Hi all. Here we are again with 3 FastBuds strains to put through their paces. I expect great things from these ladies and don't forsee them letting me down based on previous experience with their Auto genetics. They have been a forerunner in the field regards stability and yield results so I needed to get a few into this run ASAP. lol
So here we have the selection to try out . I am only running a single of each strain to get to try each one . I do love the variety of growing this way and I get to try lots of different flavours and growing ability of them in the process. I gave up trying to stick to a favourite to grow as each passing month seems to throw new phenos and flavours into our mix of choices . We are indeed a spoilt customer base now but the vast selections available are not easy to navigate and choose from anymore .!.lol
Having my best yield career wise from Fastbuds autos and dribbling my way through the results the months following , I had to get them in .
I am happy to say that within 2 days , they had all showed their heads. 100% Germination.
A great start , let's see how they progress a few days before going into their final pots. .Be well growmies
UPDATE ##UPDATE###UPDATE##UODATE
I have now put them all into their final 30L pots as they were stretching quite a bit overnight. They have a dome to keep the humidity up while they settle in , which I will remove in a few days time. All good so far. be well.
Hi all . Here we go again on some Fast buds auto genetics from one of the markets go to for autos. Having been a long term grower of fast buds and some of their tester fast flowering photoperiods too , I expect great things .lol
My choices of strain came from hours of deliberating and looking through their extensive auto range. so tempting to hit the "classic" series and go with what I know but being ever curious , that was soon surpassed by some new kids on the block and here we have it.
Their rise to the surface was only 3 days total for husks off and opening coty leaves. Now a week on from seeding , they are ready to get busy. They all look as they should and are at present in subdued lighting to get them rooted first. I will be moving them under their own light soon but want them to get comfortable in the soil mix first too.
So day 1 is under way and we are in for some beautiful buds no doubt. Thank you Heather @Fastbuds . lets get this going now.
Day 8: All settled in and game for the grow now.
Six shooter is a lanky looking lady with longer leaves than the other two girls. She has a sativa look to her already !. lol
shebis on her 3rd set and possibly 4th at a pinch
Strawberry pie is the smaller of the group in overall size so far with her leaves resembling the six shooter. onher 4th set of nodes
Mexican Airlines is a broad leaved girl indeed. lots of area to power those growth spurts hopefully . All around 2 inches tall and now directly under the sp3000 with the room fan keeping them dancing. Lets hope they are thick stemmed ,multi noded ,monsters next week!!!.
With their position in the room , they will be trained but not to keep their height down as they are next to a tall lady and need to keep the light up.
Be safe Growmies.
Day 14: Hi all. The Fast Buds babies are proving themselves worthy. They are now on around node 3/4 and happy and upright. Leaves are looking nice and healthy with a flat appearance so no issues so far. They have taken to the pots well and I am watering from the outside edge to encourage the roots to spread out in the pots wider before they set up for flowering. The Mexican airline looks very indica compared to the other two already with her chubby fan leaves forming.
I have given them a feed with Mega crop too now to get the leaves to their best green for photosynthesis the way only MC can. lol
Until next time
be safe and well
Day 21 Veg: All going good so far with the ladies. At their 5th nodes now and beginning to fill the pots out nicely too now.
I have started giving them Megacrop at 1/4 strength now. nonsigns of burn or any issues
Siz shooter is the smaller of the group and I have removed her 1st nodes to get her to ficus on the higher ones I won't stress her out now as she could be held back if not careful.
Strawberry pie developing well amd i have now tied her main at the 5th node to slow the development and allow the other nodes to equal each other for a canopy. .This will be removed and the node allowed to continue to develop.
Mexican airline had the same treatment as the pie with a tied 5th node. Her colour is perfect with no signs of any issues. We will see how the method works by the next update hopefully. fingers crossed.
be well
Day 28 veg: Hi all , I hope your gardens are green and your stash jars are full ?.
With the 4 weeks passed and what looks like a possible flowering start to the ladies with a few white hairs on the bracts and within the tip growth.
The odd burns on the leaf are not from a feeding error but from the mist over spray of my d.i.y fungus gnat killer. A steeped tobacco , washing up liquid and bicar of soda. It works on contact mainly but doesn't bother the top soil at all. The flies are crazy now from the coco use ( 1 drawback of it but worth it still). It is a little "hot" and has caused the yellowing burn.
I have now got some store bought product that has donenthe job instantly and will hopefully hot the emerging young adults over the coming week. It is a powder with multi use called Agrothrin. works on many garden pests and problems insects.
