Fo' Twenny here with another grow diary to share with all of you! This time we are running Pineapple Express Auto. I have always wanted to try this strain and I really hope it lives up to the hype! There are 21 plants in the veg tent, right now. 17 photoperiod seedlings, 3 autoflower seedlings, and an auto in mid bloom. The deets: Started in Jiffy peat pellets with Roots Organics 707 filling the Solo style plastic cups under and around the peat pellets. The soil was top dressed with .25 tsp of each: Azos, Mycos, and Re-Charge. Let's go microbes! 8/14: Germination was a success. We have a happy healthy baby girl! 👶🏼 At least, it better be a she, because she's supposed to be feminized! Thanks for stopping in and checking out my diary! Peace, love, and frosty nugs!

Fo' Twenny here with an update on the our Pineapple Express Autoflower from Fastbuds! 9/5: She has been growing VIGOROUSLY since she sprouted 8/15. She is healthy, green, and is the TALLEST plant in the garden. She is already starting to push out pistils too! Today, I transplanted from the 16oz solo cup into a one gallon Active Aqua 6" x 6" Square Pot, 8" Tall. I innocculate at the root zone using .5 tsp Mycos from Extreme Gardening .5 tsp Recharge. I sprinkled some White Dutch Clover seed around the top of the pot for a cover crop. BAD NEWS: Half of the blue diodes have gone out in the TMLAPY light. This light was actually gifted to me shortly after a friend purchased it from Amazon and realized it was too small for their space. It seemed to be serving it's purpose well for vegging photos and running bumper crops of autoflowers but it failed only four months after the warranty period ended! Weak-Sauce! Welp, looks like it's time to upgrade the 24"x48" tent to Samsung LM301H boards. I ordered a 320w straight single piece heatsink with 3 boards from Geeklight. I went with the 3k spectrum and switchable UV/IR since all my autoflowers bloom under this light. RHIZOSPHERE: .25 tsp/gal Blue Planet Gold Shield Silica Supplement .25 tsp/gal Fox Farm Gringo Rasta Cal-Mag 1.5 tsp/gal BigBloom .25 tsp/gal Boomerang .125 tsp/gal Wholly Mackerel 1 tsp/gal Southern AG Garden Friendly Fungicide compare to Hydroguard PPM: 749 pH: 6.4 1 tsp/gal Southern AG Garden Friendly Fungicide compare to Hydroguard Thanks for stopping by my garden! Fo' Twenny here with an update on this monster Pineapple Express Auto bred by Fast Buds! Want to see all of the plants in this run? Check out my diary titled 'You choose the strains!" 9/7 - Day 29: She is, by far, the tallest cultivar in the garden! She is looking very healthy and didn't seem to be stressed by transplanting. This is the first auto I haven't LST'd. There really just isn't enough room in the tent at the moment and I can train her later if the gets too out of control. She is really looking great! I can't wait to run more FastBuds genetics! BAD NEWS: Half of the blue diodes have gone out in the TMLAPY light. Fo' Twenny here with another update on our Pineapple Express bred by Fast Buds! I am trying to get more precise and add more detail to my diaries. Let me know your thoughts! Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome. Now on to the details! __________________________________ 9/16 - Day 38: Photoshoot! She is about 17.5" tall now. Thats almost 4 times taller than the photoperiod plants and is the tallest of the other autoflowers. Granted, those have been pruned; her growth rate is very impressive! She is healthy and happy with no overt signs of infestation, disease, or malnutrition! __________________________________ 9/17 - Day 39: Feed Day - I have been feeding my autos with solution used for the photoperiods in the bloom tent and I follow with plain water to dilute since autoflowers dont like the heavier feeds. She received approximately 12oz of nutrient solution. After 15 minutes I added 12 oz of plain tap H2O run through x2 KDF filters pH to 6.4. I use BlueLab pens and calibrate bi-weekly. She just keeps stacking up and putting on weight. She isn't super frosty and not really very odoriferous at this point. Not nearly as frosty as the Fat Banana Auto that was started at the same time. I have grown strains that start slow on resin production early in flower but start spewing resin in their final weeks. Fingers crossed. For now, her strong point seems to be her fast growth which, I think, will result in a larger yield than the Fat Banana Auto. Only time will tell! Now on to the details! ⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬ Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome. 🚿 I mist the medium between feeds with plain H2O💧 with pH adusted within range of 6.1-6.5. It's week 5, her buds are rock hard and super dense. She is starting to put out some frost and her terps are startung to shine through. Not the stringest aroma, quite yet, but you can definitely pick up on the pineapple notes. This week we will lighten up the feeds substantially and get her moving towards harvest. Let's growwww! 📝 Side Note 📝 Irealized my BlueLab Conductivity Meter has the option to switch to EC. Since EC is the most accurate way to measure the nutrient concentration in a solution, I will now be measuring and reporting EC readings rather than PPM. This auto-flower hybrid cultivar (unspecified Indica/Sativa ratio) has an expected flowering time of 63-72 days ! She is looking great, but it's hard to believe she's only halfway through flower. She is starting to purple and there's a little foxtailing happening. This is the first cultivar i have experienced foxtailing with. Can any other growers confirm foxtailing with this strain or could it something environmental? The Fat Banana is not foxtailing and, as previously mentioned, I've never experienced it before with my other cultivars. This is a new light, though, so it makes me wonder if I need to get things better dialed in. There has been no need for trimming and no need for anything else, besides giving a litlle plain filtered H2O pH within range of 6.2 - 6.5 applied between feeds. Week 10. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

