Well here we go! Two breeders and four strains (2 each) in two different Living Soils- Fox Farm Happy Frog w/ Natures Living Soil Auto-flower Concentrate vs. SOHUM Soils living soil. Reset the 4x8, went through and checked and cleaned all equipment ,wiped down/disinfected entire tent.
7/15- Popped 8 beans in eight 16oz. solo's w/2oz. of straight lukewarm water ph'd to 6.5 in each.
7/16- 4 of 8 have already popped, planted all in 10g fabric that evening. Watered in with 2oz water ph'd to 6.3 and covered w/humidity domes. Running just the HLG 650R right now and have it dialed back to 120w at the wall @ 46" from medium. Temp's high 70's to 81 degree's, RH @ 70%.
I'll be using a sprayer to gently keep them moist while they finish germinating.
7/18- Keeping an eye on moisture under humidity domes so that medium doesn't dry out around seeds. Using straight water ph'd to 6.2-6.5. Temp's and RH on point.👌
7/19- 7 of eight broke ground... DAY ONE! 💪😎🙏Still waiting on a Zkittles from Seedsman to show her stuff. If the last lady doesn't show by this evening I'll pop another bean as I don't want a huge gap in the run. Removed humidity domes from all that sprouted and misted with straight water
ph'd to 6.4
7/21- Running just the HLG 650R @ 225w @30" with air temp @ 78-81, RH @ 55-60%. All eight girl's are up and doing well, even the Zkittles that was a 'no-show' is now looking stronger everyday which is a relief because it must have gotten planted too deep and when I gently moved some
around to check on it, found it all curled up and yellow as hell. I re-positioned it just under the surface and low and behold she's strutting her stuff with her sister's!
7/23- Day 5😁; Turned up HLG 650R to 305w @30" air temp's 78-81(turned on A/C unit to maintain temp's at this point, haven't had to up until now), RH @55-60%. Watering/foliar spray via spray bottle once daily with water ph'd to 6.3-6.5 and added 1 tbsp/gallon of Seaweed extract for today's
watering and foliar spray. All doing great and are anywhere from 1.5-3" tall with the 'shorty' being the Seedsman Zkittles that didn't sprout until I dug her out so she's a little behind her sisters but I'm confident she'll catch their butt's quick!
7/25- Day 7, Week 1 behind us now....smooth sailing ahead! Watering the girl's with 8-12oz water ph'd to 6.3-6.5 daily. On Day 4 I did add 1 tbsp/gallon of Seaweed extract to their water and also foliar sprayed them as well. As luck would have it, the Seedsman Zkittles that didn't sprout and I had to dig out is doing well AND the other Zkittles I planted in the same pot as a backup (as I thought the one I dug out might not make it) sprouted! So now I have two Zkittles in one 10g fabric and I think I'm just gonna let em ride and LST the hell out of both and see what happens!
Week 2
7/26- All the girl's are doing great. I had to use some horticulture wire to prop up a couple of the girls that got a little 'top heavy'. Giving 12oz water ph'd to 6.3-6.5 as needed 2 hours after 'lights on' around each plant, and every other day in the saucers (1/4g/ea) to allow the medium to
wick it up and stay moist. Temp's running 72-81deg with an average RH of 55-60%. I'd like to have the RH a bit higher but the girl's seem to be doing fine at the present. 😎Ordered another HLG 650R with the supplemental UV Bar to replace the two SunSystems 315 CMH's....should be a game changer! 💪 Also have an AC Infinity 6" exhaust system w/controller on the way to replace the Hurricane 400cfm fan I'm currently running along with another TerraBloom 6'x24" carbon filter as my current filter is losing efficiency.
7/27- Watered today ph'd to 6.4 with 2 tbsp/gallon unsulfured molasses added. I split 2 1/2g between the eight girls by pouring 12oz around each plant and then dividing the rest in their saucers to be wicked up. Temp's, RH and CO2 all on point!
7/28- Light watering today with straight non-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.5. Growth is looking great across the board. Even the late starters, Seedsman Zkittles #1 & #2, are coming along nicely! All the ladies are averaging in height between 2 1/2' - 3 1/2" and should be getting ready to explode as their root systems become more established and are able to start taking in more nutrients. Fans are running 24/7 to strengthen the stalks....they're gonna need it to support the buds these ladies will be sporting in a couple months!
7-29- Watered all through the bottom today with straight .5g non-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.3. Temp's, RH, CO2 and VPD all on point. Unhooked carbon filter from hose as it's losing efficiency restricting exhaust air flow. Girl's all growing STRONG especially the #1 Seedsman Gelato OG in Fox Farm/Nature's Living Soil mix and the FastBuds Purple Lemonade #2 also in the Fox Farms/Nature's Living Soil mix with the Seedsman Gelato OG #2 in SOHUM soil is getting close. I appears the two girl's in SOHUM soil are not quite as tall as the others but are leafing out well and are stocky with close node spacing.....hmmm?