Six-shooter is still a lighter shade than her stable mates but just think this is genetic as they are all feeding well so far. she jas a sativa kind of look too her so far and with the inset of flowering starting , I think she could stretch into the space nicely.
Strawberry Pie is also beginning to show signs of flower too. She had her 5th nodes tied up to help the lower 3 (node 1 removed with coty earlier)to develop to the same height
I am hoping I timed it right with the autos. The 5th is now over at a 45 degree angle so should hopefully stay put a little longer as the others start their stretch period. She is a wider looking strain like the Mexican , ,so a nice mix this run
The Mexican is doing well now and i released her 5th node too sonlets see how she reacts
Onward to the flowering cycle next.
be safe growmies
Day 7 Flowering: Hi all. The fast buds funsters have been busy setting up their stretch time and look set to spring into a burst of growth. They are all clearly flowering with signs of stretch showing in the length of each growing tip too.
Six shooter is thebsmaller of the three ladies and I have left her pretty much alone besides a clean up below , she doesn't look like she will be a big lady so I can keep her in her chosen shape.
Strawberry Pie was tied up on her 5th node to allow the lowers to catch up initially and has now ignored that completely and accelerated it to catch up since flowering began. lol. She looks nice and happy with upright leaves and I have took a little lower growth out for flowering focus. She is a good size to really use her stretch period to my advantage so will be pinned for the final bud building.
Mexican airline has decided its taking off without clearance and despite my attempt to ground the 5th node. I had bound it like the Strawberry but shebbounced back too so i put a 90° bend gently on the srem and she still bounced back. I have now been more aggressive with the stem and kinked it with a slight splitting if the flesh too. It should for a knuckle for the former merristem to be held up . The lowers can now catch up better while she strengthens the damaged stem too. She would be a very tall girl if let free I think. I did a little clean out of lower growth on her too .
Thankfully the gnats are no longer bothering the plants roots so this is mounter a worry.
feeding well each feeding time and only to a small runoff. no signs of burn or any other deficiency at this point but I am ready with the cal mag just in case.
A good week.
be safe Growmies.
Day 14 Flowering: Good afternoon Growmies. I hope we are all getting some sunshine and have enjoyed Easter. Munchies and Easter are made for us guys!. lol
The 3 Fast girls have been racing to get the tallest during their stretch period so far. It is clear to see the Mexican Airline has the lead there , even with my supercropping her 5th node to try to hold her back a little. She really is a lanky lady and without some l.s.t or tying , she would be very tall.. Bud sites are looking good so far and only time is needed now to see how she plans to fill those stems.
Strawberry Pie is similar in height and stretch to the Mexican. Nice airflow underneath and her general size is good. Nice and healthy green with no signs of any issues.
Six-shooter is the small girl who doesn't want to be messed with it seems. She is ambling along at a steady pace untouched and is a slightly lighter shade of green to the others by genetics I think now but I will keep my eye on this a little more in case a def hits.
They are still stretching slightly but slowing down now. all good and as it should be
be safe growmies. until next week
Day 21 Flowering: Howdy Fellow growers.
All has been good in the grow this week. The three Flowering ladies have been showing off this week with their flowering prowess.
I did a little defoliation early in the week and I think the six shooter needed it more than the others. She is fairly small in comparison to the other 2 and hasn't been half as stretchy. I left her natural due to her size difference whichbi am glad I did now to keep her in the canopy with a chance.
Strawberry Pie has been very stretchy and is now a great size for rhe flowering cycle. He runs are stacking up slowly which is a good sign this early that they should form long thick colas instead of spaced out clumps of buds.
Mexican Airline is by far the leader for both size and bud stacking. She leads in the 6 plants germinated at rhe same time and I can already see how well she has done . She has a really open, large airy structure which will help as the hips thicken up.
No smell yet from them but this is still very early days. These will be the final harvest of a perpetual Auto run that I have done to see if the same amount of time using Photoperiods will achieve the same total yield. I think these ladies will certainly set the bar high in the yield score.
Feeding really well about every 3 days and no real signs of any deficiency. Happy days Growmies. be well.
Day 28 Flowering: Good afternoon growmies. I hope we are all well and sane while this world silliness plays out.
Here we are at the fun side of growing again. The stretch is well finished and they are now beginning to stack the colas on their long stems.
Six-shooter has remained fairly small and is not a very attractive looking girl at all. lol A bit like the spotty teen about to emerge the butterfly I am hoping !.. She is a really odd looking girl with a scruffy appearance even after a little defol. She looked underwatered in veg a few times too but was not the case. She has a really sticky build up of resin already and smells quite strong of urine.lol I think she will be a late bloomer but not dissapointing.
