I had planned on just growing 1 of these. I planted the first one in my rapid rooter humidity dome I always use waited a week and nothing.
Repeated that process and still nothing. So last weekend I planted the remaining 3 seeds I had hoping 1 would come up, thinking I got a bad batch. Can you guess what happens next? All 3 sprouted in just a few days 🤔 So I guess I'm growing 3.
I read a little about the strain and the breeder only expects 84 gram a plant. Not the inflated breeder numbers I've come to expect. I figure 2 gallon pots should work then. The smaller pots will conserve dirt, nutrients and water for me too. I've bested 84 grams from a 2 gallon auto before. Let's try and do it again! It's fucking grow time!
After a week, I'll be generous and say they look very bad. I think they are all struggling with the loaded soil. Let's see how bad it stunts them.
They haven't grown enough leaves to top yet. I might just lst these. They are apparently very sensitive. The twistyness may just keep them in veg for an extra week or two. I sprouted them a friend because 3, 2 gallon autos won't fill out the 3x3 when my Black Jack auto is done. Under the dome is a 00 seeds Do-si-dos cookies auto. Gonna do a separate diary for that.
Anyway I've had some genetics my first year of growing start this bad, but end up monsters. So I'll just be patient with these and hope for the best. Good luck growers!
You may notice I only have two plants left. AH #1 and AH #2. AH #3 was the victim of a horrific topping accident and wasn't recovering fast enough. The cookies I sprouted looked real bad too. So I ripped them both out. Roots were chunky and bright white, so I'm sure they would have been fine 🤷♂️
I'm not sure what gets into me this time of year, but something deep inside tells me to just go balls out and grow as many plants as I can. These plants are going to stay in this tent and I'm going to sprout four more seeds for the 3x3. I'm ditching the distilled water and I'm gonna feed with filtered tap water. I'm going to need the distilled water for humidifiers.
I topped the two remaining Amnesia Hazes a few days ago and they both started 4 main branches. Which is good. They don't look great at all. Probably about a week and a half behind.
Just feeding plain water until they snap out of it. See ya!
They are looking a lot healthier! I believe my temps weren't stable enough in this tent and that will definitely cause runts like this. I have it sorted now. I plugged my exhaust fan into the cooling plug on my temp controller. Hung the probe way down by the plants. Now it doesn't constantly run and the dirt in the pots is enough to keep humidity in a good place. When they get taller I'll raise the probe and the fan will run more often. Probably constantly when the lights are on. Fed them both some Recharge yesterday. Seems like everyone uses it and I want to transition to organic anyway. So I snagged some. Also got going with LST.
They look pretty good considering my abuse in the early weeks. It looks like they are starting to flower. So that's not great. I hope they can gain some size. I'm on the fungus gnat struggle bus as well. The keen observers may notice my dirt is caked in demetrius earth to try killing the larvae. It seemed better when I went in there today.
I am a few days late sorry about that. My heart was smashed to a million pieces this week. My seed order was destroyed by Customs 😫😫😫 It will be replaced for free, but it's just so sad. Overseas shipping takes forever too. IT IS LEGAL TO GROW IN MY STATE!!! 🤬🤬🤬
I have a local solution for the short term, but that throws off my whole season. Hope everyone else has a better week. Will try to get my updates back to Fridays.
Still waiting for some size from these gals. Something tells me it's not really gonna happen.
I hope they still grow big chunky nugs. I made a few upgrades to this setup over the week. Some small wire racks for the pots to sit on instead of sitting right in the drain tray. And some new lights! 100 watt viparspectra hlg knockoffs. Dimmer knobs and everything. Nice little lights so far. And I added a weaker constant exhaust. While the more powerful fan remains on standby in case the tent gets too hot. This cuts my lighting wattage in half for this tent. I think 400 watts was too many for this little 2x4 shorty tent. So at least my next grow in here should go well. Happy grows folks!