7/30- Lift checked all the pots and gave 2 1/2g straight non-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.4 with 2 tbsp of unsulfured molasses added. I split the 2 1/2g evenly between all eight giving 20oz through the top and the remainder in the pans to be wicked up. I turned up the HLG 650R to 400w at the wall and kept the height the same. My AC Infinity Cloudline T6 exhaust and new Terrabloom 6x24" carbon filter came today, as did the UV bar from HLG for the HLG 650R that'll be here on the 3rd.....CAN'T WAIT!!! All the girl's are really doing well and starting to begin 'gettin it on'! All are healthy and running between 3-4" tall. Side note: While installing the new exhaust fan setup on of my pooches sneaked in the room and munched off a half of a shade leaf on the #1 Purple Lemonade....she's definitely got good taste!😆 In the process of installing the AC Infinity fan I relocated it and the filter to the left side of the tent and re-routed the cold air intake hoses so that both enter the tent at the bottom and are positioned at either side of the tent. I setup the AC Infinity which is a breeze, set all my high/low limits and alarms and let here run! Temperatures now are running 72-81 deg. and RH is remaining stable @ 55%, CO2@800ppm. All in all a good day!😎👍
7/31- Water looks good on all the girls. I'll just top water lightly today with straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.5. The AC Infinity is really a 'game changer' as temp's are now staying in a stable range without having to adjust the settings on my Ideal Air 14k BTU AC unit...niceee! All my ladies are finishing up their second week like champs and I'm looking forward to the next few weeks as when their root systems reach the 'super-soil' they are going to hopefully have some explosive growth. I'll also be evaluating all of them in the coming week to determine candidates for topping and LST to begin.
8/1- The second HLG 650R came today! I tidied up the tent before installing the 650R: moved EXHALE CO2 bags-one on each side, vacuumed, took care of any loose hanger cords and re-positioned the three thermometers/hygrometers. I installed the second HLG 650R w/UV bar in the tent and set both lights to 400w @ the wall and have both boards centered, level and hung @ 36" from the soil. These lights are AWESOME! I checked temp's on the boards & drivers after they were running for 4 hours: 98deg on the drivers and 94deg on the board...pretty freakin sweeet! Gave the girl's a day off from water as they all looked GTG and are all getting ready to really turn on! I plan on hitting them early tomorrow morning with a good watering. Temp's-RH-VPD all on point for this week. I've been continuing to run the humidifier set @ 60% RH and I'm going so far as to ph the water going into it to see if it makes a difference as my well water runs 7.8ph @225ppm dissolved solids and I hypothesized that as the plants were absorbing the moisture from the air it might be beneficial to have that moisture at the correct ph.....we'll see I guess!
😎Week 3
8/2- Here we go into week three and I'm looking to see some explosive growth happening in the tent soon!😃 The girls are all running 2 1/2" to 4" in height with the Seedsman Gelato OG's and FastBuds Purple Lemonade currently kicking all the others butts!💪 Gave a good watering this morning 2hrs after lights on with non-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.4. I plan on maintaining that watering schedule from here on out. I refilled the humidifier with non-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.5. Love the new setup with the two HLG quantum boards, 4 plants per light, and currently running at 400w per light. I'm looking forward to some record yields with this new setup using these 650R's! Temp's/RH/VPD are where they need to be at this point with daytime temp's maxing @ 83 Deg F/ nighttime @ 68 Deg F, RH @ 55%, VPD @ 9.0😀
8/3- Started compost tea last night, ingredients were; 5g de-clorinated 7.0ph water & 5tbsp unsulfured molasses, 4 cups worm castings, 1 cup alfalfa meal, 1 cup kelp meal, 2tbsp bat guano, 1 scoop Great White mycorrhiza and 3tbsp Neptunes Harvest seaweed extract which were added after the air was turned on and the 'bag' was in the bucket.
I fimmed the FastBuds Purple Lemonade #2 and Seedsman Gelato OG #1, LST'd the FastBuds Crystal Meth #1 & #2, and the Seedsman Zkittles #1. Whilst doing all that I noticed my old friends the fungus gnats so I immediately placed sticky traps in all pots....little bastards! I went online and ordered Nematoads who will have a field day with the gnats!
The girls all got watered in from the top and bottom with de-chlorinated straight water ph'd to 6.6 @ 76deg 225ppm, lights still @ 36" above the soil and running @ 400w each.😎
8/4- Gave the girls compost tea for breakfast. The tea had brewed for 38hrs., had 854ppm and ph'd @ 7.1...PERFECT! I split 4g of the tea between the eight ladies @ 1/2 gallon each. I also topped the FastBuds Crystal Meth #2 and Seedsman Gelato OG #2 and checked and adjusted LST on all. Temp's, RH, and VPD all on point with the girls are showing it!
8/5- Soil felt moist so skipping water today and will feed early AM. All the ladies have taken on a deeper shade of green and are really starting to take off since receiving the compost tea yesterday and they'll be going crazy by the end of this week going into week four. The FastBuds Crystal Meth #1 & #2 are both showing early flowering signs already and are starting to get some purple coloration in new growth which looks natural, not a deficiency. I topped the FastBuds Purple Lemonade #1 and Seedsman Zkittles #1 and checked/adjusted LST on all.
