WEEKLY SUMMARY:
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
🙋♀️Fo' Twenny here!🙋♀️
Back with another update on our Indica/Sativa hybrid cultivar, 🍈🍬 MELON GUM, bred by DR. UNDERGROUND!!! I am trying a new format for the weekly summary portion of my diary. Let me know what ya'll think!
👃 AROMA: She smells sweet but not very pungent at this point. It's still early in flower, so her terpenes are really just starting to be noticeable. I am excited to experience the evolution of her terpene profile as she progresses through flower. One of my favorite aspects of growing cannabis is how much these plants change from start to finish and how much variation is possible with this plant.
❇️ BUD STRUCTURE: Her buds are just starting to form. She seems to want to grow many smaller buds than growing larger dominant colas. She has bright white pistils shooting out from small clusters of calyxes. It's still early, and anything can happen. As always, I am going to stay optimistic about this girl. Sometimes the little ones pack the biggest punch!
🎨 Color: She is a nice healthy deep shade of green that looks like will turn purple or red later when she begins to fade.
🌿 STEM, STRETCH, & INTERNODES: She is the shortest cultivar in the tent. She has tight internodes, and really hasn't stretched much. To be continued...
✂️ TRAINING/PRUNING: I have continued selective defoliation as needed to avoid crowding herself and her neighbors. I remove no more than 25% of foliage at any one time, and usually closer 10-15%. I space out defoliation with a minimum of 3 days between sessions, in most instances. There will be exceptions to that, but it's a good rule of thumb I try to adhere to. She has been trained to have 6 main shoots and I am using LST techniques to gently bend her stems to evenly fill her space without overcrowding.
❄️TRICHOMES/RESIN PRODUCTION: She's starting to develop resin glands all over her buds. She is just getting started, so we will keep an eye on her to see how she develops.
🚿 WATER/FEED: I have continued with a light bidiurnal misting of White Dutch Clover cover crop . This, in conjunction with running lower temps (New AC), has seemed to have drastically increased feeding intervals. My plants are needing much less water than in previous runs. I typically give the whole SOG one feed per week with light watering of select individual cultivars as needed between feeds. I try my best to "read" my garden. The amount of water between feeds depends on how soon the next feed will be. I feed the garden as a whole and this run I have been generally spacing feeds out about 4-6 days when the the first plant shows beginning signs of wilt (slight droop of lower fan leaves).
📝 OBSERVATION/NOTES: She doesnt appear to have any signs of stress, deficiency, or toxicity. While small, she looks very happy and healthy!
Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome.
Now, for the weekly break down!

🚿 FEED DAY 🚿
The cultivar received approximately 1 gallon of solution. I mixed 17 gallons of solution for 17 plants. The solution is applied via wand sprayer powered by a submersible pump attached to a garden hose. Nutrients and additives are added to the reservoir in the order listed below and thoroughly mixed using a large plastic stir spoon. The reservoir is oxygenated by four 4 inch air stones.

@@JP148, I haven't had that problem myself, but I have read moisture kills pollen viability. Maybe just spray things down well. I would have to research this one and hate to steer you wrong.
@@JP148, Interesting. Are they fully formed seeds? I have heard of some strains being prone to growing ovules which are often mistaken for undeveloped seeds. I don't know a lot on the subject, but your situation sounds similar to that of a friend who told me about ovules in a strain I was thinking of running.
@FoTwenny,hey👋 I was mentioning those thick leafs as a cabbage😜 which is good in my eyes ! Yes , I look for rapid growth ,, strong stems , good structure ,,, short internodes💪 but we never know what the final product will turn out to be 💚
@NatureBoyNeo, Cabbage is good? Maybe a dumb question, but was wondering. What do you look for when they're young that gives indication of final product? I think rapid growth and short internodal growth is good in general, but was curious if there are other indicators to look out for? Thanks for stopping by!
This is the best strain I have ever tasted ..
I first tried it at Barca in 2015 and it's really amazing as terpenes ..
Together with Mr. Nice's Mango Haze, this is the one I like the most as a flavor.
In 3 days my friends and I bought 50g of this one alone 😎👌👌
I just bought some seeds too, next year I will grow them ..
Hope you can find the pheno I tried ..
You will see 😉
Have fun 🌱
@FoTwenny,
You will have a lot of fun and you will never forget it👌
The flowers will have a light green color with slight purple / bluish shades.
It's a Sativa body high , but it won't take your head to another planet 🚀
The taste is pure 🔥
Will you let me know 😉
Happy Cultivation 🌱
@Belverde, Thanks for stopping by! I have never tried this one, but it looks amazing and your description makes it
sound that much more enticing! Hopefully I find a keeper! Cheers and happy growing!
@@pepitogrillo, Looking forward to it myself. I have been interested in this strain a while now. The seeds weed very pale a d hopefully they germinate appropriately.
