Day 18 from seed. So far, so good. The third lady took a while but seems to be doing well now. No nutrients added yet but I did add some diatomaceous earth. Every so often I see fungus gnats in my tent. I haven't noticed any damage from them but I've read that the larvae can attack the roots of plants. I'm also going to resist watering so often to keep any fungus away.
Day 21 from seed. I've added some nutrients to the water. There is slow growth so far and the ladies are much different in size. Hopefully they will produce decently in the end.
Day 26 from seed. So far they are looking healthy but the growth has been fairly slow. I hope that the smaller ones catch up soon or there will be very little product in the end.
Day 31 from seed. There is some slow growth and I hope that the little ladies catch up to the biggest girl. So far they look healthy but I'm not sure if there will be much product at the end.
Day 33 from seed. I'm moving the ladies into the grow tent today.
Day 35 from seed. The girls have moved to the tent and put into large pots. They look like they could use some more nutrients so I will be a little more generous with the feeds. Otherwise things are going well. I wish they were bigger though.
Day 39 from seed. Apparently the first, and largest, lady has begun to flower. It is not very big compared to the photos I'm used to. I hope she is able to produce something decent.
Day 41 from seed. It is looking like the second largest lady is starting to flower. They are looking healthy so far.
Day 45 - They are going through the stretch and both #1 and #2 are flowering well. #3 is behind but has been a week behind since the beginning. She is also fuller with larger leaves and a shorter stature. I'm not sure if it is a different phenotype or what is going on. I gave the ladies straight water today but next time I will add some flowering nutrients.
Day 47 - #3 is starting to flower. She still looks quite different from the other 2.
Day 49 - #3 is still growing taller but I think the other 2 have stalled. They won't be very big but hopefully they will produce a decent cola. No trimming needed as they have very few leaves and they are well spaced out.
Day 51 - #3 is growing strong and has big fan leaves. Definately larger than the other 2 so hopefully, she will give some good returns.
Day 56 - They continue to flower and show some upward growth. #1 is definately smaller and a bit odd. She is trying to foxtail but I don't know why since the heat/environment and nutrients seem to be fine for the others.
Day 60 - All of the ladies are flowering well and the upwards growth is slowing or stopped. Very little trimming has been required as none of them have many leaves. There are some nutrient issues despite getting a fair amount of feeding.
Day 67 - The flowering is going well. They continue to look like they have nutrient issues depite regular feeding. I am hoping that this is just the natural flowering/dying process of auto flowering cannabis. I have only seen this happen with the autos I have grown.
Day 73 - The ladies are flowering well. Not the biggest plants but keeping my fingers crossed for decent yields.
Day 76 - I think I see some difference even over the past few days. # 1 is quickly depleting her nutrients as most of the leaves are dying, # 2 has some dying leaves and # 3 has some yellowing leaves. I haven't checked the trichomes yet but I think I will in the next few days. The NYC Diesel is supposed to flower in 65-70 days from seed so harvest should be any day. 😋
Day 77 - I decided to take a look at the trichomes today. Plant # 1 is definitely ready for the flush and # 2 is only a few days behind. I will flush both of them on the next watering day, possibly tomorrow. # 3 has always been a week behind the other two so I may give her a bit more time before the flush. I always find that I am late with the flush, so maybe I will flush her at the same time as the others.
Day 83 - Partial harvest for # 1 and # 2. I plan to do a staggered harvest in hopes of getting a bit more yield in the end. Time to flush # 3. # 1 is a very odd looking plant. It has always been the smallest and has been foxtailling throughout the flower. It will have a small yield and the buds are very light green compared to the other plants. I hope it won't be full of seeds but I won't be surprised if it is.
I had some difficulties with this grow. I think it is more my fault than the fault of the strain. #1 was tiny, bizarre looking and foxtailled all over even though it was grown exactly the same way as the others. It's still a tasty smoke but not as good as the other 2 plants. I need to do more research and learn better methods if I am going to continue to grow autos.
@Chlorophyll_Junkie,
I use 1 Phlizon 600w light and 1 Aponuo 1000w light in this tent. Both are cheap LED lights from Amazon. So far, I have been impressed with how well they work and how the plants seem to like them despite not being top of the line lights.