8/6- Gave a good watering this morning with 4g of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8, went through, and tucked leaves on all the girls to keep exposing lower bud sites to the light so that we have a nice even canopy for flower! All the girls have either been topped, fimmed or LST'd at this point and all I'll be doing from here on out is tucking leaves and possibly some very minor defoliation if needed,
8/7- All the girls look very happy this morning and are starting to get ready for that stretch at the beginning of flower. The FastBuds Crystal Meth's are the shortest, along with the Seedsman Zkittles #1 and the CM's are already showing pistils but I'm not declaring that they're in 'flower' quite yet.
8/8- Gave all the ladies a good water in this morning with .5g each of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.9 @ 76deg. Went over all the girls and tucked shade leaves to expose bud sites, removed a couple of the ones that couldn't be tucked, and were blocking numerous bud sites. I also continued with LST on all bending branches outward to expose them to more of that HLG 650R goodness!
Week 4
8/9 - All the girls are still moist so no water today as I'll let them dry out a bit until tomorrow when I'll check them again in the morning. The FastBuds Purple Lemonade and Seedsman Gelato OG girls are ALL getting it done! They are all 8" and bushy as hell! I've been tucking leaves, gently bending branches and doing my daily LST on all the girls to stay on top of them in this stretch before flower.
8/10- Checked the soil on all the ladies and it was very moist down deep, but fairly dry in the top 4" so I gave all the ladies a small drink (1 quart each) of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @ 77deg. OMG they are really starting to bush out and stretch now, especially the girls in the Fox Farm/Natures Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate mix, they're literally exploding! FastBuds Purple Lemonade and Seedsman Gelato OG's continue to lead the pack with growth and overall looks although the rest are now looking like they're gonna give them a run for their money!
8/11- No water for the girl's today. Mail Call! The Nematodes arrived today, 10 million of them, goodbye Fungus Gnats!😀 Temp's, RH and VPD all remain on point with day temps running 75-84 deg. and 68-74 deg. during the 5 hour dark period, RH maintaining @ 50-55% (I've been running the humidifier set @55% and I'm adjusting the ph to 6.5 on the water in it as well and the VPD runs from .90 to 1.18. Started a batch of Compost Tea ( 4g de-chlorinated 6.9ph water, 4 cups Worm Castings, 2/3 cup Kelp Meal, 2/3 cup Alfalfa Meal, 1/4 cup Bat Guano, 2 scoops Great White Mycorrhiza, 4 tbsp. Neptune's Harvest Seaweed Extract, 2 tbsp Alaskan Fish Extract and 1/3 cup unsulfured molasses) for the girls breakfast in 2 days. They're all growing like crazy now and the FastBuds Crystal Meth is beginning to flower along with one of the FB Purple Lemonades, the rest shouldn't be far behind.
8/12- Applied the Nematodes to all the girls this morning mixed into 2 gallons of 75 deg de-chlorinated 6.8ph water divided equally among them. I continued with my daily mild LST on all the girls, continuing to spread them out to allow light to reach all parts of the plants. I also cranked up the HLG 650R's to 450 watts each for a total of 900w @ the wall hung @ 36" from the soil. After I eventually have them cranked to max during flower I may drop them slightly depending on how the girls react.
8/13- Compost Tea for breakfast! Fed the girl's 1/2g each through the top with tea (840ppm, 1780EC, 7.6ph @ 81 deg), tucked shade leaves and LST'd where needed. FastBuds Purple Lemonade's and Crystal Meth's are all in flower, still waiting on Seedsman! Growth is phenomenal, girls are healthy looking with the exception of the Seedsman Gelato OG in SOHUM Living Soil - she is getting what appears to be tip burn, I'll be keeping an eye on her.
8/14- Well well...almost the end of Week 4 and I thought it would be prudent to calibrate my Blue Labs Soil PH Pen and TDS/EC Pen, which I did. I then proceeded to check all of the ladies mediums ph and OMG am I glad I did! All of the Natures Living Soil/Happy Frog mixes ph'd between 6.2 and 6.8 which is perfect! The SOHUM Living Soil with the Seedsman Gelato OG in it also had an acceptable ph of 6.4 ----BUT, and I mean a BIG but, the SOHUM Living Soil with the FastBuds Crystal Meth #2 in it had a ph of 5.2-5.4 checked at four places around the pot!...WTF! I double checked everything and same result. The plant looks generally healthy, although not as robust as it's sister in NLS/FF mix. Gonna sleep on this and ponder my next move. The rest of the ladies are on FIRE😍 They are all in flower now with the Seedsman Zkittles the furthest behind and the FastBuds Crystal Meth #1 and both of the Purple Lemonade's are the furthest along so far. No water today as they got a healthy dose of compost tea yesterday but I did do my daily leaf tucking and light LST to keep the light penetration good into the lower bud sites. Speaking of light penetration, I cranked the HLG 650R's up to 450w at the wall each for a total of 900w hitting my girls now and lowered both of the 650R's 4" from 36" to 32" and will see how the ladies respond.
