Started the week by changing the reservoir and adding stronger nutrient mix. Tried lowering the light to 20" but she responded with curled leaves so I moved it back up. Outward growth has increased significantly as apparent in the 24-hour comparison (about a 50% increase in size). Expecting to veg through week 5, which would be great for end results. Another plant of the same strain started out with oddly rounded leaves and slow growth has now caught up. She responded well to the increased light so I moved her more towards the center to give her the light she wants while not stressing out the one that curled. Upped FloraGrow from 5ml/gal to 7.5ml/gal on DAY 17 to increase PPMs from 750 to 875 and give her some much needed nitrogen. I may have hit the STRETCH! She grew nearly a full inch in the 12 hours between day 20 and 21. Great news as she was only about 4 inches tall heading into DAY 20. On days 19-20, I was worried as I didn't notice much growth at all. Perhaps there was some kind of switch being triggered by her genetics because the second half of DAY 20 was far and away the most productive thus far.

DAY 23 had a problem develop, that I'm trying to diagnose. New growth looks a little wilted. Moved the light up a bit and topped off the reservoir with a micro-heavy mix. Fingers crossed. DAY 24 - Leaves still look damaged but it also look like they're getting better. Growth is quickening again. Everything I have read about autos say that I should be feeding less, but feeding more seems to have been the right solution. Perhaps tri-leafs use 1/3 more nutes? If condition doesn't continue to improve, I'll change the reservoir and switch to bloom nutes. DAY 25: Pruned her down a bit. As future bud sites start to form, taking off a few fan leaves for air flow and light penetration. Also changed reservoir to higher concentration of nutes. Autos are supposed to take less, but Gorilla Glue Auto is infamous for high intake, so I'm feeding her like a photo for now. Results pending... DAY 26 early stages of Nitrogen toxicity, nute strength was too much. Cut it down to TDS of 770ppm and 1,5 EC. The picture from this day was from later in the evening. Her foliage is filling back out and growing a little faster already. DAY 27 order of Diamond Nectar came in. Added 5ml/gal. Drooping leaves have perked up. She has recovered, at least mostly. DAY 28 WOW

DAY 29 Grew a full inch in 24 hours. She's now taking in about 1.5L of water daily. Growing wide and tall in a hurry. DAY 30 Another full inch of growth. Full tent contains 3 GG Autos (2 @ 30 days; 1 @ 19 days). The smell is getting strong. I may hook up the carbon filter soon. The last few days I have noticed that she droops about an hour before lights off. I was worried but after a lot of reading, I've come to discover it's her natural circadian rhythm. I'll post the DAY 31 picture of her at lights on. She'll be perky and ready to grow some more! After 18 hours, she already has grown another inch! DAY 31 - Grew 2 inches in the last 8 hours. Performed some very light defoliation. Do not want to shock her during the stretch. She's on her own from here on out, no more training. Bud sites have plenty of air flow and good light penetration. DAY 33 - still racing ahead, more than an inch every day. DAY 34 - I'm blown away by the stretch. She has gone from 8" to 20" in 6 days, that's 150% growth in less than a week. I believe I will have to do some bending to keep her within 18" of the light. At this rate she will probably end at about 30"-36" to full bloom. I will have to change out my hanging wires for the light and move the carbon filter to accommodate. END OF WEEK - 175% growth, very nearly tripled in size. Light has been pulled all the way up.

My plants are on an 18/6 light schedule. I get home from work about an hour before lights off. One of my plants is always droopy around this time. I wake up about 2 hours after lights on and check and she looks great. Any idea what causes these bedtime droops?

Hey Growmie, This is actually very normal, the plant is used to the light schedule and knows that it's almost lights out. So it's basically getting ready for bed. Lol. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember ..."Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".

DAY 37 as the day came to a close I was conflicted. The light cannot move up any higher so some training had to be done. I have a ScrOG net, but changing out reservoir after deploying the net seems difficult. In the end, I bent the two tallest colas. DAY 38 it took 3 hours for the bent tops to turn themselves into a Gandalf pipe shape and point upwards. I'm impressed at this plant's resilience. The canopy is pretty even now. DAY 39 she's taking in almost an entire gallon of feed everyday. The pH and TDS are remaining static, so I believe I hit the sweet spot. DAY 42 flowers are starting to thicken. I can see the tops on the fringes aren't growing quite as fast or as fat. Next grow I will add supplemental lighting.

