Hi all! This week as a busy one. All girls are growing well and very healthy. Beautiful colors all around and stems getting stronger. No doubts this run has been the best so far! They were transplanted to 3 GAL smart pots in different days according to their sizes. All 3 had a few roots reaching the bottom and the sides of the old 1 GAL container, so I'm pretty happy with the timing of the transplants. Maybe I'll wait a few more days to transplant in the next round, so I can do everything in the same day (around day 27-28). ~~ Feeding They received three feedings this week and they seemed to love it. I've increased FloraMicro to its full amount (5ml/gal), introduced FloraGro at half dose (2.5 ml/gal) and kept FloraBloom at less than half dose (1 ml/gal). Next week all products will be increased to their full amounts (i.e. FloraGro = 5 ml/gal, FloraBloom = 2.5 ml/gal). ~~ Training All girls were topped this week. I'm going to test different training strategies/arrangements in each one: a) CBD+ : top at 4rd node and remove secondary growth on all pair nodes. She'll be the less manipulated one due it's small size. It'll finish with 22 tops b) GG#4 : this will follow a strategy similar to what I've done in the last grow. Also topped on the 4rd node and all secondary growth will be removed on pair nodes. Unfortunately one of the main branches has been partially broken, so I won't be able to train it properly until it has been recovered. Branches from the 1st node were also removed, which will lead to a total of 20 tops c) Mody Dick: I'm testing the famous MainLining technique on this one. She was topped 2 times this week, leaving only 1 more to be done. I'm following the original technique but I'm leaving all fan leaves behind (imo it doesn't make any sense to remove them). She will finish with only 8 tops. ~~ Next week Next week I'll start scroginng them and they'll probably receive 2 feeds Cheers

I've been growing Moby Dick using a mainlining technique. During the stretch phase, some secondary branches have grown a lot and are not close to the main stem anymore. Should I keep them? Should I cut? Will they help making big, fat colas?

Hello Go through the whole plant thoroughly and any that are really not getting the best light remove. But if you have a few secondary that are getting good strong light...id say keep them. They may just be smaller dense buds off the lower side of your biggest colas but would still give you some great buds. And then you'll have some branches to compare against, whether keeping the secondary shoots helps or harms.👍

The top leaves on my GG#4 started to get brown on the edges. Initially I thought it was light burn, but the stains kept progressing after I readjusted the light distance. Is it a nut burn?

I don't think they're burned. Leaves burned by light behave differently. They twist and look dry. Your leaves look good, try to raise the PH a little to 6.5 if you are watering with a smaller value, or check the EC and play with the dosage of nutrients.

Found burnt leaves in all three plants. They are all from the bottom and fell from the stems. Not sure if it's a)lack of nutrients b)nutrient burn c)nothing wrong, just the normal process for shaded leaves. What do you guys think?

I'm on day 50 of flowering and started checked the trichomes. I can see that they are not fully white (opaque) yet, but at the same time there are several amber/brown ones. I was planning to harvest about 10 days from now, what do you think?

wow you're definitely having a good amount of amber trichromes already. Sometimes the sugar leaves will get ambers a lot sooner than the buds will and you want to be careful to not fully gage readiness based on those leaves trichromes. I think your window for harvest is open and your should flush if you need to. Also, myself and several other grower friends who did some high cbd plants, medical strains, noticed that they were often ready for harvest sooner than we expected or planned on. I don't know if this is because of the cbd aspect and if it happens to all higher cbd strains...but so far we have definitely noticed that is a trend. I know dinamed says around a 60 day flowering period...but we should always take any breeders time-line with the idea that there's usually some variation grower to grower. I know you have a few strains so you may have to harvest at different times, but I'd say cut the cbd soon, the gorilla could use another week, and the moby is looking very close also. Perhaps give the gorilla the 10 days, and check the moby in 7. Happy harvesting. ✌️

New growth by the very ending of flowering. Both GG and Moby Dick have started to put lots of new growth in form of new calyxis and new white pistils (mostly on top of each other, fox tailing). How should I proceed? Wait more ? keeping watering or feeding?

Foxtails from heat or possibly the plant being to close to the light. This wont change your harvest time and wont cause you any problems. I havent had it since i improved my setup slightly but wasnt an issue. Just keep growing and dont let it through you off your harvest time.

This is caused by heat and/or light stress, too much red in some sativas that evolved close to the equator can also trigger this. I think you should keep it going untill you got the foxtails at cloudy and the buds themselfs done to amber, just try to make it in such a way that nothing is too imature nor too mature. Foxtails look good imo, may be some extra work but looks good. Just keep growing it as you were so far.

At this point I'd check the trichomes and see where your at. I've had a few plants do strange things at the end of flowering. I personally would just give the plant water from here on out. From the looks of it the foxtailing isnt gonna get any better so the decision is up to you.

@DinafemSeeds, thanks for passing by! may I ask, how much stretch should I expect in the Moby Dick? Do you think she'll grow much more than the other ones (judging by the pictures and the training I'm using on them)? thanks!