8/15- Well, I slept on what to do with the Crystal Meth #2 in the SOHUM Living Soil with the ACIDIC ph. Today I ran 4 1/2 gallons of de-chlorinated water @ 7.7 ph to try to get some ph back. I measured the ph and PPM/EC of the runoff and more surprises awaited. The runoff had a PH of 4.2, repeat FOUR POINT TWO, 1480 PPM and an EC of 6550 @ 77 deg. I don't know how this girl looks as good as she does considering that she's basically living in ten gallons of between black coffee and tomato juice! I'll check the ph of her medium tomorrow and see where we go from here. I gave all the rest of my girls 1 gallon of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.9 @ 76 deg. and defoliated a couple of leaves on the OG's, Zkittles and lightly LST'd everybody, even the girl living in a pot of coffee!...LMAO😂 ONWARD to Week FIVE!!! Whoo Hoo!!!👍💪
I'm running all 10g fabric pots- Six of them are filled with Fox Farms Happy Frog mixed with Natures Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate, two are filled with SOHUM Living Soil. Every pot's medium ph's @ 6.2-6.8 except one SOHUM which is @ 5.2-5.4! WTH? Don't know how she's alive!
Must be genetics, maybe that strain was breed in hydro for past generations, i have a plant that drinks 7.5 ph water and when i lowered it to 6.3 she started getting sick. Had to go back to 7.5 ph. Smh.
WEEK 5
8/16- Alrighty! Start of week five and all the ladies are in flower and starting to look sexy as hell! Even the Crystal Meth #2 in the SOHUM Living Soil that had a soil ph of 5.2-5.4 and 4.2 ph runoff on a 4 1/2 gallon flush of 7.7 ph water is doing well! I checked the ph on her soil this morning and she's at 6.4...PERFECT! I gave all the girls a drink of de-chlorinated water in the amount of 2 1/2g with 1 tsp CalMag+ added and ph'd to 6.9 split evenly between them.
8/17- Day 30- The girls are all really growing like crazy filling out their 10g fabric pots. I went through all of them today and, using the green horticultural wire LST'd the crap out of everyone! I know, I know....LST on Day 30??? I've LST'd this late before and had really good results so giving it a go this run. Gave all the girls a small drink as they were moist 2" down using 2 1/2g de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @ 75 deg. After I LST'd all the girls, I selectively tucked shade leaves and defoliated a couple here and there and also removed all the shitty little undergrowth down low on the main stalks. Can't believe the FastBuds Crystal Meth #2 came back from the edge of oblivion. I checked her medium(SOHUM Living Soil) ph which is still @ 6.4...whew! I think she's gonna do just fine, although not as good as her sister who's an obviously different phenotype.
8/18- Cranked up the HLG 650R's to max today. Now drawing 1300w at the wall-650w each and raised both lights to 42" high which is giving 800-1100 umols depending on what place on the canopy you check.
8/19- I administered the second dose of live Nematode's with the girls morning watering. I put the Nematodes in 2 1/2 gallons of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @ 74 deg. and split it evenly between all eight pots. I tightened up the LST on all the girls to keep spreading them out and getting better light penetration into the lower canopy.
8/20- I started a batch of Compost Tea this morning- 4 cups worm castings, 1 cup of Alfalfa Meal, 1 cup Kelp Meal, 2 tbsp Bat Guano into 4 1/2 gallons of de-chlorinated water with a 6.9ph in which I added 5 tbsp of unsulphured molasses as a catalyst for the microbes. I'll brew this for 48 hours.
The ladies all were moist enough that I felt safe skipping the water for today, I'll give them a light watering tomorrow, then a heavy feed with the compost tea. I went through and tucked the heck out of leaves blocking bud sites from light (this is a chore as the girls are getting BUSHY as hell!) and removed a few scattered fan leaves that refused to be tucked and were really blocking light into the lower canopy....can't be having that, need the LIGHT!
8/21- Ladies were all looking very perky this morning and the FastBuds Crystal Meth and Purple Lemonade are both getting beautiful purple shades to them especially the FastBuds Crystal Meth #1 in Natures Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate, she's absolutely on FIRE although her node spacing is very wide. The #2 Crystal Meth in SOHUM that had the ph issue with her medium seems to have recovered after I flushed the shit out of her. She's behind her sister and definitely has a different structure than the #1 phenotype. The Purple Lemonade #1 & #2 are both flowering with #2 looking way better. The #1 Purple Lemonade has some thick kushy leaves and she's a short little biatch, in contrast to the #2 which is tall and lanky with wider node spacing. The #2 Purple Lemonade is having a little issue apparently with the nitrogen level in the medium as she's getting 'claw tips' on several of her leaves and judging by her dark green coloration, she's nitrogen rich right now. I'll keep an eye on her but don't think it's a big issue at this moment in time. The Seedsman Gelato OG in Natures Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate is getting bushy and has filled out the 10 gallon fabric pot. She's got a ton of bud sites and it's a struggle training to keep all the sites exposed to light. The #2 Gelato OG in SOHUM is doing about the same as her sister but she's not quite as tall. The Seedsman Zkittles #1 slowed down on her stretch and just decided to get bushy instead! She's still in pre-flower but is very healthy and will be getting it on very soon! Her 'Sin Twisters' Zkittles #2 & #3 are beautiful and in flower. The Zkittles 'twins' were previously the shortest plants in this run but have caught up and are as tall as the Zkittles #1 @ 14".
