I'm growing this autoflower on the end of a desk with a Mars Hydro TS1000. I intend to go all the way to harvest like this without a tent just to see how it goes. The room is small and tends to run warmer and a little more humid than the rest of the house. I transplanted to the final, 3-gallon fabric pot on day four. Growth slowed for two days then picked right back up.
I'm running a tent with photo period plants in a different part of the building, so this little lady will be my Summer companion and might be ready to harvest at the same time as my photo periods. We shall see.
Getting the light height to intensity has been tricky. The sawtooth edges of the newest leaves have been curling upwards, but the stem is stretching more than I like, as if the light isn’t enough. I’ve been adjusting the intensity instead of going up and down on the height. It’s been at about 75% strength most of the week. This strain is supposed to take a little longer than other autos so I might top at the end of week three. Height is going to be an issue in this space.
Explosive veg growth this week. The drainage issues are relatively under control, but the leaves still show minor signs of root issues. I have a little too much coir mixed into the soil and not enough perlite. Began LST. Shoots right themselves quickly and forcefully. The stalk has gotten as hard like a six-week-old plant. I've plucked three or four fan leaves to get more light. Pistils are creeping out everywhere. Very little nutrients used because the plant is telling me it doesn't need it yet.
Not much to talk about, really. It's an auto with wonky genetics, but grows fine. The LST was experimental since I haven't done a haze auto before. I honestly barely feed this thing, ever. You can see the LST progress in this single week. The flowers are starting to come in nicely.
We will be harvesting this puppy soon. Probably even before the photo period C99s in the other tent. Major bulking up this week and trichomes are more than 50/50 clear to milky as of today. I hit it one last time with a dose of Fox Farm Cha Ching, then nothing other than PH'd water. Water only until harvest, though I flushed today with Advanced Nutrients Flawless Finish this morning to get a leg up on the clearing. Photos are chronological.
This plant does what it wants with minimum fuss as long as the environment is maintained. Trichomes are mostly milky with the odd amber here and there, still a few glassy ones, but still cloudy. I don't want amber with this strain. I like to be awake and high-functioning. The next report will be harvest.
I like it. I didn't start it out in the best lighting situation for the first several weeks, so the yield could have been considerably better. 110g is the dried premium bud, and about 30g of sugar leaf and larf that I will process for other things. The buds are big and light with many shades of green, orange and muted purple. With the frosty resin coating, they look a little blue in dim, direct light. I barely fed this thing, so I'm sure I could have yielded more if I'd tried a little harder and gotten it into the tent much earlier. Photo period plants in the other tent definitely got more attention. I will cure for a minimum of four weeks, target eight weeks.
@MooSnuckle69, I never topped this one, but I did a fair amount of bending and very conservative de-leafing to improve light penetration. I did not feel like it was growing healthily enough to stress it out with a topping when it was vegging. Topping an auto can stunt it.
