I germinated this Chemdawg #4 fem seed from Growers Choice Seeds on Nov 25, 2020. My main goal was to grow her out for clones. And she did her job very well. I ended up with close to 70 clones. And she came back bushier than ever. She also trained very well.
After taking enough cuttings to fill my tent on my next harvest and sending several out to some green thumbed friends using the clone shipper (Great product btw) I put her in to flower. Then I made one of three major mistakes during this grow. I put 6 clones in small 5” by 5” square pots in the tent boosted up on a cardboard box right next to her. It tricked her into Flowering along with the much much smaller clones. Cut my yield by a lot I’m sure. I have 12 very healthy very happy CD#4 clones ready to flower ASAP. They are all the same size and very uniform to each other.
Mistake #2: Using a cheap trash ph meter. I was off by at least a point on my ph causing nutrient lockout through out most of flower. Replaced it with a Bluelab meter. The plants recovered really quickly once corrected ph.
Mistake #3: I purchased a new led (ES300v3) from The Green Sunshine Company and received it in January 2021. This light is super powerful to only be pulling 330w from the wall. I always kept the light at least 16” from the plants. At full power they’re was a few days of light burn to the canopy. Next grow I will raise the light and dim it down a little. The Electric Sky 300 has blown me away. The tech in grow lighting has come so far since my last grow (2005-2006) using 1000w HPS and MH lights/heaters. I’ll add some more pics soon.
