Day #9 Update: No roots but in my experience this time of year it will take up to 14 days so better to not mess too much with the cloner lid and the clones. The leaves are looking amazing, a couple of big leaves yellowing (with always is a good sign of rooting soon), so hopefully the next update will have some root progress pictures!
No nutrients at all, just replenishing the water evaporated on the cloning tray as the heater it's really doing a good job there.
@DrJynx86, oh wow ... learning something new all the time! I have never seen white hairs wilting. And great that you really know this strain - I'd like to get to that point one day 😁🤞
@HazeyBobby, sorry to bother you my friend, but tomorrow I will upload the update of the Royal Cookies SoG, you will see how the initial white hairs wilted almost everywhere and they are looking totally different now (the ones made you ask if they were autoflower).
This is natural at least for this strain, too bad because your plants go from an A+ to an F in two or three days, lol.
Happy smokes!
@Ferenc, thank you! Much appreciated!
They look so bizarre and at this stage are difficult to picture clean buds but I totally forgot this being a "Cookies" variety, I have been growing too much OGs in a row, lol.
Hoping to get another update soon as this diary is one week late.
Happy smokes!
@Canna96, thank you! This is the first time we're going to do a SoG kind of grow, we usually use 3x 20-24 liter pots, and never filled to the brim. Now 9x 3 liter it's a lot less total substrate so yield maybe isn't that good, but we have a huge overpopulation of clones this time of the year and also it's a really nice change of pace.
Still thinking about what to do on the other tent, maybe another SoG, maybe the usual 3x plants, or maybe just caring about two mothers that will go to the outdoor season in September/October, and they're really needing some good care and training.
Happy smokes!
Day #48 update: not too much to say, but lots of work transplanting lots of girls, preparing a huge amount of organic/perpetual soil, and picturing the grow tents and the current diaries.
Tomorrow I will be uploading lots of updates during the day, I hope you enjoy the pictures and as always if you have any questions or needs, just let us know and we will deliver!
Happy smokes!
Update Day #45: lots of progress on every front. Managed to finish harvesting all the OG Kush #3.x girls, and spent a full day sieving the perpetual compost/soil pile, still with an improvised sieve, so very slow, at the end of the day managed to transplant the 9 best looking Royal Cookie clones to 3 liter pots, filled with the best soil ever.
They're already showing an amazing spurt of vegetative growth after less than a night after transplant, so a week will do wonders to stretch them a little and ensure horizontal coverage, after that flipping to 12/12 and probably taking between 8-14 weeks, targetting 9 weeks.
We have a full tent without plants, currently with some peppers and eggplants still on seedling stage, and will be taking the next weeks to make sure a couple of mothers are ready for spring time and outdoors growing, specially the Royal Cookies and Royal Gorilla moms, because they're really lacking in the soil care department, and they're starting to look really yellowish and weak.
I will be uploading some pics taken after transplant later today, keep posted!
Happy smokes!
Update Day #40: I have tons of pictures to upload going into the fifth week of this grow diary, currently being week #1 of real vegging after three weeks developing amazing roots on the cloner/bubbler.
I picked the best plants and kept them on the 450w tent, and left the others on the moms/clones room, currently looking like as dense as a jungle, I will try to picture that and show what I mean!
So now we're just waiting for the selected plants to stretch and make things easier during watering, as that was the worse aspect of the current OG Kush #3 grow, plants being extremely short.
We also did some defoliation, cut the bottom two nodes on each plant, to ensure they're clean there (and help watering too), and now we're just debating on the training, but most probably as they're single stems we will just do a bend on the mains at mid height (like an inverted L), and then they will continue growing for three weeks and cover the tents (picking 3 plants in 24 liter pots per 2x tents).
Hoping to upload the updated pictures for the week soon, keep an eye and good smokes!
Update Day #31: According to the schedule, I will be doing some preventive work against red spider mites this week:
1) Applying diatomaceaous earth powder to the top and bottoms of the leaves, stems, the top of the soil and overall the grow tent.
2) After a couple of days I will spray with neem oil + potassium soap + tobacco/garlic water until cleaning all the white powder, let it dry under the fan at max speed, repeat until clean.
3) Repeat the cycle again until no red mites are spotted in a week or two.
