Hi all, This would be my first Grow diary. I am doing *5 Kush n Cheese feminized seeds from DINAFEM. 3 out of 5 germinated (I got the package in the mailbox badly pressed). Anyway, 3 seedling happily growing on jiffy starting mix cup and will be transplant it into a bigger final home when it get bigger. I am putting it in a 5gallon Promix BX (peat moss + 10% extra perlite). My Fertilizer experiment will be Advance Nutrient 3 bottles trio. VS Root Farm 3 bottles trio. I have read many place say that treat peat moss soiless like hydro by keeping the nuts ph mix at 5.8 for veg and 6.2 for flower. So this is what I will follow. If any one have any comments or advice on anything please, please let me know. I have been reading a lot, and more wouldn't hurt :). Thank you in advance. P.s Seedling is under a 400MH light. 1st week 24inch away. 2nd week onward 14inch away. Diary setup didn't allow me to select MH lights options. so just wanted to mention here. To be continue.

Day 14. Transplanted it to 5 gallon promix bx soiless (peat moss) with 20% perlite. Will start my 1st feeding tomorrow when medium get dry. One seedling started to show some brown spot.. uh oh. Is it deficiency or light is too close or maybe too high heat?. Reason why I keep the temp this high is because of the diy co2 tube (yeast and sugar fermentation). Not sure if it's even helping or not, dont have a co2 meter (too expansive lol). Temp and humidity I can control. I think I will get rid of this homemade co2 fermentation and lower the temp to 26-27 Celsius. P.S Seedling is under a 400MH light. 1st week 24inch away. 2nd week onward 14-16inch away. Diary setup didn't allow me to select MH lights options. so just wanted to mention here thanks. Will be updating more soon.

If it's in soilless my guess is it's looking for nutrients. Usually you need to feed right away a very very small ppm amount of nutrients. 🤟😜

Since this one seedling show brown spots/ lack of nuts, should i start feeding now (soiless medium) while still moist.. or wait until completely dry?

This one is using Advance Nutrient half strength. The bottom leave is very dark green and thick. Is this due to too much N?? other plants color is not as dark green as this; just this particular one. is this normal? thanks.

I wouldn't worry too much yet. New growth will often be lighter for awhile. If you just started nutes, she's fine I'm sure. If you started a week ago or more, you probably started too early and she got too much N. Either way, you should be fine now doing what you're doing.

I spotted light brown spots on big bottom leaves. Can this be lack of calcium? i used tap water with ph at 6 (soilless medium; peat moss + perlite).

So it doesn't look bad yet...but it definitely looks like a calcium deficiency in the making. With growing soiless i know the ph needs to be lower, but calcium usually absorbs best closest to 6.2, you can probably get away with the 6 but maybe need some additional calmag supplements. coco coir always needs higher calmag doses i wonder if that applies to all soiless mediums...the peat/perilite combo. I'd try boosting it up a bit, even just 1 dose a week and see if it spreads anymore.

Hi, now into week 4. everything seem okay so far, plant is very healthy BUT i think i damaged 1 of the plant stem by stretching it too much while doing LST to bend it flat. anyway, i easy up the wire a bit to let it recover, and re-do the LST on that branch once i see its a bit more stable. to be continue.

updates: *Nutrient between RF vs AN = RF win so far (outgrow in stems width/strength + growth/mass). To be continue for result in flower stage. Note: for both RF&AN, i only used 50% strength. and upped little by little and i am @ about 65% strength as recommended. Note on PROMIX BX - Take longer to dry out.. i have to wait 4 days just to feed. next time, i will put in more perlite. Mainlining - i am doing 10 colas, 5 each side (see picts), is this too many? should i cut the third out? will it be okay (enough room) for a 5gallons? *LST: I did all the LST nodes on the RF plant, while the other two AN plant is a bit behind (will up it nuts a bit). Please check picture and you will see that i can't do anything with node 3/4/5 yet (so i just put small clip just to increase it weight to bend it down a little). I think i will let it flower in few days. Anyone got any comments or anything or any advice to make the AN plants catch up with the RF, please let me know. THX :)

Hi, i tried to make 5 colas each side, my question is when each of those colas start to have sucker (check pictures) should i trim it out just like people do with their tomato plants? isn't the sucker will grow into another colas???? sry first time growing MJ. thx in advance.

The suckers are new growth tips and will turn into new colas. I will usually pull off the new growth tips that grow beneath the branch and let any of the ones on the sides or top grow out. For a proper mainline I think you're going to want to pull off all of the growth tips before the nodes you top at. Here is probably the most informative and thorough website I've found on topping/mainlining/manifolding: https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/how-to-mainline-cannabis-plants/ Good luck in your grow, your plants look good!

