Enjoyed the sample I vaped - as much as one can after a week of drying and no cure. Citrus and skunky notes up front with an earthy finish. Being sativa dominant she's not the hard-hitting, memory-wiping indica I typically smoke, but really enjoyable nonetheless. Nice uplifting high that also produces a nice body stone.

Gave the girls a little boost during flower. Didn't use a whole lot.

The Great White Shark was really easy to grow. Planted her in a 7-gallon fabric pot with Ocean Forest soil and really all I had to do was keep her watered. The dry cycle took a bit longer than anticipated. I had her drying in large cardboard box (with a small fan for circulation) for about 5 days and planned to move her out on day 6. Unfortunately, I had to move the Cheese plant that I harvested in with her as it finished a bit sooner than expected. Moving in the freshly cut Cheese plant rehydrated the Shark a bit so she had to spend a couple of extra days in the box. The Shark didn't bust the scales but she was a nice little plant and produced some decent sized buds. I may have been able to squeeze more out of her if I did some LST, but like I said, I did nothing but water her. Loved the outdoor grow experience - it was my first one. My wife wasn't too keen on this at first - she had visions of 12 foot monsters reeking up the neighbourhood and felt that cannabis didn't fit into her yard plan. The autos proved to be my saviours on this front as they were a manageable size and even she had to admit, looked pretty nice in the garden πŸ‘ I'm going to try to stretch my luck with one more outdoor run before the weather turns and the days get too short. I have a couple of new strains germinating and should be transplanting them later in the week. Stay tuned.

Grow Questions

StunFlowerstarted grow question 5 years ago
When I set up the pots for my outdoor grow I filled them about 1" below the top of the container. Since then, the soil mix has settled to the point where it is now about 4" below the rim of the pot. Do I need to be concerned? Should I be topping it off?

You can if you want. You say it's a 7 gallon pot so you probably have 4.5-5 gallons of soil. That is plenty for an auto. If you want to top it up do it when she flips to flower. Add 1.5-2 inches of pre moisten soil with the start of flower nutes and give a lite feeding.

Noticed some holes and some spotting on a few leaves. Initial thought was spider mites, but based on pics not sure if that's the case. Also thought it could be areas where water beads were on the leaves and burned through (as the holes go). Not sure about spots. Thoughts?

I don't know if I'd say spider mites, but something is definitely taking a nibble. Could be Caterpillar type crawlers, earwigs etc. Many will.just eat and move on. You could try a neem oil application and just keep examining the leaves top and bottom to watch for any eggs.

Popping some of them UK genetics. Nice !! You will not regret cheese is a dank strain :) Good luck and try and keep them birdies away. They ruined my last outdoor attempt the little buggers :)

@TheUk420Show, They were fine but not exceptional. Cheese was my first grow ever - over a year ago now - and it was also the first time I had ever smelled/tasted Cheese (surprising, cuz I've tried a lot of strains). Although the Cheese fragrance was certainly there, it was much less pungent and tasty than I expected it would be. I've since had opportunity to smoke Cheese strains from other breeders which were far superior. More stank. More dank.

@StunFlower, SunWest genetics can't say I have heard of them :) Not impressed then ?

@TheUk420Show, She's certainly not the stinkiest Cheese I've encountered. It's a nice smoke but I think if I would try a different breeder the next time I grow Cheese.

@StunFlower, that stinks. Sometimes the helmet ones do ok, but it is hard to get it off without damaging the leaves.

@@motaman311, Thanks! I'll have one going for sure - one of the seeds I germinated doesn't seem to want to shake its helmet shell and may end up being a dud. We'll see. 🀞

Very nice man! Can't go wrong with some nice aesthetics in the garden 😎. 128g off of an auto is very impressive and that is attributed to being grown outside with all that oxygen - even with giving it nutrients, nature and the sun ran this ruderalis cultivar quite nicely my friend - good job! πŸ‘ŒβœŠ

@CannaScuzzyB, Thanks buddy! I was more than pleased with the return from the Cheese. I especially enjoyed how little effort it took compared to growing indoors - although I do love the challenges of indoor growing (most of the time) πŸ˜„

@@motaman311, I have not had GWS before but am very excited to try it. I actually ended up with the seed only because my buddy busted up his son’s bedroom closet grow - he confiscated all his gear and gave me the seed 😼

It would be interesting to compare an indoor (at 20-24 hours light) and outdoor (16+ hours/day at June solstice -and of course declining as Fall approaches- at the 49th parallel and less daily sun as you head south.) I'm not in a good location for outdoor. High mountains, no sun. Wouldn't be a fair comparison.
StunFlower
StunFlowercommented4 years ago
@DjDaveAtHome, It sure would. Perhaps I'll put that in the calendar for next year.

I'm jealous you have an outdoor grow going. Hopefully next year I can get my stuff set up so I can do a couple outside. Good luck!

@@motaman311, Thanks Scuzz. Ya, I really wanted to try my hand at an outdoor grow. My wife, however, was not too keen on the idea at first - cannabis plants did not factor into her yard plan. Happily, we came to a consensus. πŸ‘

The leaves could be experiencing a magnesium or a potassium deficiency or it could be stress, IMHO. Looking good, though!

They would revoke my ghetto pass if I didn't comment on this. Kudos for getting the UK founded Cheese strain. I'm sure you have smoked it before but I love the heavy scent of cheese its smells almost as potent as the stardawg strain. Gl with this Little Chavette, She will do you proud I'm sure.

@TheUk420Show, Geez, I'd hate to see your ghetto pass revoked πŸ˜‚ Your are hilarious, my friend. Cheese was my first ever grow and I'm hoping I can make a better go of it this time around -I never really achieved the heavy cheese smell that I know it can have. I hope this girl stinks up the neighbourhood. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ§€