8/22- End of Week 4! The girls got Compost Tea ( 8.1 ph, 840 ppm and 1636 EC @ 78 deg.) for breakfast this morning along with a top dress on the six ladies growing in Natures Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate / Fox Farms Happy Frog mix. The two SOHUM pots with the Seedsman Gelato OG #2 and FastBuds Crystal Meth #2 got 4 tbsp of 2-8-4 slow release dry amendments by Down To Earth top dressed and worked in by hand. I gave them each 1/2 gallon of Compost Tea after top dressing to help water in the nutrients. I went through all the girls and tucked and gently spread their branches to continue to train them as they get ready to really start flowering. The FastBuds girls are getting MORE colorful each and every day and I can't wait to open the tent each morning to see them....BEAUTIFUL!!!
Week 6
8/23- Gave all the girls a lite watering this morning giving them 1/4 gallon each de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8. They're all doing really well, albeit the FastBuds Purple Lemonade #1 in Natures Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate looks like she's overloaded on nitrogen as she's dark green and her leaves are super thick. Not much to do but to keep an eye on her but I feel it's going to affect her yield as she's nowhere near her sister in size or development....maybe just a funky pheno! lol The FastBuds Crystal Meth #2 in SOHUM Living Soil has her issues as well. She's the one that wasn't doing well so I checked the ph of her soil which turned out to be 5.2-5.4, which explains her issues. I've flushed her, (runoff was 4.8 ph! 1700+ EC) and her soil ph is now in an acceptable range of 6.3-6-5 (like to see it a bit higher but I'll take it) but she's showing deficiencies of macro nutrients which I'm hoping the last compost tea and top dress will help with.
8/24- Heavy water today with each lady receiving 1 gallon of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.7 @ 74 deg. I continued on my daily quest of LST, gently manipulating branches to increase light penetration, and tucking shade leaves to achieve the same. I switched the girls around in the tent, putting the shorter ladies on the left and the taller girls on the right so that I can keep the HLG 650R's at the ideal height above the canopy. I checked the ph on all the pots and everyone is coming in @ 6.3-6.7...perfect! The FastBuds Crystal Meth #1 is getting SOOO dark now....freaking BEAUTIFUL! The FastBuds Purple Lemonade's buds have an extreme citrus aroma to them already!
8/26- Gave all the girls a drink this morning- 3 1/2 gallons of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @ 74 deg. split evenly between them. Started to induce supplemental UV on the right side (FastBuds Crystal Meth's) of the tent for 4 hours in the middle of the light cycle yesterday and will be continuing for the remainder of the run. Trained branches on the Gelato OG's as they are some bushy bitch's and tucked shade leaves on all to get the light IN!
8/27- The FastBuds Crystal Meth #2 in the SOHUM Living Soil was looking like shit...loss of color in leaves, leaf spotting/yellowing. Obviously a result of the severe PH imbalance that it experienced and now, I'm thinking, is deficient in several macro nutrients. I hit her with a 1/4 cup of Kelp Meal and then watered it in with 1 1/2 gal. de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 with 1 tbsp/gal Seaweed Extract and 5 ml/gal. CalMag+ added to it. All the other girls received 2 1/2 gal. de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @ 75 deg. Daily "Train n Tuck"
8/28- Gave the FastBuds Crystal Meth #2 in SOHUM 1/8 cup Bat Guano by top dress and watered in with 1 gal. de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.7 @ 74 deg. I also gave the FastBuds Purple Lemonade #1 a sprinkle of Bat Guano for the nitrogen as some of her leaves are yellowing a bit early. All the rest of the ladies received 3 gal. de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @ 74 deg. split evenly between them. I started a batch of compost tea for the girls Sunday breakfast- 1 cup Natures Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate, 3 cups Worm Castings, 1/2 cup Alfalfa Meal, 1/2 cup Kelp Meal in mesh bag hung in 4 1/2 gallons of de-chlorinated water ph'd @ 7.4 from the tap @ 75 deg. to which I added 6 tbsp. of unsulfured molasses as a catalyst. 315 ppm / 760 EC. Performed daily "Tuck n Train" routine.😀
8/29- Six weeks behind us... about four to go!👍
-Start of Week 7-
8/30- Here we go...Week seven should end with ALL the ladies in flower, I hope! The Seedsman Zkittles #3 is the 'last girl out' having been a week behind the others. The Seedsman Gelato OG in Natures Living Soil is not as robust as its sister in the SOHUM Living Soil. They are both visually extremely similar in appearance except the one in Sohum is roughly 25% bigger!...interesting!