Strawberry Pie is looking huge and lanky now her stretch has done. Her node lengths are a little wider than I had hoped but I get the impression she will still join them up for some very long colas. Her trich build up has started already and is very productive too. Sticky fingers that smell of sweet fruity candy at the moment. She is around a foot tall with lots of room to swell and get air around her frame too.
Mexican Airline is the star of the bunch right now, she is huge already. Her bud stacking is really beginning to take form and with the size and amount of them, she will be a great yielder. She has filled her space nicely now and will benefit once I harvest some other the other plants i have running. The potential for the two bigger ladies to gain plenty of size is certainly there and without me doing the l.s.t early on in veg , I think they would be very tall plants . The attempt i made to try to tie the 5th node up while the others caught up was beaten by her determination to keep growing it and even after I totally bent and created a knuckle to again try to hold her down , she powered herself through and carried on with her plans for the flowering cycle.... It did help to create a nice crown of Buds though which should fill our rje whole structure of her.
Feeding every 2 days and showing no issues to worry about besides a slight tip burn which is down to the pk warrior strength. A decrease in dilution will sort this quickly.
The Fungus gnats are now under total control , by this I don't meant have started training them to do aerial displays like the "Red Arrows" or fly patrols of the grow room but that they are no longer an issue. Still the odd one of two to keep mindful of but the sticky traps are a help too.
So there we have it for this update. All going well and the harvest date is not so far away now.. Be well and safe.
Day 36 flowering: Good afternoon growmies.
This week has been a dream to watch happen , each of the plants has really put effort onto stacking the buds and getting into light positive positions.
Six-shooter is the pygmy still unhappy been moved under the tsl2000 now so will get more direct light. I did a light defol on her to lose the bushiness she was showing. it is easier to see her potential now and I can work towards keeping her in productive phase. She jas some nice stacking already with very shaggy looking bud structures, should make an interesting finish.
Strawberry Pie has continued to push budlets out all over the place. she does have fairly long node gaps and filling them out will be a task but i feel she will be more clumps of buds on stems than the donkey dick colas.
Mexican Airline is pushing for star of the grow withbjer efforts. She has really took off now and her many many buds are starting to gain a great size for early flowering and stacking up really well too. its early days but i think she will be the plant to beat for yield...
They are feeding really well and I amended the living soil this week with some charge and life-cycle. This should support life in the pots and further nute production alongside the megacrop/shogun . I am trying to find a balance using l.o.s and megacrop to keep them both actively feeding rather than the los "switching off" from the additional added. Megacrop is not a usual sodium based fertilised and is root ready as it hits the pot so shouldn't hang around in the soil like others would. I donhabe slight lead burn from the strength so will pull back on dosage a little.
I do love how willing Fast buds autos are to go big !
The next weeks will be interesting to watch I hope now we are getting to the juicy bits. Who doesn't love a mid/late flowering cycle.? lol
Be safe and well growmies
Day 43 Flowering: Good day all. Hope we are keeping green and mean.
Thr Fast Buds ladies have been showingnoff this week with lots of pistil popping and colours beginning to show through now.
Six shooter is still a small lady and will nondoubt stay short and stocky. She has a high leaf to bud ratio which is a little dissapointing but her attempt to swallow the leaves should hopefully help that come harvest time. Her smell is getting stronger now and very sweet. Now she is in her own space with direct light, she has picked up a little and shows signs of using the energy boost now.
Strawberry Pie is filling out nicely now with buds stacking up. She does look a little burnt leafed from a slightly high dose of feed but sorted now and I do think she needs some cal mag next feed too. She is a decent size andnher buds are really starting to look unique and sassy.
Mexican Airline has been the star of these ladies so far and still is . Her buds are very attractive and have a very unique look to them. The camera doesn't pick up the reds and pink that are starting to appear alongside the orange. She smells so strong now too . I am so looking forward to trying her when she is done, until then I will just have to drool in vain. lol
They had a good saturation feed today and started to hit runoff before I finished fully. Rhey all seem to burst with growth each day after a feed so fingers crossed I can feed them to the sweet spot to use it all.
Happy Days here so far. Thanks Fast Buds and heather for the great genetics.
Be happy Growmies..
Day 50 Flowering: Hi all. Another week gone and another week closer to the harvest we get.
All of the girls have been behaving very well and adorning themselves with trichromes and scents of their genetics.
Six shooter now has a really nice dusty appearance on all her many sugar leaves and budlets which give her a very dangerous look of potency that is usually seen in gg4 and hybrids. She is not big at all but the limbs she has are full of buds and beginning to thicken out as the final two weeks run out . She has a candy sweet smell getting near her now too.
