Day -2 (6/24): Well, the first grow has started. *gulp We researched and researched and did some more research, but nothing compares to getting our feet wet. We are running a nutrient schedule from a respected grower and are currently awaiting our little plants to start popping up. We've got 2, 10-gallon cloth pots, but they are only filled about 75% of the way. We started our germination process by soaking our seeds in water for about 20 hours and then transferred to a jiffy pot with a light nute mix and then potted into our big pots (it's an auto, so we were told transplanting wasn't necessary). We have started prepping the coco with CalMagic. We will start nutes hardcore next week with a tentative 1/4 gallon of water. My only concern is the distance of the light. Currently, we are at 26 inches until I see some babies, then I think we'll move to 20 inches. This is the only part I'm worried about and if anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it. We are rocking a Viparspectra 450w LED. ---------------------------- Day -1 (6/25): Ordered 5-gallon pots to transfer these into. They are still in their jiffy pots so it'll be a seamless transition. I also purchased some Great White Mycorrhizae for the roots and sprinkled some on the jiffy pot as well as in the hole when I transplanted. I've heard amazing things and I figured, why not? No babies poppin' up yet this morning - we will turn the lights back on at 3pm and give an update! ---------------------------- Day 0 (6/26): Nothing emerging yet, but I did transfer the jiffy pellets into smaller, 5-gallon pots - so there's that. The environment is stable at 75-78F and humidity is anywhere from 67-78%. I have 3 more seeds on backup soaking in water incase these boys don't want to show themselves. ---------------------------- Day 1 (6/27): We have lift-off! A little longer than expected, but 1 of the seeds broke ground overnight. Now, let's wait for the next! Put the remaining 3 seeds in jiffy pots this morning. Conditions are stable and we ordered a dehumidifier for the basement. ---------------------------- Day 3 (4/1): We are looking strong and we FINALLY have some company in the tent. Each morning I give them about 10ml of the nute solution that I make and they seem to be loving it. Once Week 2 starts I'll be going to a much larger dose of water and nutes, for now, inside their little jiffy pot, they're doing just fine. I have one little girl, who has a taproot (I've seen it), not popping her head out just yet. We'll give her a little more time and see what happens. The good news is we've germinated 3 of 5 so far from ILGM and things are looking good. Photos added. Looking forward to week two! ---------------------------- Day 5 (4/2): Our 3rd lady is looking nice! All-in-all, ILGM is a great company. I germinated 3 of the 5 they sent me and they are sending a new pack of 5 to replace the 2 that didn't end up going anywhere. For now, we wait. More photos to come soon. A few days from now we lower the lights and start rocking out nutes. I. Can't. Fucking. Wait. ---------------------------- Day 6: 4/3: There was some nute issue here on plant 1 I seemed to have fixed overnight, you can see the lighter green in the middle of the darker green on the leaves. It was my ignorance on understanding how quickly a root grows. I wasn't giving this guy enough water - no biggy - easy fix. Rookie mistake. #smh Otherwise, boom bam things are looking great. ---------------------------- Day 7: 4/4: Growth. Tomorrow a new week and nutes. **Side note: Growing weed, for me, is very soothing. I am bi-polar and all sorts of OCD and anxiety issues and weed has always been a medicine and it truly is a calming routine to check on these girls every morning and afternoon. Thanks for tuning in and reading all these ramblings.

I'm OCD #af and worry about EVERYTHING. Is there anything we can be doing better? Light distance, germination tactics, water amounts with coco? Did we use too big of a cloth pot (I've been told 7-gallon is good, and I feel that what we have in a 10-gallon pot).

For an autoflower you could probably get away with a 3 gallon pot.. they don't get much bigger than 3 feet.. 10 gallon would be great for an autoflower.. Everything else seems spot on friend! Happy growing! 👊

What is the best way to control night-time humidity? I have my lights-on conditions pretty fuckin' dialed in, but my lights-off time humidity is around 67-68%. My temps are great at lights-off, around 71-73F. I can put a big dehumidifier in, but I don't want to yet. Any thoughts?