The ladies received Compost Tea for breakfast @ 1/2 gallon each but before I fed them I added 1 cup of Diatomaceous Earth to each pots medium which I worked into the soil by hand (this will cut the Fungus Gnats and any other undesirables in the medium to shreds! Muahaha!😈) then watered it in with the tea. The Crystal Meth #1 is showing nitrogen toxicity and possibly the Purple Lemonade #1 as the Crystal Meth #1's leaf tips are 'clawing' and she's deep green. The Purple Lemonade #1's also really dark and shes got some yellowing of a few leaves happening but no 'clawing'. I'm just going to let her eat as she's a short, stocky little biatch with some heavy, stanky buds forming!. The FastBuds genetics are appearing to be very sensitive to nutrients, more so than the Seedsman strains which haven't shown any real issues other than being slower to flower and BUSHY as hell!😁
*On a side note, I popped nine photo-period beans today- Dutch Passion Power Plant, White Widow & Meringue / Archive's Poochie Love and some Blueberry Skunk from bag seeds🙏
8/31- I moved the fans directions to avoid too much wind on the girls this morning as it was blowing pretty hard on the Crystal Meth #1 and Zkittles #1. Going to put pot elevators under all the fabric pots today to allow any water/nutrients to drain out and not be reabsorbed. Gave the Crystal Meth #1 a 2 gallon flush with straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 to try to leech out some of the nitrogen from her. I gave the other ladies a lite water if they felt dry and tucked shade leaves on the Gelato OG's, Zkittles and Purple Lemonade's. Conditions in the 4x8 are right on point for Week 7: 64-82 deg., 65-70% RH and a 11.1 VPD

Zkittles #1- 17"
Zkittles #2- 21"
Zkittles #3- 20"
9/1- Lite water: 2 1/2 gal. de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.7 @ 74 deg. divided evenly between all but Purple Lemonade #1 as she was still very moist and the Crystal Meth #1 which got flushed with 2 gal. of 6.4 ph de-chlorinated water @ 74 deg. I did a heavy defoliation on the Crystal Meth #2 taking off all the crappy looking shade leaves that were damaged from the ph'd imbalance she had. I also defoliated both the Seedsman Gelato OG's and Zkittles #1 & #2 as they are SO bushy and leafy they needed it to get the light down into their canopies.
9/2- The FastBuds Purple Lemonade's are displaying to vastly different phenotype's with #1 growing short, squat with THICK indica leaves and the darkest green color. #1 also is exhibiting fox tail structure on her buds which are extremely resinous already. The #2 Purple Lemonade is tall with wider node spacing, a traditional bud structure with the flowers exhibiting rich purple hues contrasted by snow white pistils...beautiful! Both ladies have an extremely pungent citrus aroma to them! The Gelato OG's are both putting their energy into the multitude of bud sites that both have and both are tall, bushy plants with multiple branches although the #2 in SOHUM Living Soil is doing slightly better than #1 in Natures Living Soil. The FastBuds Crystal Meth's are both stacking nicely although the #2 will never be the beautiful specimen her sister is I'm hoping she'll finish out with a decent yield of quality smoke. The Seedsman Zkittles #1 & #2 are both doing well, both into flower with their buds just starting their development. The #3 Zkittles is doing her best to catch up to her sisters but is still about a week behind them, just coming out of pre-flower.
Gave all the girls a drink of de-chlorinated water which had a ph of 6.7 @ 75 deg.. I evenly divided 4 gal between them, then went over all tucking leaves.
9/4- Gave all the girls 5 gal. of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.7 @ 74 deg. with 3 tbsp/gal of unsulphured molasses added to it and divided evenly between all. Daily branch coaxing and leaf tucking. The FastBuds ladies are all way ahead of the Seedsman girls and are well into flower. I'm guessing that the FB's will be harvested within the next 7-10 days and the Seedsman's 1-2 weeks later. All the Seedsman plants are doing fantastic! They're all bushy with good color and a ton of budsites!
9/5- Cleaned the pre-filter on the Terra-Bloom carbon filter as it was clogged. Watered all today with 4 gal de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @75 deg. with 5 ml/gal CalMag+ added. Goodbye Week 7...Here we go into the home stretch!!!
I apologize for slacking on my diary this past week. I had some medical issues that are now behind me....back to GROWING STRONG! 😃
9/6- The FastBuds ladies aren't called fast for nothing...they'll be going dark in a day or two as they're in fade and trichomes are milky with just a few amber starting to show, just the way I like it!
Lite water for all the FB's, the Seedsman Gelato OG's and Zkittles are some thirsty girls....they drink 1 gallon/day. All got de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.7 @ 75 deg. 225 ppm, FB's 1/2 gallon/ea., Seedsman's 1 gallon/ea. Did my daily leaf tuck on the Zkittles and Purple
Lemonade's. The Gelato OG's are leaning hard on the sativa pheno with long, thin fingered leaves so light penetration is not an issue and the FB Crystal Meth's have wide internodal spacing so light penetration isn't an issue with them either.
9/8- Yesterday morning I watered the Seedsman girl's with 1 gallon each of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.5 @ 74 deg. with 2 tbsp/gallon unsulphured molasses and 1 tbsp/gallon Neptune's Harvest Seaweed Extract. FastBuds received 1 gallon each of de-chlorinated water
ph'd to 6.8 @ 74 deg. to flush. Starting today the FastBuds will not get watered any more and will go into 48 hrs of dark tonight. Watered the Seedsman Gelato OG's and Zkittles with 2 1/2 gallons de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @ 76 deg. split evenly between them.
