Hi fellow growers,
a bit late to the party as the Dinafem Purple Orange CBD is already in the vegetative stage for the past two weeks but better late than never.
As you can see on the first picture, the grow room is 70 cm wide, 50 cm deep and 2m high. For the soil, I use BioBizz All-Mix and I'm really happy with it. I use the BioBizz nutrients too. All of it with tap water and I don't check the pH. I had actually bought a pH-meter but it was not reliable and to be honest, I'm not ready to buy an expensive one.
I'm gonna do a main-lining to this one, I already did one for a previous plant and was really happy with the result. I'm following the Nebula's Main-lining tutorial more specifically. I will leave the plant in the current 10L pot until before switching to flowering. Then I will transplant her in a 50L pot so she can build some nice roots and grow big (hopefully).
The light is currently a 55W COB LED at 4000K. When switching to flowering, I will add an additional 55W COB at 3500K. The light is actually at around 30cm from the top. I guess I could get even closer, i'm just a bit scared to burn her.
Currently watering her once a week, last one last friday with her first nutes. I'm basically following the BioBizz schedule. When she grows bigger and therefore drinks more, I would like to water her twice a week, giving half of what I would for a week.
I guess that's it for the general presentation.
So today was a big day as I started the main-lining training with a big cutting. It seems always scary this one, as it gives the feeling you are doing something really stupid. I waited until she had 6 nodes to start the cutting. I only keep the third internode and strip everything else. I will now gonna let the two new main branches grow up to 4-5 nodes and apply some LST to keep the branches flat. When we get there (4-5 nodes), it will be time for the next cutting.
That's it for this week. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
Take care everyone and see you next week!
@Frenchie, last two very important pence . Those actions in flower should be done in intervals offered by pioneers of defoliation.
Week 3 , when you take down leaves, plant gives all his power to restoring lost capacity, bud should be formed at this time already, so he gets part of that power, future fan leaves are straight under or even in it if its higher colas.
Week 5-6 , depending on how long you will go. Again, forces plants to take actions, just this time he gives all power straight to bud, trying to create next generations. Both waves are risky with weak genetics, could force to go hermie as last resort to finish plants purpose - create bigger buds with more seeds.
With RQS Cookies i had hermie part, its unfun at all.
@AsNoriu, thanks for the advices. I'll see how it looks during week 5 and 6 of flowering and see if further actions seem necessary. I'll have a look at the guys you mentioned too ๐
@Frenchie, wrote a comment and deleted it ;))
So. I liked your plant and you do similar actions to my grows, thats why i am here .
I do heavy lst on week 3 of veg, till week 5 i don't take more than one leave away(my lst forces me to cut one leave 90% of time), but on week 5 i clear them a lot, then 5 days before flower more leaves fall.
In flower again week 3 is heaviest damage ever : my target is what you did, and later on week 5-6 of flower i take down badly formed lower buds and defoliate them for last time.
Green Genes Garden , Miami Mango, Grand Master Level and Shwazzing was my main teachers , now i try to go further and adapt what they noticed in smaller range, where you pay attention to every plant personally, not mass actions.
@horsemouth, glad to hear that man, I was really surprised too. The first place, the guy definitely put some effort to it but the third... ๐ The jury was definitely high ๐