Strawberry Pie is now filling her space out nicely under the light with her buds also beginning to fatten during the last week. she has a nice healthy build up of trichromes now amd shows her "cake" side a little more now.
She has made a good sized plant amd has been a fairly willing participant to the basic lst she got.
Mexican Airline has continued to shine as the starlet of the grow. Her buds are so attractive to look at with their spikey appearance and mixed colours being produced now. Her general size is good and her energy tobgrow has been great too. The buds are really unique looking on this strain and I will be growing this again soon without doubt. Bud sizes are very good at this stage and I hope that the final few weeks will really push her to swell .
They are all now on the Dragon force to finish the final two weeks which should power rhe swelling and production of more oils for the harvest. They will be fed this for the next week now before a final week of weak feed to encourage a little fan leaf stores usage. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.
Have a great week Growmies , catch you all soon.
Day 56 Flowering: This week has been a great week to understand the difference between strains. now close to finishing , it is clear to see how different the bids can look to each other dependant on lineages too.
Six shooter has really surprised me with her rapid gains in bud girth. She has seemed to be a lot smaller and somehow stunted for most of the grow. This week has changed her completely, even down to her lower buds which also look a lot thicker than a few days ago. with approx 12 days to go, she could be one of the contenders for yield. She is also very frosty looking now with a nice sweet hit to her.
Strawberry Pie is really starting to colour her buds up now and even though they are not joined up colas , each clump looks to be fairly dense and heavy. The buds under direct light at the top look less chunky than the lowers with her too which is a first for me. The light is penerrating lower than I thought due to the structure she has. There are some nice looking lowers just putting new pistils out so she may go a little longer than her 8 weeks stated.
Mexican Airline is my secret favourite this run. Hwr bids are stunning looking spiky ,bursts of colour now and with a little longer to go , I wonder how she will look with even more ripening and fattening out. She is a very tall plant and i will train better for the next time I grow this strain. I have had to support a couple of the limbs now as they want to fall with the weight of the buds . I am on standby with more yoyo's if I need them. lol
These have been a pleasure to grow as expected and I am now popping some Fast buds Cream cookies auto ( x2) to run next. I dont doubt they will be great to grow. be safe and free growmies.
Day 63 flowering:: Hi grow buddies. All is well and ripening in the fast buds frenzy right now.
The Strawberry Pie is close to finishing now I thought but the new flush of pistils on all of the lowers has changed that a little. The main tops could be harvested 1st and possibly the lowers later in the week but I haven't decided which way to go with that yet. The lowers are really substantial in comparison to the tops so i think they need to rule the timing more.
Mexican Airline also looks ready to rock now with only a few pistils to start browning off up top but her lowers are also gaining sone serious size ( on video) . They burst into action a couple of weeks ago and I never expected them to get the size they have so low down. A very pleasant surprise. They are in process of maturing like the tops did with spiky white pistils among the darkening orange ones A very unique looking flower. She smells very sweet with a citrus tang too now.
Six shooter is a different matter , she looks happy to continue on and is only really putting out fresh pistils still. not many browning has are visible yet and her trichs are now starting to appear more. her density is good if not a little leafy but generally she looks like a good yield to come. her sides are very dense too so should all add to the finished totals well.
another Week i think. catch you soon growmies
This lady grew really well fro. the seedling to the harvest. I did apply a little lst to her early on which helped spread her out a little. During veg she wanted to go taller but I tried holding her back until after her stretch period. During stretch, she increased her size by a good 75% and her budsites were showing out around 10 days after 1st seeing her sex pistils showing. Her node spacing was fairly good and no clumps on sticks at all. During flower at week 8 , she had a second flush of fresh pistils which increased her overall yield too. Well worth a run and would happily grow it again.
A very good strain tobwatch grow. It had a really good start in veg and grew to a very decent 3.5ft after the stretch settled. node spacing is fairly wide which is a shame to waste so much stem !. She took to l.s.t with nonissues but did decide to go tall once the ties were relaxed. Ideal for a scrog to get the bottom bids more light as these really grew well amd even larger than the higher up mains. She didnt show any issues with full feeds when in flower at all and was a very happy plant from the off.
This strain for me , grew nice and compact with some very happy mains produced. forna plant the size she was, I think she gave a very productive yield.
New growers would have no issues growing this auto amd experienced auto growers could really get the best from it too. A perfect extract strain too with the amount of thc and trich built up. Another Fast bud winner for me.