9/10- Spread the Seedsman ladies out in the tent after taking out the FB's(going dark) All got 1 gallon de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.7 @ 74 deg. I went through all three of the Zkittles and defoliated all the inner lower leaves that weren't doing squat and any big leaves
that were either crossing over each other or blocking a lot of bud sites. The Gelato OG #2 in SOHUM is STACKING like a champ, the #1 in Natures Living Soil/Happy Frog is a little behind her sister. I don't know if it's the fact that the SOHUM soil is extremely fluffy and
airy or something else as the two plants exhibit really stable genetics with near identical structure and appearance, but the one in SOHUM is definitely working it! I hung all four of the FastBuds girls tonight and they are looking and smelling fucking AWESOME!!! The
Purple Lemonade strain has some definite genetic variations happening as the #1 pheno was a runted little shit with fox-tailed bud structure and super thick but long fingered leaves. She's not much on looks but is gonna be some good medicine as she's frosty and
smells like a bowl of lemons! The #2 pheno is 180 degrees different...taller, indica dominant with beautiful bud structure and coloration. She's absolutely gooey with resin coating her dark purple, almost indigo buds! The #2 Crystal Meth grown in the SOHUM Living
Soil that damn near killed her due to EXTREME acidity made it to harvest but she was a disappointment in that her buds never stacked and remain loose...we'll see how she smokes! lol The #1 Crystal Meth is like the #2 Purple Lemonade pheno...she's the choice
pheno...beautiful structure, color, indica dominant phenotype with dark purple/maroon, resinous buds that have a strong eucalyptus aroma.
9/12- Finally the end of Week 8...whew! The four FastBuds girls are hanging in 66 deg @ 60% RH for the next 7-10 days. The four Seedsman's have 1-2 weeks to go with the Gelato OG #2 looking like she'll be the first, followed closely by Zkittles #2. Continuing with de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6-6.8 @ 74-76 deg with 5 ml/gl of CalMag+ added every other watering.
9/13- FastBuds girls have been hanging for 3 days now. Temp's are a constant 66 deg @ 59-60% RH. They all have great trichome production and the Purple Lemonade #2 has the nicest looking bud structure-gonna have super 'bag appeal'- compared to the other pheno
which was a runt with fox-tailed buds and the Crystal Meth's whose buds are super fluffy/airy (not real happy with how they stacked...or didn't). The Seedsman Zkittles and Gelato OG's are all doing really good with the possible exception of the Zkittles #3 which is
sharing a 10g fabric pot with the #2 pheno. She's been pissed off for awhile now having pale green leaves that droop more than they pray. I haven't over/under watered her and she's had adequate nutrients. The #2 pheno sharing the pot with her is 7-10 days ahead
of her and damn close to harvest so she'll just have to be pissed for a couple more days, then I'll remove #2 and she'll have the pot to herself for a week or so! The girls are all drinking 1/2 to 3/4 gallons of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.5-6.8 @ 74-76 deg. daily and
stacking nicely! They all have such incredible aromas with the Gelato OG #2 and the Zkittles #2 being my favorites so far as they both have a really sweet/hashy smell to them!
9/15- Five days an the FastBuds and they are drying nice and S L O W...perfect!
9/17- Seven days hanging today! The FastBuds are drying perfectly and have faded beautifully, covered in crystallized goodness! They are close but the small stems still are missing that 'snap' I'm looking for so I'll wait another day or two, checking daily, to start trimming
them up. The Zkittles #2 is 2-3 days from going dark, the #1 and #3 have probably 7-10 days left. The Gelato OG #2 is massive! Her leaves are all still green with no sign of any fade. She is STACKED and has that 'sway' and if she keeps stacking I'll let her go another
week if necessary. The #1 Gelato OG has very similar plant structure but her buds are no where close to the stacking of her sisters. The #2 is definitely going to be the big winner in the yield column!
9/19- All the Seedsman's girls received 3 1/2 gallons of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @ 74 deg. with 5ml/g CalMag+ added. Went through and lightly defoliated where needed and tucked anything that was blocking light to bud sites. FastBuds have been hanging for 10
days and I'm trimming them today! Onward to Week 10!👍
9/20- Start of Week 10!
9/21- All the ladies are getting frosty as hell! The Seedsman Gelato OG's are freakin monsters with the #2 pheno growing in SOHUM Living Soil by far the choice phenotype. She has just got multiple massive cola's that are stacked rock hard and is
producing a lot of resin. The #1 pheno growing in Natures Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate / Happy Frog mix has a different structure (even though the node spacing/leaf structure are nearly identical which is a sign of stable genetics). She is lanky, with multiple
cola's but they're not stacked like the #2's are. Also, she's exhibiting a beautiful purple hue on her shade leaves that carries into the buds which looks amazing! I've been watering daily at this point in the game giving each girl 1 gallon of de-chlorinated water ph'd
between 6.5-6.8 @72-76 deg. with 5ml/g CalMag+ added every third day and that's about the game plan from here until harvest which should be here by 9/27; daily water, maintain environment ( temp's between 65-75 deg. RH 45-50% VPD 9.7-11.3) and check
those trichomes!
