feed her good and let her bask in the Carolina sun
3/12 Little Nana is hanging out in the tent today, Growing like a weed.
3/13 In the tent 74 deg F 45 rh, will water tomorrow morning while watching Leicester city (5) vs Sheffield (0), little Nana loves her some football
if Leicester wins I promised her some Fish Shit
3/14 Banana is outside enjoying the sun. Watered with 6.5 water. About 3.5" tall
update: Fox's won so she gets some fish shit next feed
3/15 Little B is in the tent all day, I will only let her out if it is a sunny and warm Carolina day
next couple of weeks is gonna be as cold as Liverpool beating Wolves 1-0
3/16 good feed + fish shit x 1/2 gallon of water at 6.5 ph, In the tent all day
3/17 She's setting in the tent celebrating St Patrick's Day,
She is about 5" tall and growing up so fast, baby B is almost a teenager overnight
3/18 Watered x 1/2 Tsp per 1 gallon HTG Supply stump tea adjusted to ph 6.5
3/21 Today is a good day to feed, Nutrients added to water adjusted PH to 6.5
She is about 6" tall, I will top right before flowering in the next couple of days
The shechedule I am kind of following calls for a flush on week 4 with Foxfarm Sledgehammer this week
3/22 Nice morning to sit in a window catch some sun and watch a spring day go by
3/23 Topping time, She has about 4 nodes and looks like getting ready to flower so it was time to top
This is the last week of vegetation, will start Low Stress Training in the next couple of days
3/24 Flushed with 2 tea spoons of Foxfarm Sledgehammer in 1 gallon water, let marinate for 15 minutes
Flushed with 1 gallon plain water 2 times and let drain well
Added small amount of ph 6.5 water with 1/4 strength nutrients and put her in the tent to think about it
3/25 Teenage Banana is getting fat and happy, good bit of growth from the topping and flush.
Gonna let her get taller before LST, will feed last vegetative feed this week when soil dries a bit.
Banana and her older room mate Aunt Gorilla are living in the small tent. The girls love to eat and not paying rent so there gonna soon get evicted to the large tent
The small tent will go back to a nursery for the next baby girls in germination.
3/26 Nice day to be outside soaking up that carolina sun, she's about 7" tall and growing like a weed,
Miss Banana's fan leaves are huge, their like an all you can eat food and energy buffet bar for her
3/27 Today was feeding day, Foxfarm nutrients and little bit for Fish Shit, water PH adjusted UP to 6.5 and she drank it up.
I feed her in the morning and let her sit outside in the sun and I started LST. Will adjust and defoliate as needed.
She is in the little tent with new baby sister Banana Deuxième and her big ass Aunt Gorilla.
3/28 This will be the first week of flower, Banana has recovered very well from last weeks Low Stress Training and Topping. Nana is full and growing well.
I will water with HTG Supply stump tea added in a couple of days as the soil dries a little and a good Foxfarm feeding about mid week,
3/29 In the small grow tent flowering in a 3 gallon cloth smart pot, 73 deg F, 47 RH, lights are on from 6:00 am to 12:00 am (18 hours) lights are off 12:00 am to 6:00 am (6 hours)
Banana is an auto-flowering plant so I will keep her on the 18-6 light schedule thru full flower till harvest.
3/30 Gonna be a bright Carolina sunny day outside temp 65-70 Fahrenheit.
Good day for the little lady to get out of the tent and sit outside soak up some rays and have a big drink of yummy stump tea with a small hint of Boomerang
While little Miss Nana is outside with her older fat ass Aunt Gorilla, enjoying the sun drinking and giggling on the patio, I have moved them out of the small tent.
They should be happy to spread out in a bigger tent. The large tent has the same LED light as the small tent, an oscillating fan and a carbon filter for that skank fragrance of late flower.
3/31 Banana has made the move to the larger tent. She is enjoying the extra room and a nice breeze, Temp is 77 F and 55rh. Same 18-6 light schedule. Flowers are developing and expanding.