DAY 43 tested reservoir. The pH is holding constant, but ppms are slowly dropping, added a bit of a stronger mix focused on bloom nutes. Buds continue to swell and get frostier. DAY 45 a few colas have swelled a ton in the last two days. I can no longer tell where one plant ends and the next begins so while we have been following the growth of one plant this entire time, many shots will include 2 or 3 (the third plant is 11 days younger and is easy to pick out). I bent a few of the taller branches to avoid light burn and in one case to fill a gap with no colas and to simultaneously bring it to the center for better light coverage. I will add more P later in the day. I have no doubt that they can handle a slightly higher TDS in the feed. DAY 49 One plant in the tent seems to have entered a second stretch. I've discovered that bending the branches now are as effective, they don't heal as quick. It's making small, lofty buds. May be too much N from the Floramicro. I will cut that back by half tomorrow and do full res changes. The main baby is still doing beautifully <3

1.6 EC is bang on the money for me in flower . I use canna nutes myself and just make sure to trikkle feed pk13/14 untill week 5 or 6 where I'll increase the pk. They don't need much nitrogen in flower, just a bit to keep the leaves healthy. I think your at a good EC now they are looking really good. I sometimes will push to 1.8 EC max but that's only if my run off ec is low and I know they can take it. Less is more 👍

DAY 50 full reservoir change. Cut back on Flora Micro by 2/3 and doubled Floragro. Trying to minimize nitrogen while increasing potassium and phosphorus. DAY 52 a few of the tops that seemed like they were going to be smaller are catching up. There's one stem that I bent too late into flower so it didn't hook upwards much, but now its horizontal and every bud site is receiving maximum light. Hairs aren't in a hurry to change. I'm thinking I still have 4 weeks or so to go. Maybe 5. DAY 56 pistils are changing a little faster now. I still say only 5% or so have matured. Took a photo outside of the tent for perspective. I was clearly in need of more Phosphorus, so I added 5mL/gal of Flower Stacker. Boosters aren't necessary until they are...

DAY 57 some leaves are changing, getting brown spots and turning yellow. This could be due to there being very little Nitrogen left in the feed. With an estimated 2 weeks left, maybe 3, this isn't worrying me. This plant will be harvested long before there are any actual consequences. DAY 58 After a lot of research I figured it out! The yellowing is caused by a Calcium deficiency. I knew it looked like a Ca problem, but it didn't make sense because there is plenty in the mix. When my leaves started turning purple, I added more Phosphorus as it was a P deficiency. Well, adding too much P causes Calcium to be locked out. This is a problem I see constantly with other growers and now I can help them! DAY 62 Plant is drinking a lot and putting on weight. Probably about 30% red hairs right now. Still have not seen an amber trichome. The calmag problem continues but I've been topping off with pH'd water so as the P and K become diluted, calcium and magnesium should start being drawn in as well.

DAY 64 Pulled back on the booster (Flower Stacker) and went back to the full GH Trio. The ppms in my reservoir were increasing too quickly. She was definitely overfed and I'm hoping to have ended the CalMag issue. The goal is to have a static pH and EC. We will see how this goes. DAY 66 Buds are noticeably larger everyday. A few of the lower stems are falling under their own weight. The neighboring plants work as a good prop for now, but I'll have to tie these branches to the main stem for support if they are going to reach their full potential. Smell is getting strong. It's almost like fuel mixed with a burnt smell with a touch of floral, fruits, and skunk. The buds make this plant earn its name. Just bumping them slightly leaves an adhesive-like sickness that soap and water can't remove. The resin it leaves is extremely sweet and fruity. DAY 67 She drank 2 of 4 gallons of water in her reservoir. Clocking in at 600 ppms and 6.1 pH. This suggests I need to add slightly more nutes. 775-800ppms is probably the sweet spot. Pistils about 40-50% red, no amber trichomes to be seen. DAY 68 Finally able to make out amber trichomes. Less than 1% I'm sure. Found many more clear trichomes still. The majority are cloudy at this point.

