Growing Dj Short Blueberry,
Butter cream gelato, and Cheese
Blueberry is in a 7gal smart pot
Butter cream and Cheese are in 5 gal smart pots.
Plants have been on 12/12 for 4 days already.
They have nearly filled the entire canopy already.
I added extra Bat guano to Butter cream gelato as it needs more nitrogen than the other two do.
It fades to lime green 3 times faster than Blueberry or Cheese which stay solid green almost always.
Blueberry was a mother plant that has grown to the point where it was becoming a bit unwieldy. It was planted as a seed in May.
Cheese has been Vegging since June 20
And Butter cream was vegged since Sept 10.
The plants have filled in the scrog net very nicely.
They are all showing pistils after being switched to 12/12 light for 8 days, so The flower cycle starts today.
Every space has a nice 2 inch top or two.
Buttercream Gelato is looking nice this run. I have grown it before and it needs quite a bit extra nitrogen to stay happy compared to Blueberry, or cheese.
I put two tablespoons of bat guano into its mix when potting and add two more tablespoons to the top soil layer the first week of flower.
This has worked very well and Buttercream Gelato is now a much nicer shade of green instead of pale lime. And it is growing much more like an Indica this round.
Blueberry is looking great as well it takes up the entire left side of the tent and is very perky,
The Cheese plant also looks great no issues so far, but it is a very hardy plant hard to mess up.
I trimmed the under brush up, cleaning up any small shoots that will not reach the screen.
Almost done tucking and screen coverage is much better than the last run.
Tops are beginning to form into buds.
The canopy has filled in nicely, I think most of the stretch is over.
There are 2 bud sites per 4 inch square sticking up past the scrog about 5 inches. there are 88 squares and all but 6 are filled in.
Buds are forming well, no issues at all.
*Update
Cleaned up under the canopy and got rid of anything more than 2 inches below the net.
Removed any canopy leaves that were covering or preventing light from reaching bud sites as best as possible.
Fed with Molasses, Silica, Fish Fert and Cal Mag along with base nutrients. Plants are sucking up the water nicely.
No issues at all so far The canopy cover is nice and I have many bud sites sitting 3 or more inches above the net after training.
Plants have filled back in nicely after defoliating last week. Sucking up water every other day now. Very happy healthy green canopy. Buttercream is starting to get a bit nitrogen pale I will top dress with guano this week.
Buttercream Gelato throwing Bananas again exactly 5 weeks into flower. This happened with the other one I grew as well.
I assume this must be a genetics issue and I have removed the strain from my garden entirely now.
Blueberry and Cheese Look very happy and healthy.
Buds are beginning to fatten and the room has a very nice fruity aroma.
No Issues this week.
The plants have a very nice berry aroma, Blueberry is fattening up nicely, and cheese smells incredible, although the buds seem to be a bit smaller than the last round.
I fed this week with Molasses once and full nutrients once as well.
No Issue with the plants this week but I noticed that my 1000w hps doesn't seem to be as bright as it should be. I am only getting 50k lux at 18 inches. Whereas before I got 100k lux at that height.
I checked the ballast and it is still drawing 1000w. I replaced the bulb but that also did not fix it so I am not sure what could be happening here.
I am hoping to upgrade to a sf-4000 soon.
The buds all look pretty good, a lot of big buds on the blueberry plant but the cheese plant is not nearly as dense as previous iterations of this strain.
This may be because of the light issues I seem to be having.
Plants are faded nicely and will be ready for harvest by the end of the week.
The smell coming off the cheese plant is incredible.
Both strains did well but maybe not as well as my last crop.
This strain grows nicely and is hardy but does not produce the terpene content or aroma profiles I am looking for I will likely discontinue this pheno of blueberry