It grow fast under flower stage. trim all the lower parts. move the lamp up few inch each day. having issue controlling with Humility level. For some reason humidity lvl jump to 70%.. went and buy extra humidifier hoping it will work (it absorb water from air so slow) 17+ hours and only collected half a cup. humidity level still high 65-70. Hi I am forced to grow outdoor. Plant is at end of 2nd week flowering. For out door, is it okay for normal rain to wet the buds.. I am afraid of mold at the end of all the hard work. Anyone one have tips/advice for outdoor, please reply. Greatly appreciated:)

Hi, Your plants will be fine but try not to get them too wet. Once it stops raining shake the plants really well to get rid of the water accumulated in the bud sites. Also, The plants can get over water so make sure to not leave them under the rain for too long or mold, stem rot, bud rot and other problems can happen. Happy harvest🌱🌱🌱🌱👊

Benefits are a wider plant and it you manage to open her up well the light penetration increases because of the extra space inbetween the leafs, the rotating sun only helps even further because it can shine from different angles and develop the plant even more on the inside so not only the tops get bigger but the buds thst would otherwise be more covered in therr will aldo get bigger.

I am doing it outdoor. Now the challenge begin lol. I realised the light hours at this time out door is 14 hours long (realised 2 days too late..) I went buy a med duty tarp and now realised it's not light proof (can see light shine through). I found one that is light proof but it will take few days to arrive. I will forced to use this tarp temporarily. I hope it dont turn Hermie on me. Finger cross

Into week 3 of flowering outdoor. Everything look good, the root farm plant show little nitrogen deficiency. Will add a small amount of N next feeding. I notice the root farm nuts leaves are lighter green than the AN nuts. AN plants leave are darker in color. RF plants show bigger buds but also show N deficiency. RF is taller and bud are fatter. Will update more next week. I also notice Advance Nutrient fertilizer smells like sewage water lol. Also, will be adding alaska fish emu on all plants to see any difference. Thinking of adding molasses since moss peat is organic and it also contain mycorrhazai. Will add it to one plant to see if there any difference (will add it to the AN fertilizer plant).

Hi, into week 4. I notice one of the plant leave stem is purple (I will post it @ question section). Not sure if its mag deficiency or it was stress due to high wind. I will pay more attention to this one and see if theres any more issue show up. This one plant is with root farm nutrients. Ph is at 6.2. Should I increase ph next few feeding since mag absorb at higher ph? Thx all

Hi one of the 3 plant (same strain) leave stem is very purple looking. Is this due to deficiency? There was strong winds few days ago, can this be stress? Current ph is at 6.2 in soiless medium. Should I increase ph for mag to absorb easier? Please advise and thank you in advance

Could be a P deficiency, but could be genetics too. Raising P is dangerous. If ~50-60ppm, don't go higher. Assume it is genetics. Otherwise, you will likely lockout numerous other necessary elements. LED lights are notorious for this. If all other things are fine, I wouldn't worry.

Week 10 into flowering. Outdoor weather was very poor the past 4 days (windy, rain storms and cloudy with no sun) hopefully it will get better. I did shelter it with a tarp. Result updates: I understand molasses benefits lc/organic soil medium etc. Because promix BX contain mycorrhazai + I added small amount of ewc to one of the AN plant I thought it would be benefit somehow. As a result it is not, it slow down bud growth compare to the other plant without molasses. Surprisingly the plant with RF Nuts still beat AN nuts in bud growth and heights. But it keep showing nitrogen deficiency (check pict). To he continues....

Judging by the temperature you're recording in your diary, it could be temp related even if it's the only one doing it. - Purple colour isn't really a bad thing, it's simply the plant switching out chlorophyll for anthocyanins, which lets the plant absorb a broader spectrum of light, tho less efficient.

Will start to flush in 3-4days. Think it's ready. What you all think? Let me know. Weather getting ALOT better, more sunlight and back to 18-21 celcius in the day range. Less winds. When I start flushing, will it matter with the ph in the water? Since main purpose of flushing is not for it to absorb nutrients in the soil etc. Next feed will be the final feed then flush.

I am very happy with the result even with the bad weather. Anyway, I did harvest it earlier due to the cold and strong wind. Maybe 50% trich are cloudy white. during the harvest, I did spotted lots of bugs (mainly aphids and spider mite), few PM and couple small caterpillars (smaller than half an inch). So I decided to wash it (2 buckets methods) it did take 2 days longer for the drying process. After curing for a week, I take a sample test and it tasted amazing. Very smooth. But I feel that the AN nuts tasted a lot better, more fruity and smoother than the root farm nuts. The lower buds did have few seeds (i blame it on the bad weather during flower). Anyway, I am happy with the result. Batch will last me through winter hopefully. Thanks for reading. Feel free to ask anything.