9/23- What can I say....These ladies are SMOKIN HOT! Taste the rainbow with the Seedsman Zkittles and brace yourself for the sweet embrace of the Seedsman Gelato OG's! Trichomes are 80-90% milky, with some still showing clear and a small percentage of amber are
visible. All the girl's are on schedule to go dark this weekend for 48 hrs. with the exception of the Seedsman Zkittles #3 pheno as she's 7-10 days behind the rest (which sucks and I didn't think about when I popped her in with the other. She's been pissed off about
having to share the 10 gallon pot with her sister!) so now I'll have to just chop and hang the #2 Zkittles without giving it the 48hr. dark period....no biggie! As always, daily water/trichome check.😎👌
9/25- I chopped and hung the Zkittles #2 that's sharing a 10 gallon pot with her pissed off sister. Her trichomes were all milky and 15-20% were amber so it was time for her to say adios! The #3 Zkittles should enjoy her last couple of weeks not having to share her space
anymore. The Zkittles #1's trichomes are getting close but I'm hoping to get another week out of her as she's still putting on weight as are the two Gelato OG's. If I can be patient enough to let these girls go 75-80 days it's gonna payoff!
9/27- Countdown time! Daily trichome checks mandatory. All four are getting 1/2 gallon of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.7-6.8 @ 70 deg. I've dropped the water temp 5 deg. and run the tent temp's down to 62 deg. during lights off maxing @ 78-80 deg. lights on which is doing a great job of bringing out some fantastic coloration on all the ladies!. All are continuing to receive 4 hours of supplemental UVA/UVB during the middle of the 19/5 light cycle.
9/29- The Zkittles is a 80 day indica leaning hybrid and the Gelato OG's are 75 day mostly sativa hybrids. The Zkittles are short, bushy and stocky, while the OG's are noticeably taller (especially the #1 pheno which has a huge main cola) with the #2 pheno growing in SOHUM Living Soil is an absolute BEAST with multiple HUGE cola's that sway in the breeze!
10/1- Checked trichomes tonight and am going to put the Zkittles #1 and Gelato OG #2 in the dark tomorrow night for 48 hrs. The Gelato OG #1 will probably go dark in 2-3 more days, while the Zkittles # 3 will be the last to go as she's a week or so behind the rest.
10-3-
This strain was a learning experience for me, even after 40 years of growing there's always room to learn! I would only recommend LST on this strain as I topped one of the two and she ended up a dwarf only yielding 47gm. The other pointer is, be PATIENT...these girls look so beautiful at week 7-8 you'll want to chop them. Being patient and waiting for week 9 or possibly 10(depending on where the trichomes are) will reward you with a HUGE purple sticky icky monster of a cultivar. She's sensitive to Nitrogen so go light on it and let her do her thing...you won't be disappointed! Day or Night?....I like this strain from AM to PM and everything in-between, freaking delicious!😍
This cultivar was a blast to grow 😎👍even though I did have major issues with the #2 pheno growing in the SOHUM Living Soil which, I'm positive, severely affected its yield and overall quality of the flowers. This strain requires little to no feeding and likes its PH to be on point! Take care of those and she'll reward you with beautiful dark maroon/purple stalks and stems during veg and once she goes into flower get ready for the prettiest dark purple, almost black, resin laden buds. My pheno's bud structure was fairly loose and airy but the terpenes and trichome production on them more than made up for the lack of those rock hard nugs we all love! I just wish I had let them go another 7-10 days as that probably would have given them more time to stack. Also, the issues with the extremely acidic medium on the #2 pheno were a huge bummer as I have another strain currently in the same medium(just not 4.8 ph like the other! lol) that's on her way to producing a record yield and I wonder how the outcome would change had she been in a better medium...😏
Both phenotypes grew without a hitch with the #1 showing more sativa traits with wide node spacing and a large main cola. The #2 was more indica leaning with tighter node spacing and an overall shorter/stockier stature. The #1 finished in 11 weeks with some beautiful purple hues showing up during the last 2 weeks. The #2 was the ONE with HUGE multiple colas absolutly covered in hairs that were all a brilliant orange color at harvest. Overall this strain was super easy to grow, was tolerant of nutrients, had strong disease resistance, SUPER yields, and is one I'll be growing multiple times in the future! 😎👌
Seedsman Auto Zkittles...what a thirsty, chow hound she is! What a fun cultivar to grow. She'll veg for a good 30+ days all the while getting hungrier by the day. She'll take 1200ppm and laugh at you while drinking 1 1/2 g a day to satisfy her constant thirst. Yes, you have to feed and water her more frequently than some but the absolutely gorgeous, HEAVY/STICKY buds she rewards you with makes it all worthwhile! Let her go 80 days and she'll give your scale a run for its money! I can't wait to grow this Seedsman strain again as she's definitely one of my absolute favorites and I'm sure she'll be one of yours too! 😎👌
