Hello world, I am pleased to be here thanks to AZ Prop 207 passing. I am a total noob and won't pretend I know what I'm doing, so any and all feedback will be much appreciated! I am happy to take criticism, as long as it is constructive. And if you don't have any feedback or criticism, I am still happy to hear from you. My goal here is to grow 2 plants for my first attempt. I intend to use 3 gallon grow bags with Mother Earth Coco/Perlite using the Mars Hydro 27"x27" tent and TS 600W LED light. I have a humidifier which is necessary here in AZ with our low humidity and also an AC Infinity T6 inline fan with a Vivosun charcoal filter. I attempted to germinate 3 seeds - 2 Dutch Passion Auto Colorado Cookies and 1 Northern Lights/Blueberry seed that came for free with them, just in case one of the Dutch Passion seeds failed to germinate. As can be seen in the picture, all 3 seeds germinated so I am only planting the two Auto Colorado Cookies seeds. Many people recommend the paper towel method and The Dutch passion website recommends using those circle makeup pads which I also have, so I did two of the seeds in the paper towel and one of them in the circle makeup pad. Both methods seemed to work for me. I'm not sure I prefer one above the other just yet but might be leaning toward the makeup pad method simply because it "looks" nicer to me. I planted the germinated seeds just below the surface and hope to start seeing some sprouts next week! "I hope you take the road less traveled... Grow Questions

CheefDunnoNothinstarted grow question 4 years ago
Is there some kind of defoliation I should be doing, and if yes what specifically do you recommend? Or should I just let it ride? Things are getting pretty tight in the tent... although I expect most growth will be vertical going forward.

Since the plants already started flowering then only do a light defoliation of small leaves at the bottom and small growth shoots so the growth will focus on the main buds. From there don't touch the leaves!! as they say Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the plant, leaves provide important nutrients for the flowers! (Tuck big fan leaves under bud sites to increase light exposure). Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)

Coming along nicely man 🌱 Don't take the breeders estimate for finish time to heart they always take a best case scenario and in the real world it's usually at least a few weeks longer ✌️

Are those cookies supposed to be that bushy? 👽
CheefDunnoNothin
CheefDunnoNothincommented4 years ago
@@dreambomber, I don't think they are supposed to be that bushy and should probably be defoliated to maximize yield but since it is my first time I did very, very little defoliation. Also because I have space issues I figured more leaves would maximize light absorption since the plants aren't able to go as wide as they would naturally. I have some more seeds and will probably do colorado cookies again (except just one plant instead of two) and will be a little more aggressive on the defoliation next time around.
