Another good week, as far as I can tell. Righty increased from 16 to 19 inches and Lefty surprised me and exploded from 14 to 23 inches. Righty was always the bigger of the plants until this week but that has changed considerably. Righty is still darker than lefty but not to the point where I'm worried about excess Nitrogen or anything. Both are still flowering and seem healthy to me. PPM going in is 550 and coming out it is 450, so they appear to be feeding. I did very light defoliation earlier this week removing only the older looking leaves and a couple that were blocking bud sites. I have no doubt there are many folks who would suggest my plants are way too bushy and need more but I don't have the stomach for it. The plants are seriously crowding this 27"x27" tent, even in 3 gallon pots. It may have been more appropriate just to have a single plant but I feel like with this autoflower etc I am likely to get more bud out of two plants than one even if I had gone with one plant + the extra space for it to branch out. If they grow much taller I am going to have trouble raising my light any higher and will have to move around the fans, etc. I'm hoping they focus more on bud growth than vertical growth this upcoming week. Is there some kind of defoliation I should be doing, and if yes what specifically do you recommend? Or should I just let it ride? Things are getting pretty tight in the tent... although I expect most growth will be vertical going forward.

Since the plants already started flowering then only do a light defoliation of small leaves at the bottom and small growth shoots so the growth will focus on the main buds. From there don't touch the leaves!! as they say Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the plant, leaves provide important nutrients for the flowers! (Tuck big fan leaves under bud sites to increase light exposure). Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)

Coming along nicely man 🌱 Don't take the breeders estimate for finish time to heart they always take a best case scenario and in the real world it's usually at least a few weeks longer ✌️

Are those cookies supposed to be that bushy? 👽
CheefDunnoNothin
CheefDunnoNothincommented4 years ago
@@dreambomber, I don't think they are supposed to be that bushy and should probably be defoliated to maximize yield but since it is my first time I did very, very little defoliation. Also because I have space issues I figured more leaves would maximize light absorption since the plants aren't able to go as wide as they would naturally. I have some more seeds and will probably do colorado cookies again (except just one plant instead of two) and will be a little more aggressive on the defoliation next time around.
