DAY 49 since the seeds were put in the ground
DAY 7 of the bloom (height : 44-53 cm)
The Cookies are the smallest plants in the collection of the plants that are in my growth space. They have by far the most Indica genes. The plants remain quite small and have large, very dark green leaves.
The first week of the flowering phase is over. Because the plants are tipped 3 times, they have many small twigs. These twigs are in competition with one another in order to catch as much light as possible. The branches will become firmer if they continue to grow for another two weeks.
The difference between the different varieties is becoming more and more visible. The Cookies have a hard time keeping up with the rapid growth of the other species and with their large leaves the Cookies cover their own shoots. Maybe I should have topped the Cookies twice instead of three times ... The Canopy is not so flat anymore. I placed the smallest plants in the middle and around I put the larger plants.
I pour 10 liters of water every 2 days with nutrients in each bin with 16 plants and I let the plants suck this solution. This is easy to water, but more difficult to ensure that the largest plants (the plants on the outer edge) get enough water, while the smallest plants (the plants in the middle) do not get too much.
Cookies = Royal Cookies ( RQS )
Friends = Somango XL (RQS), Royal Gorilla (RQS), Royal AK (RQS), Sex Bud (Female Seeds), C99 (Female Seeds)
@Zannabis7, Thx, I didn't win. It was my first grow here on Growdiaries. Not my first grow in general. I have some experience in growing all kind of vegetables ๐
@Oyziphar, Sounds like an excellent plan. Growing with different strains all together like this is a pain but you are doing a lovely job. You'll enjoy comparing each strains terpenes, I bet. Not such a bad compromise, really. ;-)๐๐
@Zannabis7, I read your comment again. I must tell you that the third topping I did in Week6 (last week growing) was a bit too late for this strain. The new shoots were covered with the big Indica leaves, and so the budforming got somewhat behind in comparison with the other strains.
@Zannabis7, Yup, and they respond very well on the topping. What went less well was that I might have left the plants a bit too long in the small pots. They showed some nitrogen shortage. Also a small problem that the new soil (repotting) was a bit cold (because of the weather). That gave them a bit of a shock. But after the roots of the plants have scanned the size of the pot, now the new shoots have start growing well.
Hi! Thank you for sharing your journal. Did you grow these Royal Cookies from 6 different seeds? If so did you notice any variation between them? Stronger or different smells from each of the plants? Yield differences? Did a single plant of the 6 stand out as a winner? Thanks!
@remi604, Yep 6 different seeds. All plants looked about the same. Some plants have a strange growth pattern with a hard trunk and leaves that do not develop completely. Remove these plants at an early stage. I grew this strain earlier and had the same problem. But the selected plants were great. Incredible smell, nice rockhard buds with a lot of trichomes, superb smell and taste! My favourite RQS seed at the moment.
Sorry for the late answer. Been very busy. I've started again this week, so I am happy to be back. Soon some new diaries !
@biggreens420, Correct. Plants are not very branched. Great smell, nice frosty buds. Sorry for the late answer. Been very busy. I've started again this week. Soon some new diaries !
