Happy 420. I received a mega giveaway of Royal Queen Seeds Fans at Facebook. Thank you RQS and @James. I am starting the grow diary of Purple Queen on April 20.
April 24
She cracked the shell and became green. The problem is temperature. Now it is 30 degrees C. I am afraid the heat stress in June, July, and August. My pots are painted with homemade Spiout. It is a mix of 200 g of Copper (II) carbonate (CuCO3) and 1.5 litter acrylic paint (white). Actually, the colour of CuCO3 was 95% brown. It means CuCO3 is almost oxidized. This is good to stop root circling.
Followings are my grow settings.
Grow tent
Gorilla Grow tent 60 cm x 75 cm

LED light
I do not know the product name. It is sold by CF Grow. CREE CXB3590 200W COB LED Grow Light

Soil
I use Plagron batmix.
https://www.plagron.com/en-NL/product/batmix---Growing-for-the-best-smell-and-taste.html
Now eastern Europe is totally hot like a summer. If I close the grow tent, the temperature reaches 34 or more. The condition is totally bad. But she is growing well.
Watering
April 29, 0.8 litter.
In this week, I make underwatering damage. 1st and 2nd pair of real leaves are totally damaged by heat and underwatering. 1st pair is almost dried. 2nd pair is still alive but light color. After seeing the damage, I watered 1 litter mineral water to her. But, it is too late. After getting damage, she was stant three. four days.
What the stupid I AM!
Now the heat was left from eastern europe, the temperature is under 30 degree C in the grow tent. She is recovering now. Some new shoots are becoming big with good leaf color.
Watering:
May 4: 1L mineral water without anything.
May 8: Dipping the pot into the bucket with root stimulator and pH adjusting.
This week, she is recovering. Some leaves are looks like N deficiency and Ca?. Dipping the pot into water is a kind of rinse. I guess the soil has poor nutrient for the girl. I started feed BioBizz Fish-Mix. The EC value is around 0.62. It is not strong, if soil has poor nutrient. The girl stretch 1cm per day after feeding nutrient water. I should check nutrient burn more carefully and change the amount of nutrient.
Watering
May 12: 1 litter with power roots only (pH adjusted)
May 15: 1 litter with power roots and Fish-Mix (pH adjusted)
Now my pot is satisfied with 600 ml water, not 1000 ml. I should stop 1 litter feeding. I will water 500 ml next time.
She is back to business. I was suprised, when I saw the root. On the soil, she was not stretched big. But, inside the soil, she made very good base of herself. After transplanting, I hve not seen any kind of new damages. She immidiately start to stretch and make leaves bigger.
I cut some leaves in the morning on May 24. Because, those are damaged very big and not recovered. And also I got the suggestion to cut such the leaves at GrowDiaries.
I checked her after 10 hours since cutting. Her lower shoots are becoming big.
Log:
May 18: Watering 500 ml with BioBizz Fish-mix 1ml / L and Nutrients listed above. EC 0.7 mS/cm
May 20: Watering 500 ml with BioBizz Fish-mix 1ml / L and Nutrients listed above. EC 0.7 mS/cm
May 22: Transplant into the 18 L pot. Watering 4L. EC 0.33 mS/cm
May 24: Cut four serious damaged leaves.
End of week 6, I travelled and could not check her. She has no trouble and is growing up very well. Now summer is starting. But she is strong enough under hot temperature. I topped her on June 2nd. I plan to switch the light schedule 12/12 in the next week (week 8). She is very thirsty and drinks 1L per day.
Log
May 28: Watering 3L (big run-off)
June 2: Topping 11th nodes. Watering 4L (very less run-off)
June 6: Watering almost 5L, There was the run-off. But, after 30 minutes, the run-off was absorbed by the soil.
I changed the light schedule 12 / 12 on 9th of June. She starts to stretch now. Some lower leaves are becoming light colour day by day. And new leaves do not grow dark green. I guess this is the deficiency of N. The WEB page of Plagron say batmix includes fertiliser for six weeks, but depend on each case. And also batmix users in GD noted they do not add fertiliser and I can see healthy girls. I transplanted three weeks ago. I feel it is too early to add fertiliser.
I started to add fertiliser with the small amount and will increase step by step. I did not check carefully after changing flowering schedule. June 12, the girl has a little bit of underwatering damage. She is still not so big. But, drink water like a big monster.
Log
June 9: Starting flower phase. Watering 4 L with Plagron power roots 1ml / L. EC = 0.33 mS / cm
June 12: Watering 4L with Plagron green sensation 1ml / L. EC = 0.89 mS / cm. No run-off
June 14: Watering 4L with info described before comment. Very less run-off
This week, she stretches almost 10 cm. I wish she will also stretch one or two more weeks. She is blooming. When I stop the fan of the carbon filter, the grow tent is filled with the very sweet smell. I added the nutrients more than last week. The EC is 1.5 mS/cm with no burn, but still, almost all leaves are the light colour. I will add more nutrients in the next week. Probably EC value will reach 1.8 or 1.9. And also pH will be under 6.0. I should buy pH up in this weekend.
Log
June 18: Watering 5l
June 21: Watering 4.5l. Cutting some lower leaves
In this week my location is like in April or May. The temperature is not high, and she is not thirsty but drinks well. The stretching of her is slow. Probably, next week, she will stop to stretch and start to be fat. I cut some leaves and small branches. But, the side view picture is still bushy. I will cut more, but, I am afraid that I will heart her seriously.