4/1 In the middle of the night I heard noises coming from the tent. When I got up I went checked on the plants. To my surprise the Banana Kush grew two Bananas last night!
I didn't know what to think so I smoked them. They were hard to keep lit but smooth smoke. <<Happy April Fools Day!
4/2 Nana was fed week 5 of the Foxfarm schedule I am loosely following. I added all nutrients in a big ol bowl checked PH and adjusted to 6.5.
On my latest visit to the local HTG Supply I picked up some Kelp Me feed and some organic Cal-Mag. I am hoping the Cal-Mag will prevent tip burn as advertised.
4/3 The first week of flower went well. The plant is expanding all the way around. Each flower is getting bigger each day. Will water first of the week.
4/4 Happy Easter
Week 2 of flower has begun, she has almost double in size and the flowers are maturing. The pistils are beginning to show as she is growing in the tent. Will water tomorrow.
Should be a nice warm weather week so Banana may go outside to take in some sun this week.
If the Magpie's beat Hotspur's and Harry today, I promised Banana a double shot of Fish Shit next feed. Nana loves her some football
(update: A tie is not a win sorry Ltl Nana)
4/5 Today the whole family is outside in the sun. They all had a big drink of water with HTG stump tea and a small shot of fish shit, PH was adjusted to 6.5 +/-
Little Nana (aka Nana Une) aint little no more. She is 4 weeks younger than Gorilla but a lot bigger. BUT Nana 1 is in a three gallon cloth smart pot and Gorilla G is in a two gallon cloth pot.
The pistil formation starts flower so she is right on schedule to grow some big ass banana cola buds
Family photo by age: Aunt Gorila G, Nana Une and babies: Nana Deux, Nana Trois, Miss W Widow and Miss Pineapple E
4/6 Full bright sun slight breese 80 deg RH 24. Its hard to leave Banana in side the tent on a day like this. The plant really responds to the sun. the top leaves kind of angle up almost like a V.
I do bring her into tent before it gets dark. the tent light stays on till 12:00.
Picked up some Roots Organics Potting Soil today, Amended soil by top dressing, I added a few handfuls and worked it in the existing soil.
Roots Organics Potting Soil has all kinds of bat crap, worm guts and fish with feathers in it so how can it be bad. Its also got stuff in it I can't pronounce or spell so what the hell, Nana like it.
4/7 Had to do a flush, I feed scheduled feed and noticed the run off water was at ph 6.1 and the bottom most leaves having issues.
I flushed with regular tap water. Checking run off with each half gallon added. Banana is in a 3 gallon cloth pot so it took about 4 gallons of plain water to get run off at 6.5 ph.
She is setting in the sun draining, I will add week 6 nutrients with cal-mag as she drys out. Also add a little more soil as needed.
4/8 Banana is growing like a bitch expanding her buds and filling out the tent, I had to raise the lights a couple of inches (1inch =25.4mm), the flush seems to have helped the overall health of her too. The leaves are big and green, some of the very lower leave were pruned off. The white pistils are forming in all the buds.
The tent's humidity was a little high so I cranked up the de-humidifer and set it to 45
4/9 The soil has dried out enough to take a feed and check look. I feed 1/2 gallon water with 2 teaspoons of Boomerang 1/4 teaspoon of organic cal-mag and adjusted PH up to 6.5.
The second 1/2 gallon had a variation of feed week 6 at half strength adjusted to 6.5 ph. The run off was fairly clear and is reading 6.5 ph.
Gonna be in sun today as long as clear skies
4/10 I need a bigger tent! The damn banana kush is growing up and out. I think it really is a banana tree. She is about 24" inches tall x 22" inches wide and growing. It really has responded well from the flush, sun and nutrients, The bud sites are developing and and expanding with new white pistils throughout the plant. Gonna be some colossal buds on this baby when she matures.
This will be the end of week 2 in flower and 10 days till 4-20 day
4/11 Start of week 3 in flower. Big Nana will be in the tent most of time this week, outside if sunny and warm like today. This week feed cycle will be water wait till dry and then nutrients feed.
