*EDIT*
DAY 7 Last day of week 1:
Fertilized today 1400ppm 6.4ph.
2ml/L for Bud factor X, Bud Ignitor, Liquid Koolbloom, Cal/Mag, B52. Used 10ml of FloraNova Bloom total
15 Liters of water (10ppm from tap)
PICS FOR TODAY: Pic of Feeding lines/water pump (3000L/hr), pic of feed sprayers in soil, Pic of canopy.
22c @ 60% humidity, will be dropping humidity in a week or 2 soon as bud sites develop.
First time using Bud Ignitor ever in a grow.
Feed lines are set up : first in line Plant 1, 4th in line Plant 1. 2nd in line Plant 2, 3rd in plant 2. For plant 3 and 4 it's the same just on another feed line. Only issues is pinching, and I'm half-assing the fix with just cardboard support. It works, so we're good.
Last 3 pics are from today (Feed system, canopy, watering)
I use B-52 in Veg, and usually through first week of flower carrying over veg stretch. I break for 2nd week and then resume on 3rd to final week.
UPDATED - 5 New photos showing canopy filling in, as well as internode closeness and new stem/shoot/leaf growth compaction i'm aiming for at 2 hours before end of DAY 7 light cycle.
*END DAY 7 WRITE-UP*
First week of flower begins.
First feeding on Day 1 - FloraNova Grow was used more than FloraNova bloom.
Second feeding on Day 3 - FloraNova Bloom was used more than FloraNova Grow. Added Liquid Koolbloom at half dosage for first time
Third Feeding on Day 5 - FloraNova Bloom only used no more FloraNova Grow for rest of grow. First full addition of Liquid Koolbloom 100% dosage
I've had a struggle over the last 4 grows perfecting the stretch period. Either getting too much or too little, my 4th grow seemed to time it right, although I made the error of transplanting too close to flower and the first couple weeks were wasted on root development. The 45 day plant took over 60 days to finish. BUT, the stretch was perfect.
How I did that was to taper off the Macro/Micro nutrient regiment found in the Veg ferts from FloraNova instead of just stopping it, to allow about 4-8" of stretch maximum.
Light levels are 80,000 at canopy tops in center down to 23,000 at corners of the 5x5. (lux or lumens i can't remember. I just want to see under 90k to prevent burn/white bud tips
Canopy has recovered from last veg pruning very well. Plant has also "reacted" to stripping below the line, it will not throw new shoots at the nodes being cleaned off every time a new stem forms. I never thought the plant would "learn" to stop doing that but here I am writing about it.
Instead the canopy has infested the top 3-4 inches with new stems and leaves, i'm very excited and due to the LARGE amount of leaf cover, I will be quickening the defoliation cycle from 21 days down to 17-19 based on how it "looks" and how I feel about it. Wedding Cake supposedly hermies with too much pruning, so I'm going to not remove fan leaves for the first 14 days minimum, and then i'll figure out what day I can't take it no more and just get at it. prob day 17...
I'll be leaving any fan leaves not shadowing other stems/bud sites and will only remove any straggling stems too low for my liking (stealing nutrients from the better stems i've prepared for budding)
I'd probably venture there's over 100 individual stems.
Height is pretty damn even, only the left side has a "stadium seating" rise of 2-3 inches from center to tent wall.
Plants can take up to 13 weeks supposedly.
Will be harvesting at 30% amber 70% cloudy.
Half of Wedding Cake will be made into Bubble Hash, and half of Tropicanna Glookies will be the same, of which I will add to this diary at the end.
End date slated for roughly September 13th with drying and Bubble making/drying coming after.
I like to feed the crap out of my ladies. You'll notice I will routinely hit 1400-1500 ppm right from the start. A lot of people would be wary of these numbers, but at a perfect 6.4ph over the last 2 previous grows utilizing this technique I can feed EVERY watering 1500ppm before ph adjustment (adds ppm) and NEVER get a single issue. I grow big indoors, these plants are 4 feet high and roughly 2.5 feet by 2.5 feet in size and the trunks are pretty much 4 inches around on at least 2 of them.
I'm currently out of B-52 otherwise i'd have fed that over those waterings. No issues on that so far.
Humidity is 25% higher than I'd like. I want roughly 35%-40% max. I'm near the wattage max draw of my fuse box for this grow, so i'll be setting up a dehumidifier soon by throwing an electrical cord up the cold air return to a new electrical outlet not on the same line as the tent. I'll be dehumidifying outside of the tent instead of concentrating inside, due to the fact my dehumidifier is massive and I don't feel like buying a small one that may or not work in the tent.
These ladies were grown to re-veg and flower over and over until i'm bored or don't need them or their buds loose their power as it ages. You'll notice the trunks have small leaves. I allow 5-7 of these only if they remain "squat" at the trunk line and don't try to reach for the sun, those i'll remove after 4 inches of growth with large inter-node spacing. if the node spacing is tight, i'll just prune it back 3-4 nodes.
These will be a long term multi-year project, to see the effectiveness of bud after long term flower cycles to try and pinpoint the loss age regarding potency, like how we know after the 5th or 6th consecutive clone of a clone the plant becomes weak and subpar. I'm also interested to see how fat I can get the trunks lol.
This diary will end on first harvest, and a new diary will begin when re-veg has occurred.
Really curious how the wedding cake turns out. Just put some beans in the cup yesterday, heard great things about their wedding cake and since I could not get Jungle Boys ANYWHERE, I decided too try Canuks. Looks great btw
@TopShelfTrees,
One things for sure, they are friggin JAM packed with bud. Massive weight for even the tiniest nug. The tropicanna I could squish to near nothing and it'd pop back out to normal. Wedding cake is like trying to press in a brick.
Going to be monster yields.
Canuk seeds generally LOVE cal/mag btw. I notice Cal/mag issues on Canuk genes more than any other bean companies ive tried so don't skip out on the cal/mag.
Well, I felt like I should give this a proper ending.
I used Canvas Labs to get a Health Canada level screening of all parameters available (was like $700 bucks) and it came back showing lead and mercury.
I freaked the hell out, contacted them, and they ran samples to an even higher level lab, it was quite an intense experience.
I had massive, massive anxiety... am i smoking lead and mercury tainted pot? How did it get into my grow?
So BAM I chuck all my ferts and re-buy a newer better brand
So BAM I chuck the felt vivosun 7 gallon pots. (Why? Cause who's frigging kidding here, do you trust anything made in a manufacturing plant made in China, sold to a supplier, slapped with a label from some rich dude who pays for it and calls it vivosun on amazon's platform where they routinely send crap so bad it breaks upon use or doesn't work at all so they delete the product and you can't get your money back cause its just gone from product detail info for returns. (That was my colloidal silver, the previous example was a box fan))
So BAM i kill my 4 darling 5 foot tall, 6inch diameter trunk 11 month old plants.
And of COURSE Canvas labs comes back saying there was a lab error, there was no lead and mercury.
So that was a nightmare, and I killed the above plants.
This whole scenario sent me back massively financially and while waiting for my upgraded production medical license also, has caused a lot of time between my last postings of grows.
Shiiiiiit that was long. Posted for anyone who was curious, I use this as a diary mainly as well for long term retrieval of issues how I fixed them and results etc etc. for any necessary future need.
I was originally hesitant about posting why I killed them so blamed it on hydro. I asked a lawyer friend If it's safe to talk about it happening, they said yea, so that's why I'm mentioning it now. I would have kept these ladies alive for multiple flowering rounds.