DAY 71 I had assumed that she was pretty much done swelling and now just had to ripen, but after examining her today, I noticed a multitude of new calyxes bursting out of the flowers. She may not be as far along as I thought. I will remain patient for a better payoff. DAY 73 one of my larger colas folded under it's own weight. There are maybe 10 stems that have this issue so I will be tying them all up today. DAY 74 leaves turning yellow, but it seems natural, no rust spots in new yellowing. There are more amber trichomes, but they're changing slowly. I'm going to stop guessing when they will finish because it always seems like 2 more weeks should do it. There's a lot of bending under the flower weight, but after trying to prop them up, it looked like the plant was twisting at the base. I've decided to let it grow naturally as ripping off the roots would be devastating.

DAY 78 seems to be drinking less than normal. I think it's a good sign that her cycle is almost complete. Second shot is an above view of the back of the plant. The stems bent from the weight of the flowers and now are permanently horizontal. It's okay, however, they are producing dense buds that are extremely frosty. It will be an interesting comparison. DAY 79 three VERY different outcomes from the same genetics... Left Side: our little tri-leaf Front Right: 11 days younger than the other two, this one was lollipopped immediately following the stretch. Looks like the lollipop may have added 2 weeks to her flower cycle. Seems that she became more sensitive to nutes also. We will see when she finishes. Back Right: the weird sister Strange family indeed... DAY 83 four days until harvest? DAY 84 I did want to harvest on day 88, but now I may let it go until day 95.

DAY 87 I increased the nutrient feed. The pH in the bucket was increasing quickly while ppms were dropping. It seemed a little late to be asking for more nutrients, but I gave her what she wanted... This addition seems to have spurred a little new growth-- the flowers have begun to show new bracts again. I'm certain it's a last ditch effort to get pollinated. I will be watching closely for hermaphrodism. I do not want the plants "desperation" to be pollinated become her self-pollinating. As she has 7-8 days before I chop her down, she won't be able to fully form seeds either way, but I suspect that tiny, undeveloped seeds will affect flavor even if they are not physically detectable. DAY 89 Although I do not see much change day to day anymore, pictures tell a different story. In the last 5 days, buds have continued swelling and adding lots of trichomes. I'm still dead set on harvest in 6 days, so those trichomes may never actually develop much THC, but it is good to know that the plant is still being productive. Wondering if these awesome purple shades will just look brown when dried... we shall see! DAY 90 Found a few groupings of bananas coming out from the new growth I noticed after the last res change. I plucked them all out. This confirms to me that she is finishing up and pollination is now or never. With less than 5 days to harvest, I'm not worried that they will have any impact anyway. I only discovered them in the largest cola closest to the light. No chance to change the date of harvest now, however, it must be soon! Good thing she is ready regardless! DAY 91 smell has been reduced quite a bit. No reason why terpenes should be degrading. I presume that the smell and flavor will redevelop during the cure.

I only removed fan leaves, all other leaves are single-fingered and closely attached to calyxes. Because of this, there is no trim worth saving and there is a much greater stem to flower ratio. Although it has the highest wet weight, I expect it to be very close in final weight to the Young Plant. HARVEST WEEK WILL BE ADDED AFTER HANG DRY IS COMPLETE AND WEIGHED.

You can buy these seeds here, ships to US, Europe, Canada, Australia, and many other places around the world: https://ilgm.com/products/gorilla-glue-autoflower-seeds?aff=5753 2 of 5 failed, although one may have been my fault. Grew quick and and tripled in size during the stretch. They have kept a pretty regular cycle, each showing sex on day 17 and stretching a week after that. A single plant probably would have just about filled my 4x4 tent, two being more than enough to hit every wall. Taste is enjoyable, the plants harvested at day 95 have a chocolate flavor while the one harvested 11 days early has a better, more diesel taste. One plant grew like it had ABC or Dr Grinspoon genetics. Would definitely grow again, I feel like I barely touched upon this strain's potential. Lollipopping made the plant more sensitive to nutrients, but greatly increased bud density. Get special deals on seeds and to download your free Growers Bible: https://ilgm.com?aff=5753