She's a good balanced hybrid with some really tasty terps! Not overly narcotic and not racey. The pineapple is definitely apparent in both her taste and aroma. She has some beautiful colors in her with some slight foxtailing happening in late flower. I smoked a rather wet tester bud and wasn't overly excited by the smoke. I tried her again today, with only about 3 weeks of cure time and her smoke is something completely different now. Her flavor is much more pronounced and much smoother. That is to be expected, but this is a strain who really benefitted from just a little cure time. Weight pictured is minus 7 grams.

She was easy to grow. She never complained and required little maintenance. No topping, no training, and just some very minor defoliation. Easy peasey! I look forward to running her again!

Yeah, I’m thinking it’s from the new light. I’m having issues adjusting my bloomspect full spec white light. I have that and my regular (blurple) led in my tent right now, adjusting every damn day now lol.

Beautiful buds on that one! Your foxtailing is most likely genetics. Especially if that's the only plant doing it.

@MrJones, I wish they had day by day updates within each week. I'd be all over that. That way I can better document my feeds too since the may change throughout the week. Sometimes I will flush between feedings or sometimes I still feed with a diluted mix. It depends on what the plants in my garden are telling me. Anyways, sorry for the rant! Cheers and happy growing!

Isn't it annoying as hell to have to water so many plants? Or do you have an automatic watering system in place for all your set ups?

Hey, @FoTwenny so my thoughts on the fox tailing, typically 3 variables that lend to this are Temps, Light (too much), and genetics I cannot speak on the breeding of this plant but when I grew it I did not experience fox tailing, your temperatures are not too hot, so maybe this girl is not liking the amount of the light - you mentioned that you are only halfway through your flower stage but I think that is no correct, Fastbuds Pineapple Express is a 10 week from seed to harvest, mine took part of 13 weeks, but I also feel it was slowed because I stunted it a bit with my aggressive training. You can always move your plant to the edge of the light where the PFD is at its lowest and see if it helps, you may want to reach out to Fast buds - it really looks great, as all your plants do!

FoTwennycommented4 years ago
@MrJones, Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some feedback! Ahhh 10 week seed to harvest... Looked like it was just a 9-10 week bloom period from the website. That would make more sense to me. I appreciate your help! Happy growing my friend!
