Day 70: Brain Cake seemed thirsty and wanting more nutrients: Topped off water yesterday, added +3ml of hyro A&B and +1ml of power roots & pure enzyme. EC went from 0.8 -> 1.0 Day 71: Brain Cake is showing symptoms, many top leaves have deformed tips and light interveinal chlorosis starting on opposite end of the tip and dark interveinal chlorosis at the end of the tip. EC is 0.8-0.9 (not very accurate meter :/ ) Not sure whether this is a nutrient deficiency or excess/lockout. The ph has been between 5.6 and 6.5 most of the time the past week, the reservoir change was 4-5 days ago. Plagron indicates to give more hydo A&B in proportion to their roots and enzyme nutrients in the first weeks of flowering (during veg these are given in proportion), so maybe these new problems are due to the different balance of nutrients that I may have times wrongly. Finally the problems may be due to the water reservoirs holding approx 12 liters in practice and the Brain Cake drinks approx 2-3.5L a day so maybe the water res is very unstable but after a day the PH usually remains in range and the EC usually drops a bit the first day after adding nutrients and stays pretty stable the rest of the week. Any suggestions are more than welcome! Day 72: Yesterday evening made an upgraded reservoir for the Brain Cake dwc (as we suspect the leaf problems may be due to instable water because of small res and roots nearly completely filling the res). Now the Brain Cake is in a 60L box with approx 32L of water, EC set to 1.0 and ph 5.7-6.5. She seems to be happy, nice and perky this morning. FYI the roots seem more orange in the video! They are on the white side though, just a bit of stain from the nutrients but looking very good overall.

Why are the tips of the leaves yellow on the highest growth points of the Brain Cake? - light burn? Since a few days the light is at 80% (mars sp3000 300w full spectrum led in a 60*120cm at 80cm above the top of the plants) - nutrient burn/shortage? Res changed a few days ago

@gmslave i think you got the N backward. it's more available at higher pH. that's one of the main reasons the recommended pH for soil is higher, because it's tougher to get N out of soil - whether due to microbes involved, physical obstacles, whatever.. i don't know the nitty-gritty details of causality, unfortunately. extra tidbit for answers. i wouldn't trust those 'growweedeasy' ph charts.. i think they are a bit suspsect on the information they provide, but .. oh well. i wouldn't trust it without verifying what it says through actual research conducted on this stuff... Most plants researched prefer the same narrow range of concentrations and ratios of nutes. marijuana is not different from this very common grouping of plants. So, most research will apply well in this regard to other species. in this particular case, it kinda shows what i'm talking about that so-called pH chart. N is a solid bar across whole spectrum of "hydro" chart, and you can see the lower end on the "soil" chart. in this case, they got it right. More likely made by people that took a high school chem class and didn't do well. but, if you study that chart... at <6 you will inevitably have deficiencies and problems... if that's true why do people recommend 5.5-5.8? Why aren't those people constantly having Mg, Ca, Mn defieciencies? That chart is trash, that's why, lol. generalizations only... if its range is 'higher' figure a higher pH could help. beyond that don't use it in a specific, precise, black-and-white way. those charts are not accurate in ways that can worsen problems. right now, most science is butchered by this industry for money.

The leaf tips around the top of the plant show interveinal chlorosis (dark green/purple near tip, light green near leaf base) and leaf tips are curling/deforming since yesterday!

Update: the leaf edges are curling upwards and tips twisting, I think its a molybdenum shortage because all the symptoms match, however I have kept my ph above 5.5 so I don't know what else to do to fix it. I increased the EC slightly and she is still happy, but the molybdenum deficiency symptoms are still slowly progressing! Also I thought the problem might have been due to the reservoir being small so I upgraded to a 30+ liter reservoir which keeps the ph and ec nice and stable, HOWEVER now there is white foam in the res (but no odor, roots are white and not slimy...) I think the foam may be due to the enzyme nutrients breaking down old matter and maybe I didn't clean the new hydro system well enough. Anyway, anyone have any idea how to fix a molybdenum deficiency?

The leaves of some of the main buds are showing problems. The tips are curling/pointin up and crispy and have yellow/brow tips. The leaves also seem to be showing big spots but the color is difficult to see since the leaves are grey/purple/brown the spots seem greenish/yellow

I suffered with this in the past. Pinned it down to light stress as all other factors were down. 1 way to tell if its light stress is if ur leaf stems go purple. Which I see yours a very red. This is basically sunburn. If you have a fell spectrum only go 2 100% last 2 weeks of flower. The sunburn is caused by the uv that the lamp gives off and although great for thc production you only want to apply it when buds are at most susceptible to it. I go on manufactures guide most of the time but I have great reflective walls so I take off 5% regardless the height, my light is at 26" at 80% if I go down to 18" I go downtown to 60% Guide is 18to24" 60-80% power im only at 80% as my light is slightly higher. My stems stay green now. Look into Shane from Migro-and flushing. Very interesting shit based on the myth behind flushing. Long story short you don't need to. As its impossible to change the chemical makeup of a plant thats taken months to form. The smoothness comes from a very slow dry in a controlled enviroment. Any way I'm rambling Catch you on the flip side

who knows how good they smell 😁 good harvest🌳

@DreamIT, Honestly, they smell much less than any of my previous grows! I am hoping this is because this run my temps are lower than any of my previous runs so crossing my fingers that they are keeping those terpenes locked inside XD But yes when I rub them the smells come out... making me terribly impatient :D

How are liking the MARS SP3000 light brother? Thinking of upgrading but want as many personal 1st hand reviews as possible

@Slurpy_Terpy, looks amazing, thanks bro. I just bought one, can't wait to get it. Do you turn it all into extracts? If so, you might not lose yield. The extra Cannabinoids might compensate for the loss of plant mass. Obviously I have no idea if thats the case tho, just a thought. 😂 Anyway best of luck buddy 👊

@GuerrillaNo_4, Hey mate! So in the past I tried hps and the blue/purple leds and now the sp3000 'full spectrum'. The sp3000 gives me the highest yield and most trichomes - not sure yet about the terpenes as the blue/purple leds would give me very tasty bud but definitely more terps than hps lights. The sp3000 doesn't produce too much heat but you definitely need your extractor fan on, its sturdy enough (I hit my head on it a few times and not a dent ^^) and the lower buds (at like 1 meter from the light) still put on a nice amount of resin and denseness. I would definitely recommend this light, I have been reading about using blue spectrum lights for the last week or two of flower to increase terps/resin (at the cost of yield) so I might try this sometime in the future... Good luck m8
