Pre-soak seeds or start them directly in rockwool?

Hi all, just wondering what everyone's personal preference is on this topic. I've tried directly into rockwool and went 6/8 and 2/4 with the duds never opening/showing tap root. Used minimal nutrient/pH'd water and treated rockwool properly.

Bella ciao

Hey Both options work good. I get success with cubes and with paper towel method. I like the towel method because I'm crazy for photos and i like to get pics of the root slowly creeping out.😁

Hi! I've tried couple different methods and with chilies I've played lot more with seed germination. Planting straight to soil/rockwool is easy method but my succes with these have not been the best. Never tried the soaking method but when I use the wet paper towel in a box my germination rate with weed have been 100% so far and REALLY good with chilies too and those Ive germinated maybe 50 already. I like to wait until the first leaves have formed and then I plant the seedling and I dug the whole thing under the soil/rockwool so that only the leaves are on top of the soil. This way the stem will start to produce roots too and the first stretch does not matter at all.
