Just cruising this week. Started off with LST on Candy Kush on Day 24. The upper fan leaves pulled up after topping at the end of last week, so I tied them down to allow more light to the topped node. This has been a very bushy and dense plant so far. Because of this, it has been difficult to get wires in to tie down the new branches, so I continually tucked the upper leaves to keep the lowest growth coming up. This worked out very well for me. Aside from tying down the two fan leaves, I got the canopy almost level in four days with tucking alone. The top node was finally tied down today. I found a possible branch buried under the canopy, so I threw one of the patches provided by my tent manufaturer under the canopy at an angle to reflect some light on that branch and see if I can get it to grow out from under there. Speedy Chile has a lot more space on the inside. I waited a bit longer to start LST on it, but I was finally able to tie down 6 branches to get them growing out into a star shape. It's growing very steadily with a nice amount of room between nodes on both the stem and the branches. Both of the plants are starting to build their knuckles as well to keep gaining strength. I'm feeling very good about the grow so far. Just going to keep them growing until they get to be 20cm or they go well beyond the 7L pots, then flip. Should be in a week or a week and a half.

2 plants in 0.5L pots in BioBizz AllMix. Using tap water. Both have twisted/incomplete new growth with strange texture and discoloration on some lower leaves. Suspicion: 1. Very soft water-> CalMag deficiency. 2. Low humidity ~25-35%. 3 Need to pot up (planned to do it this week)

These plants have been topped/LSTd. They're 5 weeks old in their final 7L pots. I'm thinking they're about ready to flip in the coming week, but I'm open to opinions on if I should wait more. Also, defoliation before flower: Skip it? Do it? If yes, then how much and where from?

Hey there Tiny Couch, you're absolutely right that they're ready to be flipped, that much you can tell by the new growth happening . Still though with a topping which is a HST , i would say try to aim for an average veg of 7 to 8 weeks. Topping can really reduce your yield, that's what folks dont realise. 5 weeks is very short for veg, but because of watching folks do it online it got kind of normalised lol The difference in yield for a short veg of up to 5 weeks and an average veg of up to 7 weeks is really quite huge, and in my personal opinion it's totally worth it if you have few plants. Go for 8 weeks even, that's not even a long veg, not really. Hope this helps ! πŸš€

@CRiSPrGrow, thanks for your advice! πŸ‘Š They were topped two weeks ago and have had consistent growth and LST since then, so I was thinking they would have recovered by now...? I'll admit that I am a bit impatient to move on to the next stage, but more than that, I was worried about letting them veg too long to where they end up outgrowing their small pots during the stretch. I'm not looking for a massive yield. An ounce off each plant will be plenty for my consumption, but the more, the better of course. Is the potential of outgrowing the pots something I should be worried about if I let them go another 2 weeks in veg?

Change humidity to 55/65% and temperature between 23-26 ΒΊC it's really important in the vegetative stage.

@Tosca, Thanks for the tips! I've gotten better control of the humidity this week. I don't want to buy a humidifier, so I just spray water into the tent a 4 or 5 times a day to give them a good dose of humidity. Even then, with the bigger pots now, the humidity is staying a higher than before. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about the temps. I don't have A/C and I live in a pretty hot place, but temps have been going down this week, so they'll get some cooler air soon. Maybe they're not growing as fast as they could, but they're still making progress!
