getting. PAR meters are way too expensive for now. I've lowered their Rhizotonic to 0.5mL per liter of water and am slowly raising their A and B nutrients, currently at 2.75mL /L but will gradually up it to 3mL per liter. Their feed today was 2L of nutrients each consisting of (remember these are per 1L measurements, so double) water EC 0.2 to 0.5 CaMg / 0.5mL Rhizotonic / 2.75mL A / 2.75mL B / 2mL Cannazyme / 2mL Boost for a final PH 6.2 / EC 1.9 - Day 37 (Flower Day 9) - So the last few days i've had the light at 80% and i think they've liked that, yesterday i was a little worried as they were a bit droopy but I believe that had to do with them still getting too much light and from the defoliation they've gotten last week. Last night I turned the light intensity down to 60% (170w pull) and when i checked today they all looked pristine, no drooping or any signs of not liking their environment. It's still raining so the humidity is between 50-60% currently, however next week I think that'll lower as the rain stops. Today for feeding it was the same 2L per plant however tomorrow I think i'll just give them 1L as out of 8L total i've had 3L of runoff (37.5%), too high and no need to waste expensive nutrients if the ladies arent using it. I did test the runoff for those curious (i dont normally) and the readings came out to PH 6.8 / EC 1.0. I've started to lower the Cannazyme just a little bit to 1mL per liter and i backed off from the A and B just a little bit based on advice from @gmslave however I dont believe they have any signs of nutrient burn as the NPK burning them would show in the old growth as well as the new growth as it is a mobile (macro) nutrient. The tips of the new growth could either indicate light burn or CaMg deficiency however i believe this is light burn as they've been getting a decent amount of CaMg everyday and their tips havent improved which points to light burn. It's a pretty intense LED and i have no LUX or PAR meter to test (lux meter on the way for approximation of PAR) but until then they've responded well from just turning down to 80% and now to 60% intensity. They are fairly close to the light now so It will most likely stay at 60% intensity or even lower if they stretch more (the light is almost at the top of the tent currently). So now that you've read that novel here's the feed solution for the day: water 0.2 CaMg to 0.5 / 0.5mL Rhizo / 2.5mL A / 2.5mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2mL Boost for a reading of PH 5.9 / EC 1.9 Day 38 (Flower Day 10) - 1L Feed for each lady today. They're all looking very nice and healthy same as yesterday. Feed was as follows: water EC 0.2 treated with CaMg to 0.5/ 0.5mL Rhizo / 2.75mL A / 2.75mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2mL Boost for a reading of PH 6.2 / EC 1.9 Will update tomorrow with more pics Day 39 (Flower Day 11) - The ladies looking great today. They just keep getting bigger. They seem to really be thriving lately. 2L feed today as follows: water EC 0.2 treated with CaMg to 0.5/ 0.5mL Rhizo / 2.75mL A / 2.75mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2.5mL Boost for a reading of PH 6.1 / EC 1.8 - I defoliate ever so slightly just to maximize light penetration to the bud sights lower and also to cut down on the humidity. I aired out the tent for a good hour today which brought back down the humidity to under 60 which is what i want. It's hard at the moment because its very rainy weather but I'm hoping that passes as we move deeper into summer. Day 40 (Flower Day 12) - Ladies looking good, not much to report today. 1.5L Feed for them though instead of the standard two as there's been quite a bit of runoff lately. Feed was as follows EC 0.2 CaMg to 0.4 / 0.5mL Rhizo / 2.6mL A / 2.6mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2mL Boost for a PH 6.0 and EC 1.8. Will update with pictures and measurements tomorrow. Day 41 (Flower Day 13) - These ladies are just getting ridiculous in size! Most are indica's/kush heavy genetics so I was pretty sure my tent size would be ok at 6ft/182cm tall. So far the Purple Punch the tallest lady is 110cm tall, on Barney's website they list typically between 70-80cm for this auto. There's no typical height for Linda-seeds Gelato #33 and she's the smallest of her four sisters. Her height seems to be as I expected going in. Either i'm doing something right or doing something wrong πŸ˜‚. I raised the light as high as i could, basically had to mickey mouse it with zip ties and if those fail emergency twine so it doesnt fall in the event that the zip ties snap. The light is still 30cm from the Purple Punch tallest Cola and its running at 80% now (was 60% as the ladies didnt seem to like 80% and the light was too intense for being so close and their leaves would fold downward, but when i turned it to 60% they perked right back up. So we'll see how they like 80% at its new distance. Humidity is a tad high in the pics but regulates down to 60% and below with the tent closed. The rain is starting to cease in my area so humidity should be going down as well. Temperatures have been near perfect however, 18-25c (64-77f). Today they were fed 2L each with the following per liter measurements: water 0.2 EC to 0.5 with CaMg treatment / 0.5mL Rhizotonic / 2.75mL A / 2.75mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2.5mL Boost for a total reading of PH 6.1 and EC 1.9 Day 42 (Flower Day 14) - End of week 6 already! The ladies looking great, they seem to like the light being higher up and i've since turned it back up to 100% to try to maximize the light penetration and PAR to the lower regions, especially the Gelato #33 as she's the shortest. Today I gave them a really light feeding and 2L each as follows: water 0.2 EC to 0.5 with CaMg treatment / 0.5mL Rhizotonic / 2.0mL A / 2.0mL B / 1mL Cannazyme / 2.5mL Boost for a total reading of PH 6.2 and EC 1.6 - I'm curious how they will respond but I think well since the coco is pretty well saturated with nutrients at a bit higher readings, this will hopefully give them a chance to soak up some remaining nutrients in the medium and help rinse out any excess salts as well. I'll be raising the dose back up next week but maybe occasionally feed at lower amounts. Always check the day to day to see exact feeding measurements. Day 42 (Flower Day 14) - End of week 6 already! Worried if the tips of the new growth are exhibiting any signs of a micro-nutrient deficiency, CaMg? I've been feeding her CaMg but not every feed, about once every 3 days.

