my little girl just popped. turned the lights on and will be starting low concentrates of nutes and recharge microbial within 7-10 days.
Nutes:
Cal/mag
Fox Farm line: Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom
Medium: Mother Earth brand coco coir w/ perlite.
Going to top this auto after around 3-4 nodes appear as well as mainline as an experiment depending on plant health and overall stress in the beginning. will update in future weeks.
not much growth for the first week started giving her a little water here and there when the substrate is dry. Fed her a couple micro doses of nutes as well. Will see how she reacts.
Grow room has been running a little hot with the abnormally warm weather outside. Should be fine once the days start to cool off in the future
10/9 still not much growth having an issue with calcium deficiency so added some cal-mag going to see what next week brings and hopefully get her to take a turn in the right direction
See ya next week
Sorry for the late updates its been quite the roller coaster getting this girl to adequate health, but we have adapted and overcome.
She's close to week two of flower so we will keep trucking along and ill keep up on the weekly updates hence forth.
12/1
Alright everyone its a new week. Looking to be the 2nd/3rd week of flower she just got done stretching and she got a little sunburned so I moved the light up.
She's been doing well not much to report until bud development. Will update if anything changes
Update: switched over to high frequency fertigation to try it out and got sick of hand watering my coco 3 times a day so I decided to make a little reservoir and put a pump on a timer. So no more having to be around to water this girl.
Hey everyone! Week 3 of flower and she's doing just fine. I ran out of head room for the girls so ended up supercropping some colas to match the general height of the rest of the canopy which she seems to be adjusting just fine to also starting to notice some trichomes on some of the leaves.
Going to implement beastie bloomz for a couple of weeks starting Friday and see where she ends up. Just a heads up since I modified my set up with a reservoir I will be hand watering the beastie bloomz, cha ching, and recharge. Otherwise I'm almost positive she would get burnt out by the high concentration of powder nutes. (being watered 5 times a day)
If anyone reads this and also practices high frequency fertigation let me know your technique and/or problems you have ran into along the way.
Week 4 of flower today.
im running into some sort of deficiency whether that be calmag, phosphorus, or nute burn either way i dialed back the nutes to a quarter and been checking runoff ppm compared to inflow to see if she's locking out. Will do some trial and error to attempt to correct the problem in the up coming weeks
Week 5 of flower and she's moving along. Slight calcium deficiency so adjusted my ph and we will see how she reacts. Also introduced Cha-Ching this week so we will see what happens in the upcoming weeks
Week 6 flower
Buds are coming along nicely, decided to stop the cha ching until last week before flush after doing some research. Also stopped the grow big this week to focus on a higher concentrate of tiger bloom. Will update if anything changes this week
Week 7 of flower only thing I have to report is the buds are starting to fatten up causing them to fall over so I staked and tied some of the bigger ones off
Week 8 of flower,
Trichs are still a bit transparent (for my liking) starting this week, but going to keep an eye on them throughout the week. May end up starting the flush process early of next week.
Ended up with some very well developed colas and also some very undefined larf on the lower ends. I assume it's because I bushed her out so long so ill try to keep her well defoliated and less bushy next go around.
All in all a happy strain and a nice outcome.
The grow started off pretty slow due to user error, but in the end through trials and trepidations we overcame and ended up with a pretty decent harvest. I personally can only get better and will continue to use what iv learned and documented in my upcoming grows.
Dried in about 9 days at 47-55% RH and 63-67° F.
Edit. Didnt weigh it wet so after getting a little over five ounces dry I'm just using a 3:1 ratio to figure in the wet weight. Granted that doesn't account for all the popcorn buds, fan leaves, and stems.
All the left over unmatured buds and larf will be turned into edibles and salves.
Happy growing!!!
@Rumham, yes in coco the plant needs feeding from day 1. Precharge next time with Calmag and 1/5 stregth nutes. That should see you through the first 7-10 days until pot dries enough to water and feed again. Up to 1/4 strength here and see how she goes from there upping to 1/3 and 1/2 strength as needed. You may never need to go higher than this as nutes, unless specifically designed for autos, are designed with photos in mind with typically a longer and hungrier veg. Any help just shout pal 👊
@@removed_26170,
Didn't precharge with any nutes only ph water and cal/mag
She's looking better after I started giving her 1/2 strength nutes with watering so I would agree that she was a bit hungry.
Do you always precharge your coco with nutes? Never tried.
This is my second grow ever in coco so feedback and tips are always appreciated.
