Just did LST on the big girl, planted her a few days before the others. She is at 21 days from when I first germinated vs the others at 16. 2 others are looking healthy but I think I had a weak seed so one is looking meh, lot of leaf damage but some good new growth. They got new water today so I gave em a boost of cal mag, hoping they take well to it. (1st pic is from yesterday, 2nd is today with LST)

So many new nodes coming in after LST and topping, starting to become a sea of leaves. I am experimenting on all 4 with different training types in order to see which gives me the best result in my set up. The largest I gave LST and topped the 6th node, gave one only LST, one with only topping, and one with no training. Getting pretty hyped on what’s still to come

I am running the Viparspectra 450w LED as my light for 4 autos in a 2x4 space. I am worried this isn’t enough, especially because of its lower levels of red. Should I upgrade to something stronger like a Mars hydro 600 or 1000 before flowering start?Or if not Mars something else?

Wattage or power consumption is a bullshit figure that has no relevance to anything other the a lamps efficency. What you need to chexk is the light is giving full spectrum that you require and that has enough usable PPF to cover your grow area. The watts are only how much power is consumed to acheive this. Dont get suckered into the Watts game It matters not as long as the panel produces the required photons. The wattage just shows us the photon efficency. I am a live sound engineer and its the same in my trade. Some fool comes along and says "awww mate that sub is so loud how many watts is that?" well that does not matter what matters is the sound pressure being created by the given power consumption. This is called efficeny and wattage is a reflection of that.

New Mars hydro ts600 came in the mail yesterday, hyped on the upgrade I now have this light as my central one and am running my previous viparspectra 450w (120 actual draw) at an angle off to the side. Will eventually switch the vipars veg light off and only use its bloom lighting setting for red spectrum boost during flowering, don’t want these girls getting too much blue and growing too tall. Starting to realize I might’ve bit off more than I can chew with 4 plants in a 2x4x5 but I am not too worried about it, it will be a wild ride and hopefully I can manage them enough to prevent them getting too crammed for their space, at least I have proper lighting to support all 4 now (I believe ). Continued LST this week, really happy with how it’s going canopy is looking nice and even, with many node sites on each plant. Some minor damage to lower fan leaves when switching around my light setup cuz I’m a bit of a klutz lol but ended up pruning a good amount of them anyways. Couple pistil pre flowers coming in here and there, got excited so I threw in a bit of flowering nutes for this weeks water change, big bud and b-52. Seen a lot of varied opinions on advanced nutrients, but I’m sure it will do me well for my first grow. Probably will stay with them for a bit if I get a nice yield until I find a tried and true cheaper alternative, im sure it’s only a few google searches away but I’m lazy ;) if anyone feels up to it drop something that you guys prefer in a comment and I’ll look into it. Overall very anxious and excited, slightly sad that after doing so much research to prepare for my first grow I chose to buy from i49 instead of RQS or Mephisto although I shouldn’t complain, the bruccies are looking great!

Is it possible for me to take down the walls of my tent and leave the frame with the lights on it to let the plants get more space? I don’t have a way to ventilate the entire closet from an external source, just been ventilating the tent w/ an exhaust fan and carbon filter

Well ya of course. But you are defeating it's purpose. Any bugs and pest that follow you inside any given day will have an easier path to your plants... However winter is coming. But that's really your only downside. Tent ecosystem is easier to maintain than the house

I was ahead of schedule with my weekly updates so I am changing this week to the true week 6 update, photos are about a week and a half from last week update. Starting flowering nutes tomorrow after flushing all day today, seeing a lot of new pistil growth. I was hoping to have these harvested around week 10 but I’m thinking it’s gonna be more like 12 or 13 now which is fine, just taking it day by day. This week has been a lot of stretching, with the tallest one coming out at around 17 inches. I was gone on a trip for 5 days and left them to their own devices, and returned to see great growth and no signs of any issues. Humidity was at 90% in the tent when I got back which scared me but I saw no signs of stress, these girls really are some hulks. Aired it out and it’s back to a reasonable level now. I’ve been expressing my worries in previous updates about the plants growing too big for their grow area, however nothing is getting out of control and I don’t see them growing more than 12 more inches, which at max could be pushing a little close to the light but should be ok. Starting to get hints of some nice pungent smells which are different than the previous earthy ones, getting pretty excited.

First week of flower growth for the older ones, younger ones are still sort of finishing stretch (4 day difference). Plants got much taller than I expected, especially the one which started out extremely weak with very messed up leaves, which is around 2 feet at the moment. I remember weeks 3 and 4 I was butthurt like “why are they so small :,(“ LOL, if only I knew. Now I’m having to actually move my light up! Past few weeks most of the new growth has been growing in with yellow tips, still haven’t figured out why. Don’t think it’s nute burn cause I’m barely pushing 800, could definitely be wrong though I’m too new to this. Otherwise they’re completely healthy, consistently standing right back up immediately after I train them whether it’s LST or even HST. Humidity is beginning to become a problem, which I was not prepared for. The paint in the closet is beginning to crack and bubble off so I will most likely have to go in there scrape it and re prime and paint it myself eventually. Ordered a small dehumidifier on Amazon because I’m on a budget, that was a mistake. It pulls about a quarter pint out per day -_- wasn’t trying to spend 150+ on a new one so I found a 25 pint on Craigslist for 40 bucks, it should work, picking it up later today. Edit: dehumidifier is up and running and works perfectly, rh now at a steady 50. Leaving on a trip for a month in December so I will unfortunately be forced to harvest at 12 weeks, really hoping they will be close to done by then. But yeah, still having fun tending to these awesome organisms!