You may have a light stress issue, I see the serrations on the leaves are starting to curl up a little bit. I've had this problem as well. Try either moving your light up or turning down the intensity, and see if you notice a difference in 3 days.

I second @smoke24 about light stress. Had the same with my HLG fixtures, these new led diodes are mega powerful with minimal heat, the good old rules to determine light heights you find on sites apply to HPS/MH mostly, but not high end LEDs. Try to stick with the manual that comes with the light, however I had to move my HLG a few inches further than listed on their site cuz it slowly burned my babies with too intense light (not heat).

@Lord_Gabe_Newell, Ya I think you're both right. I've already moved the light up. We'll see if thats enough. I have a lot more room to move it up as these girls are shorties

@smoke24 Thanks for your help. I think that is exactly what it is, light stress. I havent measured my plants in awhile and some of them grew closer than 60cm (50cm about). I've since raised the light. Thanks again for your astute observation and help!

Yes Yesss Brother 😊 Good to see a fresh update on the babies and they're all looking super fine my friend!! I know you was having a few issues but it looks like everything is in order and tidy man!πŸ‘ Have you been watering with runoff or do you just stick to a certain amount of water only? I noticed you're only feeding 1ltr in a bigger pot but I've been feeding my plant 3ltr per day in an 11ltr pot to get my PPM correct on runoff and my PH runoff has been perfect too! I don't know if it's the best way but it's been working so well I don't wonna change Shit!!!!! πŸ˜• On my first grow I didn't do this and on flushing my PPM was CRAZY high which made me do things different this time round!! It made me concerned that they were sitting in a high concentration without me knowing because I hadn't runoff properly!! Respects πŸ˜‰

@@Lit_1, You're a lucky man bud with humidity perfect then!!! πŸ‘. So good that it remains low where you are as we know what high humidity can do for the babies!! Speak soon brother πŸ˜‰

@Bushbaby808, I just took out the humidifier (Rowenta Aqua Perfect) a few days ago as it wasnt kicking on anymore since i set it for 45% and thats where it seems to be without it. Outside humidity in the room is about 38% on average, inside the tent it seems to range from 38-48% which i think is ok, although maybe on the low side for the plants health. I'm paranoid against budrot though so i think i'm ok with it being that low. I live near the mountains so the humidity isnt very high here and its been raining quite a bit lately so that always spikes it up. During the day and night i try to keep the window cracked open for fresh air/cO2 and equalize the temperature in the tent. I'm hoping these conditions will be good but as you said we'll see what happens and we're learning as we go 😎

@@Lit_1, Yes bruv, more than likely a bitta both to be honest!!! I'm definitely moving up a pot size next time as I've got roots peepin out all over pot so I'm sure she would've flourished with more room!!! Hahaaaa, the venture continues.......Let's see what happens man, we're learning as we go!!! How are you doing with regards to humidity? There's no way I'm gonna be able to clock a 30-40% for late harvest!!! What dehumidifier do you run and do you deal with humidity inside or outside the tent?

Your running your ph a little high for soiless in the veg stage. 5.8 is ideal for what the plants want at this stage. You only need to add a little calmag if your using coco coir. Ppm should be 4 to 500 until they start to vigorously grow
Lit_1
Lit_1
@GMSgrows, Thank you. I've been using Nitric acid as my PH down during Veg as it breaks down to nitrogen just for this reason (during flower i switch to phosphoric acid). It also has to be a micro nutrient 'immobile' issue as its in the new growth and not the old growth. Nitrogen is a mobile nutrient and i believe the leaf color is healthy besides the new growth tips, which indicates micro nutrients. I'm not sure if its just because they are so new and i'm trying to see a problem where there isnt one. I believe its good to let the PH fluctuate a little bit in the healthy range so that the plant can take up certain nutrients it needs at more optimum PH levels. I'm not really a believer in runoff levels as you can get a pretty large discrepancy depending on your runoff on which nutrients happen to wash out during that time and which do not. Thanks for the help though all the same, i do appreciate it!
GMSgrows
GMSgrows
@@Lit_1,your correct there. But 5.8 is where your babies take up more nitrogen, that keeps your leaves green. Can't say for sure its calmag issue, if it is there is a reason why. Check your runoff make sure the ec is not way higher than what's going in. Luck my friend
Lit_1
Lit_1
@GMSgrows, 6.2 is the proper PH for maximum CaMg uptake. The range of 5.6 to 6.6 is generally whats recommended. Still this doesn't answer my question "if the tips of the new growth are exhibiting any signs of a micro-nutrient deficiency, CaMg?"