Will do defoliate as needed on the lower leaves.
4/13 Today is feed day for the girl. I gave her a variation of week 7 feed. I mixed up 1 gallon of water added nutrients and 1 teaspoon of organic cal-mag. Checked ph and adjusted UP to 6.5.
Poured the 1 gallon mixture slowly into Banana's 3 gallon cloth pot. I checked the runoff and the ph was at 6.5 I like to keep a check on the runoff water to prevent nutrient lockout if it drops out of range.
Her little fat ass is setting in the bright sun 78 degree at 30% humidity. She wants to be the big banana one day.
We had a visitor drop by today. Larry the lizard came by for lunch and a little siesta in the sun while lounging on a banana fan leaf.
4/14 (6 days till 420) Wifey claims Larry was Larryette and laid eggs in the soil of Banana. I bring Banana inside at night and Mrs W says the damn eggs will hatch and we have flying lizards everywhere in the house. I told her to hush and pass the joint.
Banana One is outside again today with Bud the dog on guard. The flower areas are expanding all the way up the branches. White pistils clusters at each flower point. Its got a long time to go but I will be watching the pistils when they change color as my baby matures.
4/15 Big Banana is in the tent growing, The humidity is a little high in the tent so I let Gorilla out to sit on the south side of the castle for the day.
Banana continues to fill out and expand the clusters of bud sites all over her. These are going to be some big banana kush cola buds when it fills out.
I will be changing the feed schedule soon to include bembe, bud candy or molasses depending on her attitude.
Thinking about going with the Foxfarm happy frog organic base feed of big bloom, cal-mag and kelp me for the last half of flower. Also I may use some Golden Tree, Fish Shit and HTG Stump Tea
4/16 Today is feed day. Banana's soil has dried out and is ready to eat. I mixed her up a nice sweet organic cocktail with some good old bembe and bud candy in it to feed and fatten up the buds.
Also because New Castle barely gets by West Ham, Banana gets a shot of Fish Shit with a hint of stinky Golden Tree , Nana loves her some football.
She will be in the tent all day as its not warm or sunny enough to be outside. By the beginning of May, Banana will be an outside plant till harvest.
Holiday Week
4/18 This will be the 4th week of flower for Miss Banana Kush. She will be 8 weeks old this week about half of her life expectedly so Nana is at mid life in people years, best days of her life.
We think B Kush will have about 8 weeks+/- of flower to go. She has more life in her than Sheffield United FC.
Middle aged Banana will be moving outside in a couple of weeks to live with the lizards fulltime and I am hoping she may mature and ripen sooner in the full spring sun.
4/19 Beautiful sunny day to have a family photo. The whole Perpetual family is out of their tents and on the south side of the castle enjoying a nice cool drink of plain H2o.
Banana Une's soil was dry and she was light to pick up so she was ready for some water. I let her drink a whole gallon of plain water with ph adjusted down to 6.5 The runoff ph was at 6.4
Nana Une is a big girl and will get nutrients in a couple of days as soon as she gets hungry. Banana's has a sweet tooth as she gets older.
BK1's white pistils clusters are still developing hopefully some big ass colas. I see one little white pistil barley turning brown on the whole plant.
Until harvest I will be giving her treats at some feedings. Her buds like really like the sweet stuff like Bembe, Bud Candy and Molasses.
Happy 420 Day
Today is a world wide international holiday for everyone!
In celebration of this blessed day "Fish Shit for Everybody" That's right all the wacky backy's in the house big and small get a shot of Fish Shit today.
4/21 The girls stayed up till 12:00 last night drunk on Fish Shit, They all got up at 6:00 AM shit faced but ready to grow. Inside the tent its 72 degree 47% rh,
Banana Kush 1 is in her tent expanding all the buds starting to form the colas. After LST exposed all the flowers sites buds are forming nicely. She will be feed one day this week.