For the early stages it's not that bad, if you don't want to put a dehumidifier yet try to increase ventilation. If you'r tent has mesh air vents, open them up and get the fan going, being careful not to hit the plant with a lot of direct air. That normally does the job for me to take the humidity down 5-8% Goodluck! Happy Growing!😃🌱🌿🌲

Do I even bother trimming autos? If so, what is safe to get rid of? I know it's not time yet, but I'm getting all my ducks in a row. 😀

Just do some LST and let them go my friend! Tuck leaves when you can to open bud sights but I wouldn’t cut any unless they are dead! Hope this helps & happy growing friend!✌️🏼🌱

What are these little spots? I only have them localized on this one leaf (and one plant out of three), and haven't seen anymore. I'm more curious than anything. Tips to fix? Don't worry?

Do you have any idea what the light measurement is “ppfd” at the level you have your lights? Looks like your leaves are curling up a bit so I’m. Wondering if this is heat and light related

I have 3 plants. 2 of them are 1 week behind the main plant. Can I extend my main plant's vegetation period an extra week in order to allow the others to catch up? Is this even an issue? I worry about the flip and the other 2 being behind.

Hello. Yes you can. Cannabis is a very forgiving plant and everything will go alright. Do what is best for your situation. Everything will grow at the same rate so the main plant will be bigger. Good Luck. Chuck.

Is everything looking ok here for the middle of week 4? First time grow and I'm just looking to see what you veterans think so far. And, from your experience, how far off do you think I am from flowering stage and flipping to 12/12?

Hey You're looking good, nice size for 4 weeks old. Yes definitely got some nice stipule photos there. I bet you might see some preflowers pop in here in the next week. I usually see my autoflowers start flowering around weeks 5-6. Unless they've been the rare plant that has a long life cycle.

Random question... When do you start day 1? Is it the day the seed germinates? The day the seed pops above ground? The day the girls have enough leaves for nutes and a regular environment? Just broadening my knowledge. Thanks, guys!

Is this pre flower? I'm just confused b/c 2 of my 3 plants are showing pistils, but not this guy - but this guy looks like he is going into pre flower... whatcha guys think? Is it ok to not have pistils yet, with pre flower?

The damn pistils (preflowers) were hiding on the OTHER side of the stem. Very hard for me to see without having to fucking stretch and move the plant. All is good, false-alarm!

Week 9 flower. Rust spots on leaves. Starts at top. This can only be calcium defic from ALL the research I've been doing. Can anyone chime in? I foiler spray a CalMag before lights out and I've added some more to the nute mix. 6.2 pH, runoff seems good.

rusty spots are more likely Mg defeciency, i think. Either way, CalMag has both, but if you already provide a ton of Ca, you may exacerbate the problem or it could actually be a lockout from abundance of Ca from the start. If you find that's the case, epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) is another option for Mg deficiency. pH should be fine at 6.2. You could try a slight increase to your pH before doing anything else. Both Ca and Mg are more avaiable for use at a higher pH. Try 6.5. Now, i'd also consult labels / brand website of your main nutrient product. If they suggest a pH, i'd stick near there, reassess and choose a different path to try to fix this particular problem. What they suggest is likely best for the specific chemical makeup of that product. Using above and beyond their base A/B system or whatever muddies that up a bit, but likely still the best starting point. So, the answer depends upon what you've done recently and how the soil was fortifed (e.g. any garden lime, gypsum etc..) - and a lot of that is impossible to know in a precise way in many situations. Check the guaranteed analysis of the nutrients you use... even find a nute calculator online and tabulate PPM (think the one i link in my main GD profile comment area is working for liquid nutes, if an online calculator isn't accounting for specific gravity, it is not an accurate conversion). Ensure you are not bombing it with Ca or possibly P or K or common culprits too due to common 'bloom' products. Eliminate possibilitie as best you can and make an informed choice. You've already begun one potential solution. Might as well observe for a week or so unless something crazy bad happens - if it does, Ca-tox is a real possiblity for this context. I'd still do the math on the PPMs of what you add from your fertilizer mix, since that has no impact on the plant, and might reinforce your hunch or point the needle somewhere else. That type of knowledge, even if just a ballpark, can help greatly when trying to deduce what is going wrong with the plant.

@NedKelly, thanks, dude! It's gonna be really neat to see our grows side-by-side. We, sort of, are doing the same thing (hydroponics) but you are more literally doing it, vs. my coco coir. I think it's going to be a neat comparison! I can't wait!
