Started the Mexican Airlines seed directly in soil on Tuesday and she broke ground today (Saturday). I've been reading a lot of good things about this strain and am looking forward to watching her grow.
Setup:
24x48x72 grow tent
1 Viparspectra V300 300w LED fixture
1 Viparspectra R300 300w LED fixture
1 CFL 100w (26w actual)
4” exhaust fan w/carbon filter 190cfm
6” clip on fan
Electric oil filled radiator behind air intake
Happy Birthday! One week old today and looking good. Stretched a little more than I hoped, but maybe that will help when I bend her in a few weeks. MA is front-center in the group shots.
Huge growth this week with this girl. Just feeding with water still, but she's chugging along. 2 weeks above ground as of this update (2.5 weeks from seed).
I'll be starting my next seed this week, decided to go with Diesel Auto from Royal Queen Seeds as the next up. Look for that journal next week.
Today is 3 weeks since Mexican Airlines broke out of the soil to become a seedling. She has really done a lot of cool growth in the time👍. I'm going to try changing up my training methods with this girl. First, I'm only doing one HST bend near the base of the stem (did this on Tuesday). Next, I'm going to try FIM'ing this time, instead of topping. GWE seemed to recommend a FIM pinch one a FIM cut, so that's what I did on Thursday. Last, I'm going to try LST again. If everything goes according to my evil plans, she should be my largest yield to date. 💪
Mexican Airlines is front-center in the group pics.
Mexican Airlines is looking good. I'm doing some LST experimentation on her so far I'm seeing some nice development from the lower nodes, tried spreading those nodes out today.
She's front-left in the group pics.
Place your seat backs and try tables in their upright and locked position Mexican Airlines is prepared for take off!!!👍
She's bursting at the seams and in pre-flowering stretch (does pre-flowering count as flowering or vegetation?). Gave her some recharge over the weekend and she LOVED it, major growth within 24 hours. I'm doing my first LST with her and not really sure what I am doing, but it looks good to me. Feel free to comment with any suggestions.
Mexican Airlines is approaching cruising altitude!! LST has been working great so far IMO. The lower nodes that usually become the lower, less productive, branches are looking like main colas! I doing more LST on my new grows now too! Started feeding Fox Farm Big Bloom this week with Recharge.
Mexican Airlines is just awesome!!! Tons of bud sites all developing nicely. My only concern is my Alien vs Triangle hermied on me and I just hope I yanked her before she dropped any pollen on my Mexican Airlines. I think I caught it early enough and should be fine, but I guess there's a chance of some seeds. If so, I'm calling them Mexican Aliens! 😃
Mexican Airlines is starting to fatten up nicely. I'm still quite impressed by the amount of great looking bud sites. Also, the dominant cola seems to be coming from what would have been the lowest branch if she was not bent over. Very interesting, to me at least.
Feeding her with Recharge and Big Bloom, she seems to like it. 👍
Fast Buds Mexican Airlines looking good!!! Buds put on some nice weight this week and starting to see lots of orange hairs. Some leaves are starting to yellow also. I'm going to feed her once more this weekend with Recharge and Big Bloom, then I'll begin a water only flushing routine for the remaining weeks. 👍
This is your Captain speaking, Mexican Airlines flight 420 is making its final decent for landing. Please place your seat backs and tray tables in their upright and locked position. 😀
She's in full flush mode now, and will be harvested this weekend. The smell is overwhelming and lovely, a very fruity aroma. Can't wait to smoke this one!👍
I cut her down on Friday, April 13 (I don't believe in superstitions). She was super stinky and ready for harvest. I have her drying now. I think I found the perfect drying location behind my tent. It gets heat and passive ventilation but no direct light and no fans blowing on the buds as they hang. The largest cola was from one of the bottom branches. LST works people!!! 👍
I'll post the Harvest report next week after she's had a chance to dry. Hoping to have my first taste on 4/20! 😃
I loved growing Mexican Airlines. I bent the crap out of her and she grew tons of bud sites. The largest colas came from the lowest branches. She's Sticky, Stinky and Sweet. Glad she was ready for smoking on 4/20. 👍