4/24 Feeding time on the farm. Banana Kush's soil was dry and she was lite in weight picking her up, I feed her a variation of Fox Farm week 8 soil nutrients with PH adjusted up to 6.5
BK1 is in flower so I added some bud candy, a little molasses, fish shit and little bit of stinky golden tree. She drank up about 3/4 of a gallon, I am a little concerned that the runoff ph was 6.3
so when she dries out it will be a good time to flush,
Nana 1's buds are filling out as the colas forming longer than a beer can and only going to get bigger, I am looking forward to next week as big naner gets some real sun light and starts filling out more.
4/25 Banana Kush is 9 weeks old and has been in flower for 5 weeks, She is outside enjoying the full sun, temperature in the low 70's 40% rh
Leaves and stems look good, there are a couple lower leaves turning but nothing major. BK1 will be drying out a couple of days and is in order for a flush this week.
Big Nana is so excited tonight to be expecting a new addition to her Perpetual family this week. All we told her was its gonna be twins girls.
4/26 Today is water day, Big Nana took about a gallon of plan water. the run off PH was 6.6. I let her sit in the sun for a while and gave her a nice big drink of HTG Stump Tea.
Big Nana likes to come inside to the security of the tent about dusk on a pretty day. She and her Gorilla of a roommate will stay up till 12, get up at 6 am then go outside and have brunch
about the time the sun hits the south side of the castle in the morning. I think Fish Shit is on the brunch menu Tuesdays.
4/28 Big Banana was hungry this morning, She drank up a variation of Foxfarm week 9 soil feed. I did add organic Cal-mag, some bud candy and a shot of fish shit I promised Nana.
I had to add ph UP to get the morning cocktail to 6.5 The buds on this banana tree are filling out and there is a some nice frosting going on. I installed a metal support for the main cola to help support the weight when she starts filling out her pot.
5/1 Happy May Day. Big Banana was thirsty. She drank up about 1 1/2 gallons of plain water with ph adjuster up to 6.5 The runoff was 6.4 its a little low but I am going with it. Her buds are filling out and she is getting a little heavier to pick up. The pistils are turning brown and you can see some nice frosty trichomes on the buds. Big Nana has a slight smell and its stronger in the morning. Don't we all.
This is the last day of week 5 in flower.
5/2 Week 6 of flower, Big Nana is enjoying the sunshine. She had water yesterday so a big feed is on the schedule in next couple of days.
FYI: Banana Kush1 and her older but smaller Aunt Gorilla Glue 2 got mad at me and moved, they are living outside till harvest.
I am pissed about the European soccer Super League and it boiled over.
But I made up to them and all the girls with a little foliar mist spray of Bush Doctor Flowers Kiss.
I mixed the ladies up a evening spray of BDFK upped the ph to 6.5 and gave all the girls a misty mist kiss all over if you know what I mean. I am hoping all the ladies are satisficed tonight.
5/4 Yes Miss Banana those pants do make your ass look big and I like it. Her buds are thickening up and filling out more each day.
When she is outside the winds gusts push the limbs and I was concerned about breakage.
I added some heavy twine, tided to a support and wrapped around the plant supporting the outside colas. She is eating like a pig and will only get bigger towards harvest.
May 5 Happy Cinco de Mayo
Early this morning Big Naner enjoyed 1 whole gallon of Cinco de Mayo holiday cocktail. Thats what I told her but it was a variation of Foxfarm week 9 soil feed with Cal-mag,
Bud candy, Molasses, fish shit and also "it smells like sewers on a hot day" Golden Tree, No wonder it's a secret. With nutrients I always add ph UP to get the cocktail to 6.5The run off was 6.4
As expected in flower some of the biggest hardest working fan leaves are turning yellow. Them big old buds are sucking the nitrogen out of the leaves. I am hoping the buds continue to develop.
5/7 TGIF What a week for growing. Banana Kush's soil was dry and ready for a big watering this morning. I slowly poured in a little over 1 1/2 gallons of plain water she gulped most of it in and the run off was 6.5 The big ol cola buds are buffing up. In her old age she has a sweet tooth, She loves the bembe, bud candy and molasses for her big juicy buds. Banana is eating a lot of junk food and getting fatter.
