Well here we go into Week Two of Veg! ππ With two weeks of initial growth behind them now, the FastBuds Gorilla Cookies Auto's are doing great and sprouting their 4th set of leaves which means LST will start soon for these girls!
Thank you for following along this journey with me! Growing these beautiful cultivars is always better with someone to share the experience with....come along and enjoy! ππ
~Grown 100% organic in a 10g fabric pot with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium amended with 2tbs/g Down To Earth 4-4-4 / 2 cups/g Earthworm Castings / 1tbs/g Dr. Earth Flower Girl 2-8-4 and 1tbs/g Dr. Earth Bat Guano.
~24hr light cycle during germination / 19/5 light cycle for Veg & Flower
~Straight water ph'd @ 6.2-6.8 when needed, top dressed every 3-4 weeks and weekly Compost Tea's.
3/8- The two FastBuds Gorilla Cookies Auto's continue to increase in size and foliage! Both girls have absolutely gorgeous leaves sprouting out. They're maintaining their color & vigor and have perfect structure! Just another phenomenal cultivar from FastBuds! ππ
I'm continuing to water twice daily with 0.25g of de-chlorinated water that is ph'd to 6.4-6.6 @ 74 degrees with an EC of 0.2-0.4. Every other day I'm adding 5ml/g of Fox Farms Wholly Mackerel and twice weekly adding 3ml/g of Botanicare CalMag+. Tomorrow they'll be getting their first Compost Tea {Wiggle Worm Castings/Alfalfa Meal/Kelp Meal/Unsulfured Molasses and a small amount of Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4 dry amendment and 1 scoop of Great White Mycorrhiza} that I started yesterday, of which they'll receive 0.5g of each... They're gonna love it!π
I am also continuing to give both nightly Foliar feedings via spray bottle just before the dark period with Fox Farms Flower Kiss which they are digging big time!
Insofar as environmental conditions, the tent temperatures remain a consistent 68-78 degrees with the RH running 50-55% currently and the co2 levels going from 500ppm's on the low end to 900 on the high side. The SunSystems 315 LEC is now hung @ 40" above their canopy and will eventually be lowered down to as low as 24" once they're into flower.
The biggest challenge when growing indoors organically with 5g pots is providing just the right amount of water as you want the medium throughout the ENTIRE pot to be moist (not wet) to give the root system every opportunity to spread throughout the medium all the way to the sides and bottom (or close to it). That said, keeping up with adequate watering is a challenge, but extremely essential for optimal plant growth.
With a 5g pot FILLED with a root mass you WILL get enormous results with autoflowers provided all other factors are kept on point....and that's the KEY! Perfect environmental conditions, proper feeding and watering, good genetics and a HUGE root system (1200ppm's of additional co2 helps a bunch too!) = Monster Auto's!πͺπ
3/10- The girls received their first Compost Tea yesterday and it looks like they loved it! (knew they would...lol!). They each got approx. 1/2g of tea fed to them gradually to allow the medium to absorb the tea.
I also began LST on the #2 phenotype to get a handle on her before she got away as her growth is really beginning to take off! I anticipate that on the #1 phenotype, being a few days behind, will be starting her LST soon!
Both girl's have great color and vigor, temp's in the 'FastBuds 4x4' are running 72-80 degrees with a 45% RH which is GTG for them right now. ππ
3/12- Well the girl's are 12 & 19 Days old today! Both girl's are really on a growth spurt, approaching 4" tall, and getting bushy as hell!. It seems as they're sprouting new leaves out every day...crazy!
They both continue to receive nightly foliar feeding with Fox Farms Flower Kiss mixed @ 5ml/g and applied just before the 5 hour dark period. Daily watering's continue with de-chlorinated water to which I've now added 5ml/g of Fox Farms Wholly Mackerel to and then ph'd to 6.4-6.6 @ 72deg. with a 0.4 EC which, when I water I soak the pots thoroughly, but not to the point of runoff. Twice a week when I water I will water just from the bottom of the pots to let the plants draw up the liquid into their pots to ensure that the medium is moist throughout for those roots to grow into!
I have begun LST on both phenotype's and am checking them multiple times daily to tuck leaves and adjust if necessary.
The SunSystems LEC 315 cmh is still hung at 40" above canopy above her. Next week I will be switching the SunSystems out for a BRAND NEW HLG 225 LED that the folk's at HLG were kind enough to sponsor me with. ππThis light from HLG is supposed to be a direct replacement for the LEC315 in the tent currently. I can't wait to see what this bad boy can do for the FastBuds girls...can you?! π
Tent temperatures are a steady 79.7 degrees thanks to my Hurricane exhaust fan connected to a 6x24" Terrabloom carbon filter w/ IdealAir Controller which has the capability to vary the fan speed....Works like a charm! ππ RH in the 4x4 is 45-50% and all fans are running now as well as the IdealAir 14k BTU A/C unit pumping in cool air.
3/14- Well there goes another week behind us on this journey to dank, sticky buds! Both pheno's are doing fantastic and putting out new growth daily! They've got incredible vigor and color...just gorgeous! ππ
The #2 pheno who's a week ahead of her sister has really reacted well to her LST and has multiple branches all reaching up to the light! She is really going to be impressive! The #1 pheno is going to be a beautiful example of this cultivar as well. Although a week behind her sister, she's making up the difference quickly and responding to her LST like a champ with multiple branches now all extending up to the light!
~Thank you so much for following along so far! I hope you'll continue to follow my journey through the next weeks as things will be getting more exciting as the next weeks approach... Grow Strong! ππ~
@Antony_mow, After a week in the jars, I pressed some of the flower which had a 22-24% return of gorgeous rosin. I use the 'sugar trim' for bubble hash and/or the sift screens. π€ͺβ€οΈ