Did a little more LST they are filling in and stretching, but only a little. I switched to organic nutrients mid grow. I'm sick of the "ph perfect technology" in my Advanced Nutrients. It brings ph way down. Maybe ideal for hydro, but not soil. I was planning on an organic transition anyway. I've got Roots Organic Uprising base dry amendments, Nirvana bloom booster and 5 different kinds of microbe products.
People say organic tastes better so I'm excited to give it a go. Thanks for peeping my runts.
These girls have stopped growing up now I think.
#2 is definitely moving along quicker than #1. Definitely two different phenos. I imagine these won't be done until week 14 or 15. But you never know.
I have had plants like this, but I never let them finish.
Customs destroying my seed order has left me no choice. I can only grow the seeds I have.
No dry amendments this week just various microbes and a feeding of Nirvana too. They look pretty happy most of the day and start drooping like 5 hours before dark. So I backed the light off a couple inches. I also think the AN ph perfect stuff is still wreaking havoc on my soil ph, but it is shifting back up above 6. Have been phing my water to 6.7 or 6.8 so it will drift back up a little further.
No distinct smell yet, just skunkiness. No trichomes either. Wish me luck, I'll update in a week. Happy growing.
These Amnesia Hazes are looking pretty good now. #1 even had a few more tops shoot up to the top of the canopy.
I mean really go look at that plant in the first few weeks. Now it's the healthiest looking plant. Pot plants always amaze me with their resilience. #2 is still about a week ahead and the nugs are really chunking up. I've been feeding a rotating door of microbes mostly, and 2 doses of Nirvana over the week. They seem happy and the soil ph is getting back to where it should be. Thanks for checking in.
Not a very dramatic change over this week. They are getting more trichomes for sure and smelling very nice.
The big change this week happened in the soil I watered a couple times this week with 7.2 water and now my runoff water is right at 6.5. So I think I finally got all those nasty residual ph perfect nutrients out of my medium. The leaf color is definitely getting a bit richer ever since.
Other than that. I top dressed in some terp tea and foundation and bloom and watered with microbes. As well as some Nirvana mid week.
I beseech the plant gods, so that they may swell up my flowers. Peace.
AH #1 started cannibalizing it self in dramatic fashion. I have 2 theories. 1 being root rot, because I didn't realize how much slower they drink, when you grow organically. 2 would be that the fungus gnat larvae are out of control and the Roots are stressed by this. Maybe both! I started watering every other day instead of every day and a half. I also purchased some organic pesticide that you mix with the feed and it supposedly kills the larvae.
AH #2 is a way more pest resistant pheno. Showing no sign of root trouble in the leaves. She is actually fading to a nice purple color on the leaves around top.
#1 actually smells way stronger than #2. Both smell amazing though. Really sweet chronic smell. In fact I've never had the plants I grow smell that close to the professional stuff does. So even though the buds are all dinky, I'm not gonna give up on trying to grow organically this season. I'm just going to try getting better at it.
I probably should have started phing organically right away, but I have been using AN ph down. Which if you haven't used it, is crazy strong. I picked up Zen Products O'calm down. Made in Michigan.
Not crazy strong but it contains chelating agents so adding a lot isn't a bad thing.
I will let these flower for 2 more weeks at least. Merry Christmas growers!
I cut these down just today. I think they are ready. Not much change in them over the week. Both smell really sweet. #2 managed some nice purple fall colors. Stripped all the fan leaves and hung them whole in the tent where they were grown. Left the fans running, but unplugged the lights and heater.
They are kinda dinky, but live and learn... and spend. I'll post weights in a week or so.
I won't trash the genetics, but I wouldn't recommend this unless you're more experienced than me. Buds smell amazing. Sweet, creamy and a hint of pine. I messed this grow up early and stunted these. I only finished them because of a delay in my seed order a couple months ago.
Smallest yield I've ever managed.
I probably would go for another brand of Amnesia Haze before I would grow these again.
Love the smell of the flowers for sure. I would also love to figure out my recent issues with seedlings. Which this puny harvest is a direct result of. I'm glad it's over. Happy growing.