Gorilla Glue Autos from ILGM definitely lives up to its name. Extremely sticky and resinous. Originating from 3 strains-- Chem’s Sister, Chocolate Diesel, and Sour Dubb-- these definitely exhibit traits from each. The flavors of chocolate, fuel, and citrus are very apparent. Although a 50/50 hybrid, this strain has more indica traits, except that it tripled in size during preflower which is more sativa-esque. The ruderalis also showed itself in different ways including leaf development. All in all, a winning combination. Dried weight for the Tri-Leaf, Young Plant, and Weird Sister was 233g, 127g, and 220g respectively. The Tri-Leaf was a champ. This was the first plant I ever harvested and I could not be happier. Had I trained her more, she would really have been something to behold. She has a strong chocolate flavor. Not my favorite flavor, but its still very pleasant. You have been observing this one since day one so you know her well. The Weird Sister was truly the winner because her final weight contained virtually no stems. Unfortunately, each calyx contains a pre-seed. They're small, but they are woody and EVERY SINGLE CALYX contains one so of the three, it's the worst tasting. The young plant developed the densest bud. I believe this was due to some aggressive defoliating (lollipopping). Sadly, she never got the full amount of light she needed. Being 11 days younger, her sisters stretched long before her and so the light had to be moved beyond what would have been ideal. Despite this, she has beautiful, reasonably dense buds that taste like citrus and diesel. They all smoke clean and burn well. Great yield for my first harvest. @TheUk420Show, so the latest study on flushing found no difference between flushing and not flushing except that people prefer the taste of unflushed bud. The harshness and smoke was the same. So if you time the flush right, it wont make much difference, but if you flush too early you're starving the plant during the time the buds would normally add 50% of their weight. Flushing for only 5 days probably has no real effect except in hydro so you're probably good!

@The8thChevron, You don't flush your plants ? interesting I flush for 5 days at the end of each cycle or if the trikes turn on me :) How come you think it harms the plant ? Im sure it wasent dumb luck pal you look like you know what your doing :)

@TheUk420Show, all of my reading came from articles and message boards. I find that there's a lot of conflicting ideas with cultivating cannabis so I really looked at every issue and got as many differing opinions as possible. I also tried to follow the science where it exists (like why flushing at the end is just a bad idea!). I also researched lights vigorously and believe I got the best one for under $300. I didn't skimp on humidity controls and kept the temp at right about 78°F throughout the grow. I tried very hard to keep stress to a minimum as well. We will see how this next round goes. I will be using a scrog net and defoliating everything below the net. With any luck, this round wasn't just dumb luck.

@@Waylate, thanks! This was my first ever grow. Just finished up my second with MUCH better results (smaller haul though). Amazing how much simpler and enjoyable the second round was 😅

@The8thChevron I want to tell you that I became a fan. Really great experience. Because the only difference between the 3 pots that have problems and the healthy pots. It was windy. I try to make NPK and use the fertilizer that has more of NPK. Really, how do you think my flowers are and do they produce a good product? Look at the photo of my last questions, which you answered yourself, thank you. Actually, I translate with Google.

@Theia, 🤣🤣🤣 I wore large sized medical gloves to trim and they're snug if that helps. The bud is about the size of a soda can.

I’ve never seen a plant like her sister (4th pic) before! I reckon you could grow that in full view of the public and no one would guess it was weed! Might be worth stressing her to make seeds for a gorilla grow? Good luck finishing the grow, looks only a week away to harvest on the normal plant anyway! Stay safe 😬🌈

@Tripledrop, there's a strain called Dr Grinspoon with the same features. I imagine stealth is a huge part of why it exists at all. I'm giving them about 11 more days to finish. And no worries, all is legal here! Thanks for stopping by!!

Thanks for always helping out, I just realized your name was a Stargate reference and its even a picture of a stargate :S I've been wondering for a few days, about your name. That bud on day 66 is like the abdominal snowman's weed that looks amazing. and yeah about yeild if that's 2 plants in the picture maybe about 200g dried each? just guessing

The8thChevroncommented5 years ago
@@nicks, I'm glad you got it, it's an obscure reference for sure. As for helping out, I've spent so much time reading and studying up, it would be a waste if I didn't share. 200g would be a great harvest!

Just looked at your diary and I'm impressed with how far along your plant is I have also just started o GG Auto from growers choice seeds and mine is not showing any signes of growth. It is having a hard time losing the first leaves.
The8thChevron
The8thChevroncommented5 years ago
@Bluntblazer66, I planted 4 and one died off (or was going to). I did the soak>papertowel method. I threw a new seed directly into a Rapid Rooter cube and it broke the surface in 48 hours and looks beautiful. These girls weren't moving much at first, but now we're off to the races! I've learned too that some people count day 1 once the first true leaves open, so you might not be as far behind as you think (day 1 for me was breaking the surface)!
