Balcony Experiment - SDA

Mr_Motalovah Sour Diesel auto Sativa dominant Genetics: Sour Diesel x Haze 2.0 Auto Life cycle: 70 days Harvest outdoor: Late October Outdoor yield: 50 - 170g/Plant THC:High CBD:Low This is my first grow with Dinafem seeds. Friend of mine gave me a 3 pack of Sour Diesel Autoflowering. I had some extra space so I decided to give them a try. I'll be doing a little experiment, See if these girls amount to anything. I only get about 6 hours of direct sunlight on this balcony. Seeds were placed in a cup of water overnight. Morning after they were placed in humid paper towels. All seeds germinated in 2 days. Popped them in 500ml cups. Seedlings sprouted in 24 hours. Two of the seeds are looking really healthy after week one while one of them is falling short, let's hope she starts growing fast like her sisters.

Mr_Motalovah This week went great! Midweek I transplanted the girls to their final pot. They had some good roots going! Took the transplant and switch from tent to outdoor pretty good, there weren't any signs of stress. Wasn't much of a change though because they were only in there for a week. Biggest difference would be the heat, which is climbing to 31 Celsius this next week. In the balcony it marks 28 so its not bad, they look very healthy and are really soaking up the sun! 😎 We've got about 16 hours of sun but they only get about 5-6 hours of direct sunlight. As for the comparison between the three girls. I decided to take out the smallest and the biggest ones, leaving the mid sized inside. The small one is growing nicely but still trailing behind the other two, while the biggest girl is just getting bigger and bigger. 😍 Fourth nod is growing out, so next week i'll start LST before the stem gets any stiffer. Mr_Motalovah Hello growers and tokers! 👋 👩‍🌾 🧑‍🌾.🔥💨 Started training one while the other lady wasn't ready but ended up training her at the end of the week.😁👍 After being tied down they were both looking up the day after, sun searching. 500ml then kept on with 800ml which is going good for now. 👌 But given the heat is rising to 34ºC and its quite breezy, I'll have to up the water amount soon.💧💧💧 Began with deep underground for that extra kick in the roots then continued the week with grow nutrients. Mr_Motalovah Hello growers and tokers! 👋 👩‍🌾 🧑‍🌾.🔥💨 Nice, noticeable growth this week.😍 I'm watering every other day and the day after watering you can notice how they just really took all those nutrients in. Next week, I'll take some lower growth off and do some more LST. Very happy with these two girls. Pistils are starting to show, so I'm pretty sure it's entering Flower.. I guessed it would start soon, let's see if she grows some more bud sites.. Countdown starts now!! Next week I'll start giving them bloom nuts. Happy Growing!😃🌱🌿🌲

I'm a little bummed that she couldn't grow longer bud sites, but to be honest I thought she would be smaller so I'm happy with the size. Guessing she'll have a nice main bud and tiny little buds on the side. Let's wait and see.. 😊 She's already got a niiiice tasty smell flowing. 😍 Watering every other day. Happy Growing!😃🌱🌿🌲

Watering every other day, will have to up the amount because they're drinkers!! Now I just have to keep treating them carefully and they'll do the rest. 😃 Smell is getting more and more potent, loving it!! 😍 Happy Growing!😃🌱🌿🌲

Mr_Motalovah Hello growers and tokers! 👋 👩‍🌾 🧑‍🌾.🔥💨 A lot of heat this week! Had to up water to 2L each.. One of the girls had a bit of nute burn so I had to adjust that. Buds are starting to smell more, get denser and very sticky.. There isn't much trichome production. Given the heat and ver low humidity these days it's normal.. 😪 Thinking about growing this strain again but photoperiod and indoors, seems like it would come out tasty! 😋 Happy Growing!😃🌱🌿🌲

Also are starting to stink up a bit, that nice stank! 😉 If I have the balcony door open and there's a breeze going I get that nice smell in my living room. 😍 Still have a few weeks left till harvest. I'll probably feed nutrientes until next week then start flushing depending on how trichome and pistils are.. Harvest is right around the corner. You can start seeing some amber trichomes so she's almost there. I flushed this week and will be flushing next week. Most likely will be harvesting next week. 😄 Have a great one!! 🙌😃

Mr_Motalovah Hello growers and tokers! 👋 👩‍🌾 🧑‍🌾.🔥💨 Well! Their time has come, this was their last photo shoot after week 10 of life cycle and right before harvest. We've come to an end of this balcony experiment. Had loads of fun watching these two ladies grow in my balcony. They only received 5 hours of direct sunlight each day. (09h - 14h) So to be honest I wasn't expecting this size and density with such little hours of direct sunlight. This strain is easy to grow and doesn't need much attention. Chopped them on day 73 of life cycle (day 52 of bloom) Both have a nice dense cola, one is thicker while the other smells much more potent. Decent amount of trichomes given the circumstances and blazing heat these past weeks. All in all they look gorgeous, smell great and I'm satisfied with the results. Now to dry and get cured. Then comes the taste testing. I'll update this diary with final weight, photos and all that good stuff as soon as they're done. Stay tuned, stay safe and happy growing! 😃

Mr_Motalovah Hello growers and tokers! 👋 👩‍🌾 🧑‍🌾.🔥💨 It's my first harvest on this community and I'm loving it. Everyone always ready to help each other and have great feedback. Tracking my grow on here has made it way easier. There were times that I misplaced notes or forgot what I did or when with a certain strain and all I had to do was come on here and check it. Also motivated me take more pictures and do more logs. All out great site. Don't know how I haven't found it earlier. HIGHLY recommend for all growers. The grow cycle went pretty smooth. She's easy to grow and flowers early so you can't do much training. That being said it's great for beginners. 👌 Had no problems with pests on these, while on the other plants (none cannabis) in the balcony I had issues with spider mites. They grew better than expected given the few hours of direct sunlight they received. Results were good, I was expecting 10-15 grams per plant and ended up with a tad bit more. Drying went a bit fast because there were few buds. I probably could have took it down a few degrees as well.. my fault on that part. They dried in 4 days, they've been curing for 10 days. I normally test them after 15 days but they smelled so good I had to try them. Smell: Lovely earthy, woody, slightly like diesel. Quite pungent for being autos. Taste: Just as it smells.. leaving a nice after taste of diesel. Touch: Very sticky, dense buds. They break down finely in the grinder. Cleaned the grinder before testing and after 4 joints ( 2 grams or so) I already have a good amount of kief collected in the bottom. (Check photo) Might grow this one again just to make some bubble hash. The high is awesome nice uplifting, long lasting energetic but without a heavy euphoric rush. Reminds me of a smooth haze high, although if you smoke a lot even being an experienced smoker, she'll get to you. Only down side is dry mouth, very dry mouth! Have some water on hand because your mouth will transform into a desert. 😂 Great strain to kick start the day. Beginner smokers take it easy with this one. She hits hard! 👊
