Growing a northern light auto. It’s currently at 5 weeks. Has my plant gone past the point of return? Shall I give up and try again?

Not likely.. Looks like major light burn... that's why the leaves turned white. Also, see how the leaves (therefore, nodes) stacked directly on top of each other? You shold only have a pair of leaves (later just one on a more mature plant) at a node. It looks like you have 3 or 4 pair all coming out at the same location. Not being mean. These are things you can observe and react to now. A new seedling needs light, but not torched. Within a day or two you'll move that light from 30" to 24" or so (ymmv - LEDs are usually this distance, for example). If you see it stretch, you know to move it a bit closer, but don't drop the light too fast or too far the very first day. If it makes you feel better, my aunt did this her first grow too. Once you find that 2-4" range of a sweet spot (like 20-24", not 2"-4"), just let plant grow into it and raise 2-4" at a time. autoflower? it's toast... you have ~5 weeks or a bit more left. It won't do anything useful in that time. Just for experience, try to raise the light and get it back into health. I'd raise it to 30" initially... allow it to recover for afew days and see if color starts coming back... even then, wait for some stretch before lowering it back down to ~24" (or whatever is suggested for your type of light source) May only harvest a few grams, but you'll see how it ripens, maybe get a look at some trichomes with a jeweler's loupe to guage ripeness and learn for the next one... If you have another seed, you should feel safe that you won't waste it planting it right now. that thing won't take up any more space, for the most part.... even if it does you'll favor the new plant 100% for certain. Allow the plant to dictate what you do. Watch how it racts when you change things... keep it simple. And, defintely keep that light further away... significantly further.

Don't waste time and your heart with this one. I kept plants like this before. She will flower and grown to 10 cm tall in 20 liters pot. Yielded one unimpressive smoke. Better spend time and resources on things that will love you back. Yes, do start over. Find out what went wrong helps. But sometime, you may just get a bad seed that won't do anyting even when even you have giving it your best. I recommend photo period Northern Light. It is only take slightly longer than auto version. Much more forgiving and much more giving.

Hi! I'm not sure if this is going to be a good plant anymore BUT don't give up 'cos growing it till the end is still learning and you never know if she recovers and you get something out of it. I notice that you grow in coco but it looks really dry. Coco can be always wet 'cos it can hold so much oxygen that the roots won't suffocate like in soil, so overwatering should not be a problem. I suggest that you read this site https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/ you will find lots of good info!!

I don't know that have an answer but I find this fascinating. Perhaps you were late (week 3?) giving nutrients in coco coir, but since you tended to it so well it didn't die off directly - but now your week 5 with an auto strain and its putting all effort into flowering? Very unlikely you will get the nice puff you were hoping for with this one, but don't give up - just start again :)