If the magpies beat the foxes today I promised her a shot of fish shit next feed. update NC wins 4-2 Naner IOU a fish shit shot.
5/8 Banana got up early Saturday morning to enjoy a cool breeze and a nice blast of good ol Sun. Big Naner is growing and her buds filling out more each day.
Nice frosty sticky trichomes are sprinkled throughout her multiple cola buds. If you catch the view just right in the light Banana's eyes sparkle like diamonds.
Most of the older white pistils are turning real nice orange color as she ages. She is still growing and packing it on, You can tell the new growth in the cola by the new white pistils in the bud sites.
There is not really any smell coming from her yet. Its like a faint funky aroma smell of a defeated Hotspur football sock.
The end of this week means the beginning of a new week for Banana Kush 1.
Happy Mothers Day 5/9
This is the beginning of Week 7 of Nana in flower, roughly 5+/- more weeks to go before harvest but only Banana knows when for sure.
I waited till today to let BK1 know she was a mother. Mother plant baby momma BK1 has a love Clone Baby from a drunken night of topping several weeks ago. I really don't want to talk about it,
Anyway BK1 Clone Baby and her mother both enjoyed some together time today in the full sun loving life.
The plan is to let BK1 C Baby live waylate into her nice mature amber trichomes days, C Baby has already picked out a sunny window spot to watch this summer go by.
Fight to live another day-Salute to Sheffield, Brom and Fullham
5/10 Breakfast of champions on the wacky backy farm. Banana Kush was ready for a variation of Foxfarm week 10 soil feed. with organic Cal-mag, Bud candy, Molasses and a little bit of fish shit.
Her cola bud sites continue to fill out and expand. The sugar leaves are full of mostly clear trichomes with pretty light orange pistils. In the early evening today I will mist her leaves with a little Kiss.
Naner's hardest working yellowing fan leaves are giving it all up for the cause.
5/11 I learned a new word of the day: Se*nes*cence as in "Senescence refers to the natural yellowing and dying off of plants"
5/13 Big Banana is a beast
5/15 Today Banana K is having a morning brunch cocktail of Big Bloom and Bembe with a hint of molasses and bud candy. Her bodacious colas are filling out and buffing up real proud like.
The frosty glittery trichomes are turning from clear to milky with a few amber all over her. About 90% of her nice hairy pistils are a pretty orange color, very few white are left.
She is enjoying the full sun outside today with a temperature in the mid 70's and 30% rh
5/16 This is Week 8 of Banana Kush in flower with trichomes all over her buds. The cola buds are buffing up and plump. She has a nice smell more noticeable in the morning. As she matures the big fan leaves are feeding her buds and yellowing like my teeth. She really likes the sun shine on the south side of the castle and now and then a nice cool drink of h2o.
As of today Banana K1 is the oldest of her Perpetual grow family, she will miss her friend Gorilla G2 as they have spent much time together growing,
Cheers to Gorilla Glue 2 , May your smoke be smooth
5/19 Today is sunny around 80° with 40% rh. BK1 was watered yesterday with "free Stump Tea Tuesday" HTG Supply freshly brewed Stump Tea. All the girls enjoyed a nice drink.
She will be spending all her time outside until harvest. Buds are still buffing up with the sticky T's all over. Got a slight citrus smell to her.
5/20 Big Naner gulped down a nice breakfast of Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, Bembe, Bud Candy and a little molasses with ph adjusted up to 6.5.
She is outside on the south side veranda so I fed her before the sun got on her. High temperature today is gonna be around 80 with full sun.
5/21 Tonight, the outside temp is dipping in the high 50's late in the morning before sunrise. They should be ok outside but I am not risking it, The girls are camping out one last time inside,
5/23 9th week of flower for Miss Banana K @ 83 days old. On the down hill side of this grow with maybe 3 + weeks to go.
I am keeping an eye on the sticky trichomes, Mostly clear but a lot are milky a few amber so she is close. Fan leaves are doing their job
Her nice orange pistils are tightening up and she has a nice smell to her. Real sticky to the touch, the smelly resin stays on your hands if you touch her buds.
