Man these things popped quickly and have sprouted up fast, about 3 days old now. Looking forward to the smells and tastes on this one from other reviews! I've been wanting a great banana flavor and hopefully this will deliver.
Low key week, steady growth. I'm not using any amended soil like last time so I don't expect to run into any nitrogen issues once it switches into flower. Will begin a light N regiment next week when it gets to about 4 inter-nodes.
Another low key week of just water and growth! Week 4 will introduce some cal-mag and a foundation N. I am really loving the big ole deep green leaves, reminds me of Banana leaves.
Low Key week again, they took their first feeding pretty well, only slight burn, but I think they needed it a little to let them know they are alive. Bright big green banana leaves, some slight calcium spots appearing very slightly, will probably increase to 2.5mg/ml.
Another solid week of growth, calmag deficiencies showing up this week right as she switched into flower. Will increase cal-mag to 5ml per gallon and see how she goes, will also be bringing the tea's up to 1tsp per gallon with just the bloom. The bloom and the grow also have high calcium and magnesium content. PH is 6.5, runoff is 6.8, soil root zone PH is a buffered 7, I could put 4ph through the soil and the rootzone ph would still be 7. I am doing cal-mag with the feeding and then with the watering as well.
Lol these poor plants, definitely PH lockout. I ate the cost on bought one of the nice bluelabs PH tester pens for soil, and my old pen was not reading the proper PH, the new pen is reading 7.5ph which would explain all the problems shown in these plants above. My input is always 6.2-6.5ph. Going to adjust PH with watering a buffered solution down to proper ranges. This soil should be amended enough with the last feeding, I'm not going to flush it, but instead add more microbes and lower the PH over the course of a few watering. Unfortunately this same issue is in my solo cup due to a bad soil pen.
Got the PH under 7 after the last watering, still noticing lockout issues. This week I'll go a bit heavier on the feeding and do another buffered PH Water at 6.0.
Finally got the PH in check on these ladies and increased their food, starting to see green come back into the leaves, even the almost dead ones. Trichome and bud production hasn't really slowed, the smell is very enjoyable. All nutrients were top dress per pot.
Defoiled and letting them finish out this week, the shorter one needs more time than the larger one, I'd say about another 5 days or so, gonna let them drink up the last water in their pots before harvest. Little one might run out longer than 5 days depending on pistils and trichomes.
Happy with how they turned out, I was worried during the middle of it, but they bounced back. Smell and taste on these is something I am really looking forward to the cure of. Will be updating as it cures! Very dense buds on this one.