The amount of nutrients is still increasing week by week. I will increase alga bloom with 0.2 ml/l step at each watering since the next watering till reaching to EC 2 mS/cm or maximum dose written on the bottole 4 ml/l.
Log
June 24: Watering 3l, very less run-off
June 26: Watering 5l
This week, no problems happen. She stops to stretch and blooms. Now roots are going out from soil on the top surface and bottom of the pot. Entire growing period, her roots become very nice. Thus, I can guess the buds will become bigger.
Log
July 30: Watering 4.5 l, alga bloom is 3.2 ml/l. EC = 1.95 mS/cm, pH = 6.5
June 3: Watering 4.5 l with the above condition (3.4 ml/l)
Probably, I had the wrong measurement of water or nutrients on July 30. Or water temperature has a big difference.
This week, she makes buds bigger and frosty leaves. I bought a USB microscope to watch trichomes. Now, I can see only on the leaves, not on the bud. I guess I will watch trichomes on the FAT bud after a few weeks. I can not wait for watching umber colour trichomes.
The nutrients are reached to the description of the bottle of nutrients. I feel she has no problem now. But some leaves near the light has too dark green. It is the time to stop increasing the nutrients. She drinks water very well. The run-off becomes less than the last few weeks. My queen, I will serve more and make you fat!
Log
July 6: Watering 4.5 l, alga bloom 3.8 l/ml, EC = 1.97 mS/cm, pH = 6.4
July 9: Watering 4 l
July 12: Watering 4.5 l (no run-off)
This week, She make herself fat without problems. The speed of drinking water is relatively slow. I feel the end is neer. The color of trichomes are clear or milky. To be honest, using the microscope is a little bit difficult. I guess more than 50 % of trichomes are still clear color. Because, when the light of camera is darker, I can see many clear colored trichomes.
Log
July 15: Watering 4.5l (very less run off)
July 19: Watering 4l (relatively big run off)
I decreased the amount of nutrition. Because some leaves have a little bit nut burn. The trichomes are 70 % milky, clouded colour at the top. I will start the flush probably next week.
Log:
July 23: Watering 4 l
July 26: Watering 4 l
I started the flushing this week. I made an overwatering problem on her. Some leaves have like the overwatering and pH problem. Or simply, def sign. I read some diaries, air pot users have no overwatering problem even in the flushing with a big amount of water. Of course, they are good skill growers.
The colour of trichomes is almost milky at top of big colas. At bottom of the colas, there is still much clear colour. I wish next weekend I can see the umber coloured trichomes and cut her.
The colour of the leaves is not purple. I can see some red colours on the bottom side of the leaves. As far as I understand, the big temperature gap between day and night time makes good autumn colour leaves. It is impossible in my grow tent at summer time. By the way, my queen still has green leaves.
Log:
July 29: Flushing, using more than 20 l tap water directly. After using tap water, using 10 l pH adjusted water to flush again.
August 2: Watering 3 l
This week is the last week of her journey. The end of week 16, I saw the colour of trichomes is almost milky and very few of them is umber. To be honest, I wanted to grow one or two more weeks. But, I am afraid that she spends her energy to survive and makes buds skinny. After two days of darkness, August 12, I chopped her down.
The biggest cola is around 20 cm and heavier than I imagined. As we know, after trimming, the scissor is very sticky. Taking the sticky stuff and frosted leaves, and smoking its are my harvest festival. I sink into the bed and could not want to move at that moment. I expect she will produce the nice Indica stone. After the dry and cure, I will upload the harvest diary, if I will beat the laziness from the Purple Queen.
Log:
August 5: Watering 5l like a petit flushing
August 10: Watering 1l. Unplug the light and make the complete dark night
August 12: Harvest
I smoked the buds without curing by vape. The smell is almost pine and like a raw vegetable smell. First, that smell comes. After that, I can enjoy berry, fruity smell.
She is the very strong queen, herself and high. The height is around 45 cm. I expected not so much hervest. But, she gave me very good yield. Thank you Royal Queen Seed for such the nice strain.
The high is very good. 70 % couch lock, 20 % hungry, 10 % smiling for me.
Looking better now how's the heat this week you can spray the walls of your tent to bring humidity up and can use a little fan to circulate the air around her and if u remove the most damaged leaves it will help her recover quicker good luck
@biggreens420,
Hi, thank you for the advice. Now the heat is not strong. After reading your comment, I think to cut the big damaged leaves. Those are not recovered now and make shade to the lower leaves. This week, I plan to transplant to a bigger pot. Because many roots are coming to bottom holes of the pot and drinking water speed is increased. After the girl relaxes on the new pot, I will cut unhealthy leaves (and probably top).
@biggreens420, Thank you for the comment. Yes, plagron product decreases pH more than BioBizz. I forget to write that I added Canna pH up 0.6 ml/l at the last watering. It increases EC almost 0.15 mS/cm. If I did not add, the pH is lower than 6.0. It is outside of good pH range for soil.
@TheFoxFarmer, Thank you. She gave me a good lecture. And the lecture text is the GD, here. This time I felt I could communicate with her and make her comfortable.
Dude so close to finish line now! Amazing job! She looks very nice and heathy! And congrats for the acrobatic picture... holding the ruler with your feet must have been tricky!! 😁😁😁
Can't wait to see your harvest!
@TomatoloverBoy, Oh! now I understand why everyone recommend relatively much air-flow fan and big size carbon filter. Fortunately, its are not so expensive. Thank you for the advice. And Happy growing! I wish you also got the good climate now.