Today was a feed day, Big B took in some Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, Bembe and Bud Candy in 6.5 ph h2o, She loved it.
5/24 BK1 is a hot banana. The weather is hot and she looks to have a small dose of heat stress, I moved her to an area of filtered sun to get her out of the full sun.
She is drinking about a half gallon on water in the mornings to keep from being too dry.
5/26 Early this morning Banana K got a snoot full of Kelp me kelp you, Stump tea and a little terpinator in a nice cool cocktail. She sit in the full sun till about 2 in the afternoon
then moved to a nice breezy filtered sun spot.
5/31 10th week of flower for Banana Kush @ 91 days old. She is on a water only diet until harvest, BK1 is ready as her trichomes are cloudy with a lot amber.
Her buds are full and tight with a nice smell and she is in the sun ripening waiting on a flush this week.
June 1 Nice day to relax in 85° full sun with 35% rh and a slight breeze. Her fat ass buds are sparkly frosty in the sun. The soil needs to dry just a bit before I start flushing.
6/2 Banana Kush had a big drink of Trepinator and Molasses with the solution adjusted to 6.5 ph . She had about a gallon of the sweet cocktail to get a good runoff for 1st flush.
6/4 BK1 is coming on her last days. She is using up all her stored energy and nutrients. Her once big old green fan leaves are shriveling up and turning yellow. Her sugar leaves trichomes are sticky and glittery in the light. She got a funky citric smell from her colas. We are trying for one more week of a ripened banana kush wacky weed bush Big colas buds
June 6 11th week of flower for my ILGM Banana Kush Auto @ 98 days old. This MAY be the last week for big naner K as she is mature and ripe. She is on a sweet water only flush this week.
We are keeping and eye on the trichomes and sugar leaves. I want the trichomes cloudy with some amber and I don't want the sugar leaves to go yellow.
I really don't want to take her too early so she may go more than this week.
6/8 Banana K is setting fat and pretty. She is a fighter till the end and using all the fan leaves to feed her big ol frosty smelly buds. BK is on a h2o only diet this week. I am letting soil dry out then adding enough water to flush.
6/10 Letting soil dry a little and adding water till there is run off. She is eating herself and feeding on the stored energy in her leaves. I see more amber trichomes on her big tight buds.
When its humid and her soil is wet I like to have a small oscillating fan moving air near BK to avoid mold issues.
6/11 Today is the day. My banana Kush is 103 days old and she is ready for the next step. About 20% of her trichomes are amber and most of the pistils are brown and tight against the buds.
Her last flush was with water only early this morning and have I have been keeping her in the fans path all day to help dry her soil evenly.
She is resting peacefully in a cool dark room with a small fan running and a de-humidifier set to 50 % rh.
BK1 will rest in the total dark for about 36+/- hours before her date with my chainsaw and weed eater.
June 13 Banana Kush Harvest Day -105 Days Old - From seed to Harvest
Big Naner K sat in a dark room for about 36 hours. The temp was around 75 and dehumidifier was set at 50% and a small fan was circulating air in the room.
In the morning after 36 hours of dark the main stems were cut and trimmed. The buds were then hung on a rack and dried for 4 days.
It was fun to trim the buds. I trimmed the fan leaves first then cut the big cola bud stem off the plant and close trimmed the buds sugar leaves.
There was a lot of sticky on my hands and resin gummed up the scissors. I was surprised at the final wet weight. The buds are hung on a rack in the dark room drying.
The buds are pretty big so I am expecting about 5 /- days of air drying before going into mason jars to cure for about 3 to 4 weeks
Will Update as soon as I can in 4 to 5 weeks
3 weeks is as long as I can go.
July 3,
The buds were separated from the little stems then were placed in quart mason jars with humidly packs in side and sealed. The buds are not fully curried but enough cure to give it a try.
Its got a nice smell and tastes a little tropical. The smoke is smooth and mellow with a nice easy buzz. I highly recommend Banana Kush
