So this is one of six journals I'm keeping simultaneously as I decide which breeder to give my auto business to in the future. Call it an experiment. After soaking in RO water for 12 hours under heating pad it went into paper towel in humidity dome. Popped out of soil a day after planting and now its time to see whose genetics will take the 'cake'.
Well I can say that while this strain doesn't seem to be taking off in height it is by far the most prolific of the side branchers in this bunch as it has 4 nodes and leaf development at 3 of them. All of the FB strains are showing signs of horizontal potential while the other strains are a bit behind on their branching in prep for LST.
What can I say about this little lady other than predict that this thing is gonna be sphere. Prolific side branching led to some slight LST early on even though she's not that tall. Really just bent the main stem to break the apical dominance for now and a little strategic leaf tucking and she's on her way. Only concern is that she and Amnesia look a little droopy. Maybe they need less water or maybe its just the structure of the plants. They both have the roundness displayed by one of my Carmelicious phenos so we shall see...
There is really not much to say about this one... just look at the pics. This girl is my prediction to take the "cake" in this contest. Four weeks in and still vegging hard. This thing is a bush but also requires vertical control. Next run I'm gonna let this and the Sherbet grow out in fabric pots under my newest light that came yesterday. She is just a beast. Had to buy sprayer wand just to water lol. No deficiencies and vigorous growth so far but we shall see...
This week showed some explosive growth for all the strains I'm running. This baby showed pistils and immediately started bulking on every branch. There are gonna be a ton of bud sites on this beast. Defoliated slightly just some huge fan leaves over prime formation spots. Can't wait to see her after her stretch next week. Stay tuned.... added some p&k this week as all the plants were showing reddish stems but they're all happy now. Flowering is upon us...
Check out Day 32 random sprout coming from 2nd node.??
There is something I just love about this plant but cannot put my finger on it. It grows sooo full and busy with a ton of budsites to stack on. Needs a little defoliation even after cleaning out the lower tier. Flowering is about to really start and she should be massive after the stretch is done. May have killed her stretch early with a high ppm feed which was my fault completely as I misdiagnosed and was in too big of a hurry to pH my water so if she's a little short that's okay since she has tertiary growth everywhere so literally this whole plant could be nothing but bud on every branch. Started another run of FastBuds this week so look for new journals soon as I make the switch from soil and liquid nutrients to water only coco with dry amendments. Stay tuned....
Finally my last auto update for the week. The fatsbuds are done with the stretch and preflowers are all over the place. The new canopy is pretty darn uniform now too. Pat on the back for good training as my lights are maxed vertically and the tops are the perfect distance away for flower. Feedings are back on track as well as pH and if you haven't seen in another diary yet I got an air pump to aerate my solutions and stabilize pH. No deficiencies in this plant at all and more bud sites than any other plant so high hopes. Started aggressive defoliation for light penetration as the stems are too hard for additional LST. She is just loving life right now however she is setting up very slowly so I feel like she'll be a slow finisher with long thin more sativa colas but we shall see...
So this plant was doing sooooo well and I saw the potential for a qp at harvest but my cat got locked in my room overnight and climbed all in this girl snapping the main stalk and just destroying the plant that just really got woody setting up for a huge yield. Luckily I got two more started now with my latest run so yeah. Anyhow I kept as much of her alive as possible and I have probably 6 viable colas left but we shall see....
My cat is never allowed to bask in the grow area ever again. She killed a part of me with her antics and I feel like I'm getting over a death in the family. Really wish she would've killed that God awful amnesia plant that just will not do anything but thats not my luck...
Not a total loss though as I'll use this plant for butter.
Can't believe she's still kicking. I thought she'd be shriveled up and died by now but as far as I can tell I have about 7 good branches left with viable colas. She's finally done healing herself and getting back to making bud. She's gonna finish much later than anticipated now but the fact that there will be a harvest on this diary at all is amazing. Solid hardy genetics here...
Well the FastBuds decided that its definitely autumn for them as they have all gone to full fledged fall fade. Its funny how the pic shows the entire grow area and its spring on the left, summer in the middle, and fall on the right. A glorious sight to behold. Also not only did we bring the plant back to life but now its become a new yield experiment. I previously amended the soil to keep her alive after her trauma but now I'm adding liquid nutes for mass building now that she is healed. The combo seems to be working well as long as my entire solution stays in the right pH range. So far we've built some new flowers and got some purps coming through but we shall see...
Fortunately the combination of liquid and organics at the right pH has really worked wonders and I predict an ounce still. The trauma added a couple of weeks to her flowering phase but the buds have formed and the frost is thickening up. What a plant. Every seed of this that I've planted has been a performer. Just wish she's stayed whole til harvest. She had sooo much potential. But I'm lucky to get a harvest at all so thank you FastBuds for bomb genetics...
Apparently the massive trauma suffered early on in flowering just pushed her internal clock back a couple of weeks. I expected her to finish sad and small due to her naturally regulated cycle but she basically just started flowering over again and make some very decent nugs in addition to a few new ones that vegged out in the middle of bloom. Just a very resilient strain here. Still plenty of white pistils and room to fill in on the branches so this yield could go either way depending on the next couple of weeks. We shall see...
Looks like we have our second finisher of this run. I saw those amber trichs shining today finally so at some point this week I think she'll get the chop. There are some ugly foxtails that she added after her trauma but the colas that were already there are nice and chunky and smell like sweet cream cheese frosting. Can't believe I'm actually gonna harvest this one but this strain is beast...
All I really have for this week is basically she's got enough amber now so say goodbye to the WCC. I'll be putting her in the dark tomorrow and chopping on Sunday. I've been lazy but I'll be taking some pics and putting out the harvest results on the Purple Lemonade which was a pleasant surprise as I didn't think she was that heavy but yeah... later...
This is absolutely one of my favorites so far. Slightly indica leaning she is very potent but still suitable for all day use. Great balance on the buzz with lasting effects.
She should've had triple the yield but the accidental destruction made this smaller one more special. Super dense nugs almost white with frost. This strain is unstoppable as far as production with side branches on every side branch. Highly recommend commercially but with small batch tlc this is a potent, sweet smelling dessert strain with a sweet frosting taste. Fastbuds killed it on this one.
@Scarecrow, I understand you, I'm in the same situation ahahahah
6 am: a look at the plants, all right, the trichomes are still a little bit transparent, let's wait ...
6.24 am : the trichomes are still a little transparent, let's wait again .....
6.44 am: the trichomes show no sign of changing color, let's wait ...
....
(repeat every 20/30 minutes for 15 days again 😂😂😂😂😂😂)
@DreamIT, thanks buddy I'm excited to actually smoke these things soon. I hate the last bit of flowering when it's technically the "ripening" phase and all you can do is stare at trichomes 1000 times a day....
@Stoner_INDICA, I just wish she hadn't been mauled in the first weeks of flowering by a cat with a vengeance. I swear I got a QP off the fastbuds purple lemonade plant i just harvested but this one had double that potential. It'll always be a big what if for me since the two I have in coco right now are not looking anything like that one and will have nowhere near the yield I could've gotten from her. Would've been my best auto ever but regardless I'm happy to even get her to harvest. I can say this strain is a tough mf for sure...