I’m roughly in between weeks 2-3 of flowering and was wondering if I can still high stress train at this point? Some of the tallest branches are within 6 inches of the light and I expect them to gain a few more inches even. Light is also at max height.

Hey, Personally, I wouldnt stress the plant that much at this stage. Maybe try some stem pinching. I believe the stress would significantly affect bud production. Hope this helps,

Sad news this week, one of the plants had to be chopped and thrown away :( EXPLANATION: these monsters highest branches are pushing over 3 feet now, so much taller than I ever anticipated! I don’t have a scrog net and I didn’t want to HST, so I decided to chop the weakest one of them in order to free up space and give the others some minor lst in order to lower bud sites away from the lights. I think this will ultimately lead to a healthier, higher quality yield, which I would much prefer to higher quantity. Buds are beginning to gain size, so exciting to watch every day. Gave them their last dose of big bud today, will switch to overdrive once they’ve gained a bit more weight. I now have both my lights on for max watts and canopy coverage, Mars hydro ts600 and viparspectra 450.

It’s frosty time these bruccies are putting out trichomes like nobodies business!! This update is coming in at around halfway through week 9 as I’ve been very busy recently and haven’t been able to give the girls quite as much attention but boy oh boy are they doing well. Stopped pruning and trimming of any sort, just letting them run their course now. Switched big bud for overdrive, I read online that overdrive is more beneficial for calyx production so hoping they continue to bulk up a bit before I harvest. Was under the impression that autos would be finished by week 11, leaving for a trip around that time so I will be forced to harvest the girls then, regardless of how mature they are. Ideally they would go for another 4 weeks but it is what it is, my first grow and it’s been an enormous learning experience. Just bought some 3 bears OG from the Mephisto restock, super hyped on these. Also hoping to grab a few of their new illuminautos as well when they drop tomorrow. Gotta set my alarm for that!! Really hyped on this upcoming run, learned so much from these bruccies that I’m ready to put into the Mephistos.

This update is coming only a few days after my previous one as I delayed that one by a few days, now we are back on schedule. The girls are continuing to pump out resin, and the buds are slowly gaining more weight however they’re still pretty small. I have faith they will bulk some more before I harvest next week, crossing my fingers. Harvesting next Wednesday, really hoping to see the pistils get closer to 50% amber at least. Since I am having to harvest early, I have made the executive decision to not flush and continue with nutes all the way till chop. I would prefer them to continue to bulk as much as possible and I don’t see much of a reason to flush a plant that isn’t fully mature yet. I also read that people don’t actually notice very much of a difference from flushed and not flushed weed, so take that flushers! Jk, I would actually flush if I had the time :,(

Made a long drive to transport the 2 girls to my friends place... they made it though!! these plants are actually beasts. I tipped them on their sides with a small amount of water in the reservoir with trash bags over them to prevent leaking inside of my car. I’m sure this was pretty stressful on them and they will probably be stunted for a few days but they are moved into their new home and seem to still be alive. My friend has a stronger Mars hydro than I do (150w vs 100w) and also more room in the grow space than I had in the tent, so the girls will hopefully do well once they recover. These 2 plants are taking a lot longer to mature than the other one that I already harvested, but I think this correlates to them also having significantly larger and denser buds. These 2 will probably get harvested in around 2-2 1/2 weeks, hoping to fit a week or so flush into that but it’ll depend on how they’re looking.

I underestimated how tall my autos would get in my tent and some colas ended up getting less than an inch from my lights. Most colas were fine but 2 seem to have mutated in some way. Calyxs grew way more leaves and pistils per each individual calyx. Is this a major problem?

When you see the top leaves looking like a canoe this means either to much light or to hot. Usually to hot, from being to close to the light. Cheers

I have decided to chop the most mature plant of the three, even though it could go longer I was originally going to be chopping all three because I am about to leave on a trip, however a friend of mine is able to take care of the other 2 less mature ones. I was planning on just saying fuck it and chop them all but the less mature ones have still mostly white pistils and I can’t bring myself to do it, they started putting more weight on these past few days and I know if they just could get a few more weeks they will really be amazing with a lot of weight. Interesting that one matured faster than the other 2, although I think this corresponds with the size of the buds as the mature plant’s buds are not particularly big, hoping to pull 25 grams at least from it. The less mature plants are beginning to bulk and as I stated earlier, I just can’t chop them and ruin all their potential yet. The calyxs are swelling a lot and looking super tasty. Will continue to add updates for the other 2 plants

Plants are continuing to ripen, I’m going to start flushing the older one tomorrow. The younger one still has a lot of white pistils, especially on some specific colas, so I’m gonna give it at least one more round of nutes before I start flushing her. These gals have been chugging their water recently, I’m changing the res like twice a week at this point :0 Finally got the first plant that I harvested into cure, pulled a whopping 50 grams from it so I am ecstatic about that, literally double what I was hoping for. These 2 are looking waaaaay larger and fatter so I can only imagine how much they will yield each... I could be looking at a 1/3 lb harvest!!!!

The bruccies are continuing to mature, they are probably going to get harvested sometime in the next week. One has been on flush mode for about 5 days now, going to give it another 3 or 4. About to start the other one on flush once most pistils are orange. They are both chugging about 6 gallons each per week.

So happy with the result of these gals. Harvested at around 15-20% amber on the tops of the colas, will be pressing the lower buds and trim with less amber into rosin :) They really grew into massive hulking monsters with colas the size of my forearm :0 I am so impressed and proud to call this my first ever grow. I learned so much and I am so hyped to put all this knowledge into the next grow.
